Appearance

Mayano Top Gun is an umamusume who has long chestnut orange hair in a short-tailed two side up hairstyle as well as orange eyes.

She wears a brown bandana around her right ear.

Her design is clearly influenced by the movie Top Gun (her jacket is nearly identical to that worn by Maverick).

While not exactly dressed to fly a Tomcat, a Super Hornet, or a Lightning II, her racing outfit consists of a yellow, green and white set of short shorts with the lower half of a parachute harness with ejection seat handles and crop top under a bomber jacket adorned with many badges.

She also wears a pair of brown thighhighs, sneakers and a pair of dog tags.

When it came to promote Top Gun: Maverick (or, rather, due to her very presence), she was the natural choice to advertise the movie.

A rambunctious young genius of an Umamusume who seeks affection from everyone she meets.

Having a pilot for a father, Mayano Top Gun often mixes aviation lingo into her speech.

Her tendency to obsess over whatever new and exciting thing is in front of her betrays how far she is from becoming the mature, sophisticated lady of her dreams.

However, she does possess incredible intuition and an almost supernatural sense of the right thing to do in any situation.

Mayano Top Gun has long orange hair that reaches past her lower back.

Her sidelocks extend past her chest. The sides of her hair are styled in small pigtails that jut out sideways before curling inwards.

Her right ear is adorned by a dark brown cloth ribbon tied in a simple knot.

She has large, round eyes that are a deep golden shade.

Mayano Top Gun's racing outfit predominantly features a military-green bomber jacket with a dark brown fur collar.

The jacket itself is emblazoned with several patches on both sides of the chest, down the length of both arms, and the back.

Beneath the jacket, Mayano Top Gun wears a green, white, and yellow crop top that leaves her midriff exposed, and wears a set of military-style dog tags around her neck.

She also wears white short shorts with gold accents on the edges, with a dark green strap belt around her waist.

Two additional belts run up the inside of her thighs towards the sides of her main belt, giving an appearance similar to a pilot's harness.

The sides of her shorts also feature two decorative black-and-yellow striped rings that heavily resemble the ejection handles of an F-14 fighter jet.

Her legs are clad with dark brown thigh-high stockings with yellow and white detailing stripes, with the top of both stockings featuring a decorative strap similar to the ones on her shorts.

She wears brown boots with yellow and red detailing stripes.

And if Mayano ever finds out Nature lies about any of the advice, Nature takes advantage of Mayano's gullibility and flatters her, making her drop the subject.

Curren Chan - Friend. They usually go out shopping for trends and fashion, and Mayano comes to Curren for tips on fashion accesories, and Curren even lends Mayano fashion items.

Hishi Akebono - Friend. They both go shopping together, and discuss trends.

Maruzensky - Friend. They hang out together, and Maruzensky gives advice on how to be an adult, though her advice is a bit dated.

Super Creek - Friend.

Narita Brian - Rival. Mayano views her as twinkly, and wants to beat her.

While Brian finds her annoying, deep down she is interested in Mayano's strength.

Mayano also likes to bug Brian from time to time in daily life, as she pesters her to admit that her wedding racewear is cute.

In real life, the two of them were both sired by Brian's Time.

They were both Horse of the Year, 1994 and 1995 respectively, and raced against each other three times: 1995 Arima Kinen, 1996 Hanshin Daishoten, and 1996 Tenno Sho Spring.

Hishi Amazon - Friend. Hishi Amazon wants Mayano to take racing seriously, so she helps her with training.

Durandal - Friend. With her intellect, Mayano can easily detect that something was wrong with Durandal after her debut, and noticed that she suffered an injury.

Durandal is impressed by her intelligence, and considers her to be as wise as a sage.
