Hailey leans on her equipment set effects to boost her Defense while still bringing real AoE damage. Flaming Forge hits harder against high HP targets and heals her back in the process, and Soul of a Smithy spreads Molten Hot and Sear across the whole enemy team while granting allies a buff called Smelting Mastery.

Clankin' Away rounds it out with single-target Defense Down. That gear-dependent tank-and-damage hybrid is enough for an A rating.

Hellfire Forger: She wields her tools, crafting her self-proclaimed masterpieces.

Even if her creations, born of dedication and emotions, are regarded as useless inventions by others,

She doesn't care and remains indifferent.

Career 1: The "QuirkTechReject" with over a million views.

With a slight drop of her eyes, Hailey scanned the comments, her expression blank yet somehow yearning.

She turned off her live stream and tossed her phone atop the mountain of clutter that had long been piled up, turning her eyes to the newly completed "Best QuirkTech of the Year".

It was a fishing rod made of iron alloy and as thick as a marble column.

The lure was equipped with a sonar emitter that could be energized with Divine Power, allowing it to echolocate targets at greater distances than ordinary sonar.

It could also emit ultrasound waves to imitate fish courtship signals.

"It's really a work of art," Hailey mused as she shouldered her invention and walked out of the lab.

Career 2 / A melancholy engineer.: Despite her talent in engineering, Hailey's attitude toward life was one of just barely scraping by.

It was typical for her to slack off and self-sabotage halfway through drawing a blueprint.

And at times like that, Hyde would step in.

With these periodic "visits" from Hyde, Hailey had no choice but to pick up her hammer and use it to either improve the weaponry of the Shadow Decree or to assist with Hyde's "Miracle destruction" research.

Hailey didn't seem to have any other hobbies.

She'd often shut herself in her office all day, obsessed with her inventions.

On the occasional break, however, Hailey's gaze would linger on the photo on her desk.

Career 3 / An unrecoverable past.: The photo showed a girl leaning close to Hailey, a beaming smile on her face.

The girl's name was Sasha, and she'd once been Hailey's best friend.

After receiving the Divine Power of Hephaestus, Hailey thought she could amuse her friend by using her newfound abilities to invent things, but as it turns out, Sasha detested Espers.

After learning that Sasha had joined an anti-Esper organization and might be in danger at a protest march, Hailey hurried to the subway station in Tangton, but Sasha had already started handing out flyers, ignoring all warnings.

In the end, Hailey managed to reach the subway and repair the subway tracks with Divine Power, but it cost her a week's stay in the hospital.

After she awoke, Hailey gave Sasha some documents and some photos she'd taken at the scene, then cut off all contact with her.

Career 4: A future of just barely getting by.

Wiping the sweat from her brow, Hailey pushed aside the photo and began fiddling with her 9x9 Rubik's cube, as if time would pass faster with each turn.

The Miracles might keep coming, or the world might come to an end.

So what? None of it had to do with Hailey.

She was already tired of life, so why'd she need to think about all that?

"There's a new request, Hailey." Hyde stood in the doorway to Hailey's office, a blank expression on his face as he handed her a blueprint.

After becoming an engineer with the Shadow Decree, Hailey only needed to fill her days tinkering with inventions.

That's not such a bad way to get by, is it?
