How artificing works

Only gold gear can be artificed, and each of its three stats can go up 3 times, by a fixed amount each time. An attempt spends one piece of gold gear of the same kind (armor for armor, gloves for gloves, kits for kits) and one Wuling Artificing Catalyst. The piece you spend has to have the same stat, starting at least as high as it does on the gear you're improving.

Every attempt has a small chance to succeed outright, a little better when the spent piece's stat starts higher (the game tags it a Good Match). Failed attempts fill a progress bar, and once it's full the next attempt can't fail. For most stats that takes 6, 12, 20 attempts for the first, second and third level; the gear with a single attribute takes twice as many on that attribute. You can queue up to 25 pieces at once, and whatever isn't used comes back when an attempt lands.
