Is Badrun (Khonsu) good?

Badrun works both sides of the HP bar: he permanently shrinks enemy max HP with Crescent Slash and Soul Reap, while handing Omnipotent Elixir to whichever ally needs it most. Soul Reap also strips Invincibility and Standoff off the enemy team before targeting their tankiest member, chipping their max HP down as the fight goes on.

That combination of sustained team support and permanent enemy shrinkage is a big part of why he's rated S.

Strengths

  • permanently reduces enemy max HP over time
  • prioritizes support toward the ally who needs it most
  • dispels Invincibility and Standoff before attacking
  • targets the tankiest enemy for extra max HP reduction

Profile

His birthday is January 21, 2004, and he stands 175cm tall.

Background

Career 1 / Strange Pharmacist: Badrun is a pharmacist and a wordsmith.

He may have a prim and proper appearance, but Badrun has a habit of summoning chaos when he speaks.

Once he gets going on a subject, be it herbal medicine, mysticism, or the origin of all things, no one can interrupt his soliloquies and daydreams.

Nevertheless, Badrun is a skilled pharmacist with a particular talent for creating traditional herbal medicine.

It's often said that the only thing less reliable than Badrun is not relying on him.

In any case, Badrun is far too immersed in his own inner world to care about how others see him.

Career 2 / Panacea: Born to a family of herbalists, Badrun has been working with herbs since a young age.

Orphaned during the destruction of Geran, he found his way to Debia to make a living on the streets.

With Khonsu's power, he was able to dish out damage and heal his allies, earning him a reputation among the gangs.

On hearing that one of the gangs was using an Esper child for their own purposes, Lateef decided to investigate the matter.

Badrun's talent for medicine was clear for Lateef to see, and so he decided to take the child under his wing.

Knowing that House Ramses controlled a vast pharmaceutical empire, Badrun agreed to join Lateef and expressed his desire to create a "panacea".

Career 3 / Life-Saving Medicine: Lateef tasked Drew with giving the child a proper education, but the butler soon found that it was nearly impossible to deal with Badrun's eccentric personality.

Ollie, on the other hand, had no trouble getting along with Badrun—it was good to be around someone his own age.

Upon further inquiry, Lateef learned that Badrun's "panacea" was, in fact, a type of quick-acting medicine.

The child's parents had died a slow and painful death because they received treatment too late, and the panacea would guarantee that no one else would suffer such a fate.

Badrun made rapid progress in his studies and soon became a full-fledged pharmacist.

With Lateef's support, he began developing his own medicine.

Though Badrun never acknowledged it explicitly, as time went by, he came to see Lateef as his mentor.

Career 4 / Watcher: But even the best medicine can't treat a fatal gunshot wound.

After Lateef was assassinated, House Ramses fell apart.

While many fled Debia, Badrun decided to remain and await Ollie's return.

When Ollie finally did return, Badrun's first instinct was not to declare his allegiance.

Rather, he gave Ollie a thrashing, then treated his old friend's wounds with his now-completed panacea.

Badrun expressed his pity that Lateef could not see that their efforts had paid off.

He said that even though Ollie was not strong enough to retake Debia yet, it did not matter—he would always be a loyal ally of House Ramses.

Now, Badrun and Ollie bide their time, vowing to return House Ramses to its rightful place in Debia.
