Not only were the field teams working overtime, but even Sybil's special task force was frequently deployed to the frontlines, engaging in direct combat with Meltdown creatures more and more often.In a way, she had gotten exactly what she wished for, yet she couldn't feel happy about it.
An increase in Genesis outbreaks meant more people were in danger.
The satisfaction of slaying Meltdown creatures was nothing compared to the wish that people could simply live in peace.But Genesis was never reasonable.
The Meltdown Response Bureau had tried everything—yet the best they could do was minimize the damage and rescue as many survivors as possible."If this keeps up, we're all just going to be worn down by the endless outbreaks..."The thought struck Sybil hard.
Was there a way to predict Genesis outbreaks in advance?
