BLEACH: Soul Resonance battle mechanics

Every character has one of five types and one of three classes. Type is what team passives count: Kensei's Ultimate shortens his teammates' cooldowns further for each other Strike character on the team, and Byakuya's Battlefield Skill cuts Slash Resistance. Class says how a character plays: on the field dealing damage, buffing and debuffing from the team, or hitting from the bench with a Battlefield Skill.
