Dossier #02: The Angel's Season

But at the peak of his bliss, Antoine was struck with grief.

His only daughter, Angela, was diagnosed with a terminal illness.

His baby girl's gentle smile was slowly growing weaker by the day.

His once warm and happy home fell cold in an instant.

As she reached school-age, the hospital gave him the news that there was no hope of a cure.

At the age of ten, Angela went to church hand in hand with her mother, and each night the family came together in prayer.

As three years went by, the Martinez couple became more and more uneasy.

A happiness that had no certain end slowly began to drain them.

Then one spring, Angela fell from the swing.

Her fever spiked almost immediately, and she began to cough up blood.

Antoine drove through the night, his eyes wide despite the tears threatening to spill.

As dawn neared, the unthinkable occured: an accident on the road.

"No, Mary...! Angela! Wake up!"

His wife had lost consciousness in the back seat, while Angela coughed weakly over her shoulder.

Waiting for an ambulance would take too long.

Inside the crushed and mangled car, Antoine was overcome with despair.

And in that moment, he wanted to destroy everything.

And so, Antoine rose. He crushed the car's frame within his grasp as if it were paper and ripped apart the vehicle pinning his family down.

Carrying his daughter on one shoulder and his wife on the other, he began to run through the rain in a frenzy.

"Please, God."

Dossier #04: The One Who Prays

Outside the operating room, Antoine had lost even the strength to pray, and he sat there for a long time, shedding tears as he waited for his family.

And the following day, three pieces of good fortune came his way.

First, his daughter, Angela Martinez, had escaped the accident without major external injuries.

Second, his wife, Mary Martinez, soon regained consciousness, her fractures only minor.

Third, as a result of the accident, Antoine Martinez awakened as a hunter, gaining immense strength along with the remarkable ability to heal wounds.

Yet the next day, and the day after... Angela Martinez never opened her eyes.

The couple never left their daughter's hospital room.

Though Antoine needed to register as a hunter, he did nothing but watch over his daughter.

At night, a faint healing light would spill out through the crack of the hospital room door.

On a bright spring morning, Angela stopped breathing.

Dossier #05: Savior

After Angela's death, Antoine began working as a hunter.

As if burning away every moment, he devoted himself completely, pushing his powers to its limits.

Day after day, he fought until his body was broken, then returned home to drown himself in hard liqour.

He would cry himself to sleep, then wake up in Angela's room.

Then he accidentally found a small treasure: Angela's diary.

The clumsy yet gentle words were filled with stories of all the happiness Angela had known.

As he slowly read through the pages under the moonlight, nearing the end, Antoine instinctively realized it was the diary entry she had written the night before she collpased.

"Mommy is really kind, and daddy is really strong!"

"Daddy's going to punish all the bad people, save all the good people, and then come see me."

"I can wait every day."

"Because I'm a really good girl!"

With tears clouding his vision, Antoine cried out in anguish.

Then he made up his mind.

"That's right, Angela. Your daddy is very strong."

"So, I'll save them all again."

"Watch over me, Angela. My sweet little angel."

His green eyes glowed brightly.

"I, Antoine Martinez... will save everyone."
