Miyu Edelfelt

An elementary school student who attends Homurabara Academy with Illya and Chloe. She forms a contract with the Kaleidostick Magical Sapphire to become the second Magical Girl. (It may be more accurate to say she was forced into it...)

As she has no family, she is adopted by Luvia and takes on the name Edelfelt, living as their maid.

Though her knowledge of physics and mathematics is at a university level, her communication skills lag substantially behind her age group. It is Illya who becomes her first friend.

It seems that Miyu doesn't know the difference between friendship and love, switching instantly from aloof and distant to overly clingy, but Illya accepts her anyway and returns her friendship. Through the cycle of daily life and bizarre adventures, the two become best friends.

Also, it seems that Miyu sees Chloe as a rival for Illya's affection.

Her speech and mannerisms give the impression that she is more mature and knowledgeable than her age might suggest, but she is quite lacking in terms of common sense. For all her knowledge, she has next to no real-world experience, as if she had been kept in isolation.

She refuses to speak of her past, but her oddly familiar eyes bear a deep sadness and loneliness, as well as a lingering sense of divinity.

In truth, she is a God Child from a parallel world.

She was born to the Sakatsuki, a house held in high esteem since the Tenshou era (around the late 1500s) in Fuyuki, and she possessed the power to grant peoples' wishes. As such, she is known as a God Child. She grew up sheltered and with no outside contact until she reached seven years old, the age at which her abilities are said to fade away.

Throughout history, members of the Sakatsuki, without exception, abandoned their own desires to simply wish for the happiness of the child. The fact that the most natural and obvious human and parental behavior continued for more than five hundred years was a miracle in itself greater even than the God Child.

Until...

Right before the God Child of the latest generation, Miyu, reached her seventh year, an unknown phenomenon in Fuyuki called the "Erosion Incident" caused the Sakatsuki house to collapse. Kiritsugu and Shirou, traveling the world in search of a miracle, found Miyu in the rubble, and took her under their wing.

Compared to the excitable older sister, this one is calm and rational. Because she is an artificial spirit, she still has a penchant for messing with her Master, and her inclination to cause all manner of trouble for fun has not changed.

Also, for some reason, the costumes she prepares for her contractor tend to be more revealing than her older sister's.

Sakatsuki of the Earth, Shining in the Starry Sky.

The God Child's ability to grant wishes is temporarily wielded in a limited fashion. Since the Noble Phantasm is realized by focusing on Master's single wish to protect humanity, a trusting relationship is absolutely essential to success.

Her older brother told her that wishes should be made on the stars instead of the moon, and she still holds that belief. The Earth's moon that shines with the wishes of so many instead casts its light into the great beyond.

She could not live a normal life. She was merely a vessel who granted people's wishes. Her tremendous intellect enabled her to understand her role and purpose: that she is unnecessary, that she is only a tool. And then a young man named Shirou, who wanted simply to be her older brother, saved her...

It was an older brother's humble prayer for his younger sister. And that wish is granted...through their separation.

The girl finally learns to stand on her own feet. The ground that her bare feet touched was cold, but the thought of her brother, though a world apart, continues to warm Miyu's heart.
