Ten years ago you led the way for me, and now it's my turn.

Mavis' visible leg bones were removed.

Career 1: A jack-o'-lantern for guiding the spirits.

Mavis is a renowned "spirit guide" in Gyrate.

She often carries a jack-o'-lantern and walks the streets and alleys in search of lost souls, to help them fulfill their last wishes.

One day, late at night, Mavis sees a cat's spirit nearby, looking up and gazing at a lost cat notice.

Seeing Mavis approach, it rubs against her shin endearingly, meowing twice.

Following the address shown on the notice, Mavis takes the cat home.

Its owner is an old lady. When she sees Mavis, she seems to have understood something and says smilingly at the cat bed on the side, "Welcome home."

Mavis watches the cat snuggle into the bed, makes a sound in acknowledgement, and slowly disappears.

Career 2: Believes in happy funerals. To Mavis, death is never a sad thing.

Born into a mortician family, she was taught to "face the cycle of life with a smile" from a young age.

The way her parents conduct funerals is also different, making sure burials are a joyful affair without sorrow.

Under her parents' influence, Mavis always attended funerals with a genuine and innocent smile, bringing solace to the guests.

A miracle separated Mavis from her parents.

She was rescued by Feng Nuxi and brought to a camp.

Watching the crowd evacuate, Mavis nonetheless chose to stay put and wait.

However, the people she was waiting for never appeared.

Career 3 / Listens to final wishes.: Seeing Mavis constantly waiting for her parents, Feng Nuxi decided to bring her to search for them.

In the end, they discovered her parents' bodies.

After seeing her parents' dreadful end, the young Mavis fell into a coma and a long dream.

In the dream, Mavis and her parents were conducting a happy funeral for the dead, and she was astonished by her ability to see spirits and hear them share their final wishes.

Mavis then decided to help each of them fulfill their wishes.

The intrusion of Miramon interrupted the dream.

After waking up, Mavis was fully transformed and possessed the same ability from her dream––communicating with spirits.

Feng Nuxi sent Mavis to the Esper Union to hone her ability.

Having frequent contact with spirits, she embarked on a path to help them fulfill their last wishes.

Career 4: The journey home one eventually embarks upon.

The opal bracelet on Mavis' wrist had belonged to their parents.

Through the aura from the bracelet, she could confirm that her parents' souls are safe and in peace.

After becoming a member of the Logistics Division, Mavis had initially planned to return to her hometown and find her parents' souls.

However, the rampage of Miramon made her halt her plans.

While waiting to return home, Mavis discovered that there were many lost souls wandering in Gyrate.

Therefore, she took it upon herself to be their guide, to help each and every soul find their own path home.
