Akagi launches her first air attack earlier than any other carrier, cutting the wait by up to half, which speeds up clears and lets her strike before enemy skills go off in PvP. Pairing her with Kaga triggers First Air Fleet, adding up to 35% more aviation power on top of already strong SSR stats.

She's tough to pick up early since she only drops from a stage 3-4 boss at a low rate and doesn't reach her full potential without Kaga alongside her, and maxing both skills takes a lot of farming.

Pairs well with: Kaga; Nagato.

Akagi obtains her crimson red color from her name, which means "red castle" or quite literally "crimson," among others.

Akagi appears to bathe in flames/be engulfed in flames.

This may allude to her historical ending where her deck is burning before she sank/was scuttled with a torpedo.

It could also allude to her Chinese censored name which means "Phoenix", a mythical bird whose temporary death is succeeded by a fiery rebirth.

Akagi is the first shipgirl in the game to have two alts of herself available - Akagi-chan and Akagi µ.
