Britomart

A knight who appeared in the epic poem "The Faerie Queene." She was a friend of King Arthur while they were still young and in training, and later they were adventuring companions. An expert spearman, she sets out on a journey in search of her destined love. Along the way, her search brought her more than her share of adventure.

...All this is the story of her mother, Britomart the lady knight. This Britomart is a Tam Lin who inherited the name...which makes her the second Britomart!

An honest, proud, and upright knight who, according to her mother, is exactly like she once was when she was young. It seems she has inherited the mentality and knightly spirit of the elder Britomart, who spent a lifetime adventuring. She bravely confronts the strong. She is kind to the weak. Should someone's love waver, she will hurry in to save them. As quick to laugh as to cry, she is quite a sensitive soul.

Virtue passed down from her mother, the original Britomart. Tam Lin Britomart brilliantly shines with bonus values she gains perpetually when it comes to adventures tied to love, chastity, and fidelity.

Tam Lin (Fairy Country): C

A skill which indicates that she is a Tam Lin serving Gloriana, the fairy queen. (The term "Tam Lin" here is derived from the concept from Proper Human History. It is very similar to the Lostbelt version, but not quite the same.) Originally its effect is the same as a low-ranked Incarnated Elemental skill; and Tam Lin Britomart draws mana from nature and converts a certain amount of it to magical energy.

Mana Burst (Wind): B

A variant of the Mana Burst skill. Britomart's Mana Burst takes the form of wind. When using this skill, fairy wings appear briefly on her back.

Long ago, Britomart the knight embarked on an adventure. Following a duel, she formed a friendship with a young knight named Arthur. She also battled giants and mages, and even rescued a damsel in distress. She eventually met her soulmate, Artegall, and after a great many adventures, finally married him. Soon after, she rejoined Arthur, and together they defeated the tyrant Grantorto on the order of Gloriana, the fairy queen.

Britomart is described as human in the epic poem "The Faerie Queene," but the Britomart in this game was summoned by Gloriana, the fairy queen, as a fairy herself after her countless adventures. At the end of her many adventures, Britomart became a Tam Lin, nurtured her love with her soulmate Artegall, and then gave birth to her beloved children, who bore destinies of their own. One of her offspring was named Aurelius Conanus, who was later known as the legendary King of Britain from the pseudohistorical account of British history titled "Historia Regum Britanniae." The other was Britomart, who inherited her mother's name, and became a true Tam Lin born to a fairy mother.

Tam Lin, Demonic Wind's War Cry.

The ancient Briton king's demonic spear passed down by her mother. Powerful magecraft akin to a curse courses through the weapon which always knocks her opponents from their horses. The weapon is massive, as tall as Britomart herself (when not in her armor). Upon True Name release, the true form of the demonic spear reveals itself. Whenever Britomart wields the demonic spear, fairy wings temporarily appear at her back as she unleashes a vicious attack of screaming demonic wind.

The Queen's Citadel, Waves of Armored Shells.

Demonic armor that was enshrined in Britomart's mother's castle. This famous armor was worn in battle by the Saxon Queen Angela, who fought against the previous king of the Britons, Uther Pendragon. This armor then became part of Britomart's combat raiment alongside the aforementioned demonic spear. It functions as a citadel and has potent defensive abilities upon its True Name release, but typically the True Name is not revealed and is simply expressed as a skill in this game.

High Queen Morgan was spotted at the stargazer's fortress. Hearing the rumor from paradise, the second Britomart headed to Chaldea herself and encountered Morgan. Both impressed and excited, Britomart blurted out: "Please make me Your Majesty's Tam Lin on your expeditions!" Morgan responded to this by building a massive athletic complex!

Before Britomart stood myriad obstacles and a horde of Servants who assembled to compete with each other! She was told she could become a Tam Lin should she manage to overcome all the challenges before her. But she was also warned that one failure, one wrong move could be lethal! In fact, it was almost certain to be! Surely, such a prospect would bring Britomart to tears, but...

"Oh, this is 'adversity,' right? I am SO ready!"

Somehow, Chaldea's Master was dragged into the whole mess as well. Now, alongside the second Britomart (who is more than a little hyped up), the time has come for a competition against all the many rivals in the training ground dubbed the Athletic Zone!

After many struggles and finally overcoming the ultimate challenge, the second Britomart was granted the title of expatriate Tam Lin.

"I appreciate this honor!"

Britomart grinned from ear to ear. And that is how her Spirit Origin was recorded in Chaldea's database.
