Is Jupiter good?
A J-class destroyer that protects battleships: while she's alive, your battleships and battlecruisers take up to 15% less damage. The cut only covers those two ship types, so 
Fortune and 
Foxhound, whose retrofits give a similar reduction to any main fleet ship, are easier to fit in, though Jupiter has hers without a retrofit.
Royal Navy main fleets are full of battleships and battlecruisers anyway, so there the narrow target list doesn't matter. Her torpedo stat and efficiency are high enough to do real damage as well.
