In the mists of Tya, Yuri moves like the fire she commands: captivating, fierce, and wholly untamed.

Before the Isle of Uzimo was reduced to ashes, Yuri's voice had been its soul— a celebrated musician whose songs could still the fiercest storms.

She was beloved by all, Kigiri included, as her melodies brought the warriors a rare solace, a tether to the peace they sought amid the turmoil of their duties.

However, when the Nightmare Council invaded, that harmony was shattered, along with Yuri, who would seemingly vanish into obscurity.

It wasn't until years later, when Yuri reappeared under the wing of the Nightmare Council, that whispers of her transformation began to spread.

Much like the Isle itself, she appeared to have fallen victim to a cruel fate, burned to the ground and resurrected from the ashes, reborn in the spirit of chaos and revenge.

Her demeanor, once sweet and endearing, had become deceptive and caustic.

Her talents, a beautiful voice and supple figure, were abandoned to pursue the art of exacting pain on those who stood in her way.

Though much about Yuri's excruciating transformation remains uncertain, it is surmised that the Nightmare Council intentionally spared her life, with the intent of breaking her spirit and forging her as a weapon against Kigiri and the Watchguard.

For, while the Black Blade no longer harbored the Kami they sought, the spirit lived on inside the mind of its wielder, and after all, what better way to lure out this perpetrator than with his very own kin?

Trust, to the Nightmare Council, was but a tool— a fragile connection most easily manipulated— and once broken, nearly impossible to repair.

While it was true that Kigiri would approach Yuri, it was done in secret, at the edges of their respective paths, neither as friend nor enemy, but perhaps something more complex.

Their exchanges were brief and wordless, yet she sensed that her presence offered him a balm to his turmoil, her voice reaching out to the Kami within him, calming its fury even as it threatened to consume his soul.

Though Kigiri did not understand the depths of her transformation, he sensed her quiet sympathy, an unspoken bond that neither the Council nor the Watchguard could sever.

For, even though their allegiances divided them, as survivors, they had suffered the same twisted fate.

Even when commanded to act against him, Yuri could not bring herself to harm Kigiri.

Instead, her acts of defiance were subtle and dangerous: At times, a path suddenly cleared before him, or a hostile blade mysteriously faltered.

Kigiri sensed these quiet interventions, though he did not fully understand them, and in turn, his unwavering presence soothed the tempest within her.

She is a fire uncontained, and he, a steady rock weathering her storm.

Their connection, rooted in the music of a bygone era, hums with both nostalgia and the ache of what might have been.
