Deutschland deals up to 30% more damage against destroyers and light cruisers, which lets her run at high output for nearly an entire fight on the right maps. Her special main gun fires in a parabolic arc more typical of a battleship, making it easier to hit moving targets and even bypass shields, and her alpha strike fires every six main-gun shots for heavy armor-piercing damage.

Deutschland has black hair with a white and red streak on the front left side of her head with the white forelock being larger and on top of the smaller "liquid" or "thunderbolt" like red steak.

Given that her name is "Deutschland", this may be a reference to the German Empire with its black, white, and red flag.

However it can also be a reference to the flag she flew when she was built - the Marine Jack (Kriegsgösch) - that was in service during her construction as she was built during the reign of the Reichsmarine (1921-31) and not the Kriegsmarine (1935-45).

The most likely reason for her hair, however, is how she was painted in the Spanish Civil War in 1936.

Her cannons and turrets were painted with large black, white, and red bands to show her neutral status more clearly from the air.

Most German cruisers had three triple gunned turrets like the Konigsberg- and Leipzig-class, or four double-gunned turrets like the Admiral Hipper Class.

The Deutschland class ships had two triple turrets that can be seen on her left and right (historically, they were on her aft and forward ends).

Deutschland and Admiral Graf Spee's larger-than-average rigging compared to that of other cruisers in the game is attributed to their status as "pocket battleships" given they had 6 large 28 cm SK C/28 naval guns (3 in each of their 2 turrets) which were very large for a cruiser.

To give an example, Prinz Eugen's guns were 20.3 cm.

Prinz Eugen had a displacement of 17,000 tons compared to Deutschland's 12,600 tons, and she was 212.5 meters long compared to Deutschlands 186 meters (26.5 meter difference).

Longer barreled versions of Deutschland's guns were also fitted on Scharnhorst and Gneisenau when they were built in 1935.

Her hat is reminiscent of German naval caps during World War II.

Personality

Deutschland's very arrogant, cocky, and narcissistic attitude is most likely derived from her namesake being her home country, Deutschland (Germany).

However, in her memory as Secretary, it is explained she acts this way due to having a lackluster career as a ship despite her namesake and firepower, her renaming, and her capture by the Northern Parliament.

Historically, the Lutzow that was sold and refloated was an unfinished Admiral Hipper-class ship that was renamed "Tallinn" by the Soviets.

Deutschland was renamed as "Lutzow" in 1940 after that earlier Admiral Hipper-class ship due to the concern that if Deutschland was sunk while she had the proud name of the country, it would be a propaganda disaster.

She remained in the Kreigsmarine until sunk in shallow waters by RAF fighters in 1945.

She was then used as a stationary gunship until her munitions were expended.

For a long time, Deutschland (Elite rarity) had the highest FP of any Vanguard ship, only surpassed by Large cruiser Azuma (Decisive) and recently beaten again by Prinz Heinrich (Super Rare).

Her high FP is attributed to her very large caliber main guns for a cruiser.

Other

Deutschland and her sister, Admiral Graf Spee, can equip the 283mm(SK C/28) as this was the gun she was equipped with historically.

The only other ships that can equip this variant of the Triple 283 (the other Variant being the 283mm (SK C/34)) are Prinz Heinrich and Azuma.

Obtainable via large construction (build time 1:55:00), or as a drop from stages B1/B4/C4/D1/D4 of the event 'Mirrored Divergence.'
