Akatsuki's skill boosts her own firepower, torpedo, and reload, but only when Hibiki, Ikazuchi, or Inazuma sail with her, which locks the vanguard fleet into running at least two destroyers just to trigger it. She also picks up Fubuki's Special-Type destroyer bonus on the side, and her raw stats already lean toward torpedo damage and sit high for her rarity.

Running her with all three sisters lets everyone in the group cash in the buff at once.

Pairs well with: Hibiki; Ikazuchi; Inazuma.

Like the other Fubuki class destroyers, Akatsuki featured 9 torpedo tubes housed in triple tube mounts, of which one can be seen on her hip.

The Type III Akatsuki class destroyers featured the improved 127 mm naval gun, of which 6 could be found placed on the ship in double-barreled turrets.

This made her slightly more effective at anti-aircraft fire.

She also featured an enhanced propulsion system, making her ever so slightly faster.

The lit spotlight on her left shoulder is a reference to the night of her sinking, in which she illuminated Atlanta, and then became the subsequent punching bag for an entire enemy force consisting of cruisers and destroyers.

Obtainable as a cumulative Ema (votive tablet) reward and from event stages A3/B3/C3/D1/D2/D3 during the 'Crimson-Dyed Visitor' event.
