Nagato adds a lasting damage boost to Sakura Empire carriers, up to 20%, which hits harder than a typical aviation buff since it's a straight damage increase. As flagship she also buffs the whole fleet's Sakura Empire firepower and reload, and her own barrage covers a wide area with a bonus burst at higher skill levels, all backed by strong stats even before any of that synergy.

Getting full value out of her means owning one of two hard-to-get SSR carrier duos, either Akagi and Kaga or Shoukaku and Zuikaku, and leaning that heavily into carriers leaves the fleet weaker against suicide boats.

Nagato calls herself flagship of the Sakura Empire's Combined Fleet, asking the commander to prove he has what it takes to rule. She tries to project dignity through her speech and bearing, which only makes her seem harder to approach, though in truth she is kind-hearted and a little introverted, at an age where she would like friends besides Mutsu. She describes herself as the embodiment of the Sakura Empire's pride and glory, one of the Big Seven and a symbol of her era.
