Career 1 / An unorthodox doctor.: Rumors about a rather unorthodox doctor have spread across Grandis.

They say she is covered in scars, that she never smiles or asks her patients' names, and that her medical abilities are so advanced that she can even bring sufferers of terminal illness back from the brink of death.

That "unorthodox doctor" is Ossana, an Esper with the power of Xipe Totec.

She pays no attention to the rumors that surround her—all that matters is whether her treatment fees are paid on time.

And her ability to bring patients "back from the brink of death"?

It stems from her divine power, which allows her to transfer their wounds and infections to her own body and suffer in their stead.

Career 2 / First, do no harm.: When she was young, Ossana lost both her parents to the coming of the Miracles.

Severely injured in the disaster, she was nursed back to health and adopted by a doctor called Alana.

To repay Alana for her kindness, Ossana swore to follow in her footsteps and save lives by becoming a doctor too.

Ossana gave it her all and grew to become a renowned physician.

Accepting Alana's invitation, she headed to her mentor's hometown to provide her services to those in need.

The village came under attack from Miramon during the relief efforts, and it was at this point that Ossana's divine power was awakened, allowing her to repel the attack—yet she failed to save the life of Alana's own biological daughter.

With her already impressive medical skills augmented by her divine power, Ossana treated more and more people.

The town's residents came to see her as a miracle worker, with a constant stream of patients lining up outside her door.

Career 3 / Accidents and betrayals.: During a rescue operation in a collapsed Nexus Crystal mine, Ossana and a group of ordinary humans came under attack from Miramon and found themselves trapped deep underground.

As prolonged exposure to Divine Waves caused the rest of the rescue team to lose consciousness, Ossana exhausted herself in an effort to save them, but was only able to keep them alive in a vegetative state.

The townspeople refused to believe that Ossana was unable to heal them, and even began to suspect that she was the cause of the mine collapse.

As the rumors began to spread, Ossana decided that she would use her powers to heal them, even if it cost her life.

But on the eve of the procedure, Ossana discovered that the whole incident had been planned by Alana, in an act of revenge for her failure to save Alana's own daughter.

Disillusioned and furious, Ossana gathered the townspeople to witness the procedure, only to transfer the patients' illness onto the waiting crowd instead, leaving the place a ghost town and vanishing without a trace.

Career 4: The heart cannot be healed. The townspeople's ignorance and her mentor's betrayal made Ossana realize that no amount of medical skill could heal people's hearts.

Ossana decided that she would never again open her heart to another person.

She chose to become a back-alley doctor, distancing herself from people's petty affairs and squabbles, and freeing herself from organizations and their rules.

Since that moment, rumors have spread throughout Grandis about a doctor who can work miracles—if you're able to pay her fee.
