Salome

Salome was the adopted daughter of Herod Antipas, who was one of the four tetrarchs that ruled the Galilee and Perea regions. During this period, Israel was under Roman rule, so he was technically an acting governor.

She fell in love with John the Immerser, otherwise known as John the Baptist. Leveraging the fact that her adopted father King Herod was in love with her, she executed a plan to have John all to herself. As King Herod forbade the Baptist from ever setting foot outside his prison, Salome seduced King Herod to convince him to behead John...

And so she gained the head of her beloved.

Her name is never mentioned in the New Testament, but in Antiquities of the Jews, written by Jewish historian Flavius Josephus, the name Salome appears.

A girl of madness who has drowned herself in love who kisses bloody lips.

She is a dancer who captivated even her adoptive father, the king, and she covers herself with a thin veil.

She is vicious and cruel, and she is excited at the sight of her loved one's blood.

She was just a pure girl during her lifetime, but it's assumed that she manifested in the mental state from the moment she fell in love and went mad.

Communication is possible, but Salome's mental state as a Servant is constantly broken.

While it may look like conversation is established on a surface level, one must remain wary.

As someone who was supposed to have offered her love only to John the Immerser, the Servant Salome pours out her love generously. In other words, she shows affection even to her enemies.

If controlled properly, she should operate as a powerful Berserker, but every time she kills a targeted loved one, Salome's mind deteriorates further.

The scene "John the Immerser's head plated on a dish and offered to the young girl" offered vivid inspiration to the artists that came afterward, and multiple religious works of art came out between the Renaissance and Baroque periods.

Through these works of art, numerous speculations on Salome's motives were made.

In the 19th century, French novelist Gustave Flaubert's short story titled "Hérodias" gave the cause of the incident as the ambition of Herodias, who feared John's influential power, and that Salome was merely an accomplice to the incident.

Later, Oscar Wilde released a play titled "Salome" in 1893, which was later adapted into an opera by Richard Strauss. It was from this that the terrifying image of Salome falling in love with Jokanaan (John) and seeking his head became notorious.

A trophy that Salome gained through yearning, insanity, and fresh blood...in other words, it's the crystallized head of John the Baptist.

Normally palm-sized, but able to grow or shrink at Salome's will.

There were many legends that John the Baptist exercised various magecraft disciplines, so his head is a mass of Mystics, almost like a type of Mystic Code. Its possessor should be able to make use of many magecrafts...even if they don't have any circuits.

At the time of True Name Revelation, the crystal skull becomes gigantic and preys on the enemy. At the highest level of Ascension, the skull changes from crystal to gold.

Salome correctly understands what the relationship between a Master and Servant is meant to be.

She does...but as her and her Master's bonds deepen and grow more intimate, she will eventually desire to "own" her Master.

She will seek...

...their head.

As she is aware that she cannot maintain her manifestation if Master loses their life, she will not actively attempt to take their head, but if the right opportunity arises...

Will she be able to resist...?
