Sailors along the southern coast of Tya spend many a night telling tales of the supernatural in the Dark Sea.

Those involving Captain Reve, the Riptide Reaver, are of particular interest.

Any seafarers who don't believe in this tragic undead pirate lord should pray they never see his ship, Brinebleeder, looming on the fog-strewn horizon.

Coming of age in an impoverished hinterland, Reve made a modest living as a fisherman, but constantly yearned for more.

After falling in love with a beautiful girl named Celeste from a nearby village, he swore he'd provide a life worthy of a fairytale.

Although Celeste was adamant she'd be content with love alone, Reve set sail on a trade ship in search of greater fortunes, promising to return.

When word of Celeste's beauty reached a local Earl, he decided to pay her a visit.

Discovering her engaged, a devious plot hatched like a putrid egg within in his mind.

The Earl wasted no time, hiring a ship of marauders to intercept Reve's trade vessel.

The experienced pirates sunk the ship with ease, unaware that Reve survived by clinging to a piece of flotsam wreckage.

Believing Reve dead, Celeste reluctantly sought comfort in the arms of the Earl, who was all too happy to console her.

By the time Reve drifted to shore, they were wed.

Upon discovering his betrothed in bed with another man, his blood appeared to freeze.

Despite Celeste's protests, Reve cut the lovers down before turning his sights on the ocean.

After tracking down the marauders that sunk his ship, Reve boarded their own in the dead of night, cutting the throat of every man.

With only one miserable life left to claim, he attached himself to an anchor and plunged into the icy depths.

Though his story should have ended there, Tya's oceans had never experienced such pain and terror in their midst, casting him out like a poison.

Ocean brine filling his undead veins, Captain Reve haunts the dead sea wielding the very anchor used to take his life.

With his resurrected crew of murderers, the Riptide Reaver dines on the souls of Tya's seafarers.

None are safe.

Spiteful Inferno (Parallel Universe)

A walking inferno unquenched by the ocean itself, Captain Reve emerges anew as the Spiteful Inferno.

Imagine, if you will, that the dreaded pirate captain, consumed by seething rage, chooses a different path of vengeance.

With a seductive whisper, she offers him a pact of resurrection, transforming him into the Spiteful Inferno, a blazing pirate lord reborn from the ashes of betrayal.
