Is Alice (Gullveig) good?
Alice keeps buffs alive longer than they'd otherwise last, since Crystal Shards extends buff duration on top of granting Crit Rate Up (and Speed Up once ascended). Her passive then hands Attack Up to any ally already carrying a buff at the start of her turn, stacking value on top of value, while Star Stream can pull in a random ally to assist on her attacks.
That buff-extension engine is why she's rated A.
Strengths
- extends ally buff durations
- grants Crit Rate Up and eventually Speed Up
- passive buffs already-buffed allies further
- can call in random allies to assist
Profile
Her birthday is December 27, 2000, and she stands 172cm tall.
Background
Alice, a legendary witch who can cast blessing spells, is usually seen near the Miracle.
She is not very social but she’s always looking into anything about the occult.
With the divine power of Gullveig, she wanders around, trying to uncover the secrets of the Miracles.
Alice is a well-read and curious woman with the goal to study and comprehend the Miracle phenomenon.
Having always had an interest in the occult and the forbidden, she was ousted from her family once she awakened to her Esper powers.
Since then, she has suffered from trust issues and hides her face from the world under the disguise of a witch doing good deeds and helping the injured.
Meeting Narmer restored some of her faith in the people around her, and only rekindled her interest in understanding the Miracles.
Appearance
Despite being a 27-year-old woman, Alice appears somewhat older due to her short, coiffed gray hair.
This, along with her purple eyes, are the only noticeable signs of her Esper transformation.
Alice dresses in an extravagant fashion, making her stand out even among fellow Espers.
The most notable piece among her wardrobe is the big, asymmetric silver coat loosely hanging off her shoulders and wrapped around her body.
The coat features several circle shaped embellishments, as well as her signature fur collar looking like a growth of bluish-purple crystals.
Towards the bottom, the coat is held together by two rather large, intricate purple broaches connected by a string of pearls.
Underneath the coat, Alice visibly wears a simple, dark grey camisole.
In terms of accessories, Alice has no shortage of adornments.
On her head rests her iconic purple-yet-translucent witch hat.
In addition to the hat, Alice also decorates her head with strings of pearls and occasional star-shaped ornaments, like the one on her forehead.
Her arms are covered by long, lavender gloves, matching the color of her lavender high-heels.
In her right hand, Alice wields a long, white scepter with a dislocated lavender gem slowly rotating on the tip.
The Crystal's Answers: She is unable to contain her curiosity about the Miracles,
though this path has caused her great pain:
whether being abandoned by her family
or being caught up in a whirlwind of strife.
But she believes that one day,
the crystal will provide the answers she's looking for.
Career 1: Alice is witch who cures. You said there’s a fabulously dressed woman chanting some sort of incantation in a dark alley?
Well, congrats! You might have just witnessed the famous witch who goes around spreading blessings.
Name’s Alice.
There are rumors about a mysterious witch traveling near Miracles and helping those who have survived Miramon attacks with blessing spells.
She hides her face under the wide brim of her trademark purple hat.
With a graceful wave of her scepter and a quiet whisper, she seals even the most hideous wound in no time.
Truth be told, all the rituals are just for show.
Alice uses no magic or witchcraft. She heals with the curative power of Gullveig.
Career 2: Alice is powered by curiosity.
Alice has been an avid reader since a very tender age, particularly on the subject of occultism.
She often spends the better part of the day immersed in books, including some rather arcane tomes of old.
As the advent of Miracles changed the world, Alice tried to discover their true nature in the library but to no avail.
Seeing that documented knowledge couldn’t answer all her questions, she embarked on a journey of discovery after her transformation.
There’s only one goal: figuring out the nature of Miracles.
Career 3: Alice once had trust issues. Alice was born to a family of traditional values.
Perhaps “conservative” would probably be a better word.
Her studies in occultism were barely tolerated.
With her transformation and the manifestation of her powers, she was ousted from the family as this was seen as some form of witchcraft.
Ever since that, Alice started to have trust issues.
She took on the disguise of a witch and started treating people’s ailments for a living.
Rumors began to spread. Some people exaggerated her powers, causing others to be disappointed when they met her.
Soon, she was shunned as a fraud.
In her darkest hour, Narmer offered help.
Out of habit, Alice tried to turn down the offer but was eventually convinced by Narmer’s sincerity.
That moment cracked her shell a bit – maybe trusting people wasn’t so bad after all.
The world doesn’t need to be so desperate a place, and she doesn’t need to be alone.
Career 4: Alice is obsessed with the secret of Miracles.
There are many reasons why people study Miracles, with both selfish and altruistic intentions in mind.
Alice does it for nobody at all, solely out of curiosity.
She still keeps vivid memories of those good old days spent under the sun, in the company of books of myths and legends that kindled the fire in her.
The journey of exploration is full of misjudgments and obstacles, but none will dissuade her from her pursuits.
