Drinking has become an integral part of his life.

In order to satiate his appetite, the Rum-Nose once smuggled a sack full of spirits onto the battlefield and got drunk on guard duty.

For this, he was hung on the rack for a whole day by his own officer as a punishment for his negligence.

But the Rum-Nose had no remorse.
