Appearance

Calstone Light O is an umamusume with long jet black hair, with a long white streak which curves to the right.

She also has two golden yellow ear covers, with her right cover having a small chain with a golden yellow braid on it.

She has bright yellow eyes.

Calstone Light O is the first umamusume based on a horse on Godolphin Barb's sire line.

Her father is a prosecutor while her mother is a scientist.

Ironically, her mother researches the science behind light.

Career

Calstone Light O was a specialist in 1200m sprints, and also competed in 1000m dash races.

In 2002, he set the Niigata 1000m course record with a finishing time of 53.7 seconds in his victory at the 2002 Ibis Summer Dash.

The record held until 2026, when Puro Magic won the race with a time of 53.5 seconds.

Biography

"What I'm after is the maximum speed. I'll be faster than anyone—faster than a deer, or even a pronghorn!"

She's cool, she's straight as an arrow, and she's hardheaded—for she is Captain Straight-line!

In pursuit of "the maximum speed", this stiff-necked Umamusume simple-mindedly and stoically charges forward on her path to the peak of fastness.

As long as she's the fastest, she'd be faster than anyone!

In other words, she'd be the one with the maximum speed!

Anyway, she's undeniably honest and straightforward, being the kind of person who's open about both her feelings and actions.

Calstone Light O, the fastest, has straight, long black hair that reaches her waist, and a distinct solid white cowlick swept to the right side of her head.

She wears yellow ear coverings on both ears, and has a yellow tassel shaped ornament adorning her right ear cover.

Her eyes are a piercing yellow, with black pupils.

Calstone Light O's racing outfit consists of a dark blue double-breasted jacket with long, frilled sleeves, and a white frilled skirt.

The front of the jacket is adorned with golden buttons, and red buckled decorations on the upper arm of both sleeves.

The inside collar of the jacket matches the golden buttons with a bright yellow diamond-shaped inner pattern.

The jacket also has red colored shoulder decorations, matched by the red colored ascot that Calstone Light O wears.

Above the skirt is a leather belt with golden decorations, with a single blue diamond shaped gem at its center.

A yellow string is tied around her waist under the belt, the knot sitting neatly where the white frilled skirt is.

Under the white frilled skirt are a pair of white shorts and black pantyhose, with a black garter on her right thigh, adorned with a golden pattern running across it.

She wears mismatched black and white heeled shoes, with the right shoe resembling a boot that almost reaches her knee, and her left shoe reaching just past her ankle.

Durandal - Friend, classmate, roommate and rival.

Durandal gets exasperated with Light O's strange behavior, especially with how blunt Light O can be.

However, she does view her not only as a notable rival, she appreciates her friendship, and even goes along with Light O's strange antics sometimes.

Believe - Friend, classmate, and rival. Despite differing personalities, Believe gets along with Light O, and views her as a good friend alongside rival.

Light O likes her company, but gets frustrated when she sees Believe's racewear and tries to zip up every zipper on it, much to Believe's annoyance.

Sakura Bakushin O - Friend and rival in the pursuit of speed.

They train together, and Light O wants to surpass Bakushin in being the fastest Umamusume.

K.S.Miracle - Friend. Though blunt, Light O does show concern for Miracle's health, and tries to reach out to her in her own way.

Agnes Tachyon - Friend. Tachyon is one of the few Umamusume to not find Light O's dream to be the fastest as strange, and in fact has a similar dream herself.

While Light O does not fully understand Tachyon's experiments, she is willing to help her out when they are related to light.

Jungle Pocket - Friend. They hang out together, and sometimes go out to eat.

Godolphin Barb - Friend. Godolphin Barb watches over Light O, and is one of the few Umamusume to support her dream of becoming the fastest Umamusume.

Godolphin Barb also helps Light O with her dream by making custom VR simulations for her.

IRL, Calstone Light O is Godolphin Barb's distant descendant through his sire-line.

She was announced during the PakaLive TV Vol.42 stream on June 24th, 2024.

Calstone Light O is tied with Kiseki and Victoire Pisa, having the 5th shortest time gap from introduction to being playable trainee, with 25 days between when she was first announced and when she was added as a trainee, behind Phalaenopsis at 20 days, Transcend at 19 days, Gran Alegria at 17, and Dream Journey's immediate banner.

Her love for cats is a possible reference to her real life ancestor, Godolphin Arabian, in which he was noted to be friends with a cat named Grimalkin.

She tends to yell loudly in her sleep.

She has the ability to run on water.

She celebrates New Year's as early as December.

She tends to dream herself racing against animals like jaguars and pronghorns in her mind.

She tends to lose her wallet due to her speed.

In her good ending, Light O shows intense interest in overseas racing, and Durandal and Believe briefly help her out with planning her trip.

This is a reference to how all of three of them have competed in Hong Kong at some point, with Believe having competed in 2002, while both Calstone Light O and Durandal competed in 2004.

She likes to watch underwater diving videos.

One of her favorite snacks is yokan.

She is particular about her skincare products, because she wants to reduce friction in her skin.

She has the ability to catch fish with her bare hands.

Her goal to be faster than a pronghorn is a reference to an NHK quiz program that aired on May 24th, 2019, where one of the questions "what is the second-fastest land animal?" The answer was pronghorn, and Calstone Light O was used as a reference regarding speed.

Her father is a legal prosecutor, while her mother is an optical scientist.

In her solo song, O-Light-O, the lyric "53 byō 7" is a reference to her IRL counterpart's former record time, 53.7 seconds, in the 2002 Ibis Summer Dash.

Excluding the intro, the song's main section also lasts exactly 53.7 seconds as a tribute to that record.

This record, however, was beaten by Puro Magic by 0.2 seconds in the 2026 iteration.

Her white ahoge curving to the right is a reference to how the real Calstone Light O had a tendency to lean his head to the right when racing.

In her classic year, it is noted by the trainer that the Sprinters' Stakes is being held at Niigata Racecourse due to repairs.

While this did happen in real life, this happened in 2002 in which Believe was the victor of the race, which was Calstone Light O's four-year-old season.

In her classic year, she also achieves her speed record of 53.7 seconds in the Ibis Summer Dash (G3), though that happened in the four-year-old season in real life as well.

While at the hot springs, Calstone Light O tells her trainer that pumice stones can be used for foot care.

This is a reference to her traditional Chinese name (specifically the one on the TW servers instead of the HKJC one, as it was different), which means "Pumice Light O".
