In the wake of the Scalekin Empire's collapse, the Blackroot Bog became a refuge for exiles, rebels, and those seeking escape from the chaos left behind.

Among them were the Shardwild Circle, a sect of druids who fell into internal strife.

Some sought harmony with Tya's natural order, but others craved something darker—primal power untamed by the constraints of balance.

They turned their gaze to the Sanguis Mountains, where the line between predator and prey, life and death, was as thin as twilight's edge.

Legends whispered of an ancient magic hidden within vampiric tomes—rituals that could bind the essence of beasts to flesh and spirit alike.

Members of the Shardwild Circle, desperate for strength, seized upon this knowledge.

Through the consumption of blood, they gained the might, senses, and instincts of the wild.

Faelin and Kalina were born into this crimson legacy.

Kalina, unusually compassionate, sought to use their gifts to heal the land and protect it from those who would see it razed.

Driven by an unshakable unease, she delved deeper, uncovering a buried truth: the Blackroot Bog had once been the final stand of those who had refused the vampiric path.

They had been betrayed, their bones left to rot, their spirits forgotten.

As she traced their remnants, their whispers found her.

In that moment, she was shown the past in agonizing clarity: the betrayal, the slaughter, and the desperate plea of those who had died clutching their beliefs.
