Toland moves fast and takes the fight to the enemy immediately, stealing buffs and taunting a target with his first skill while quietly building up Trackback stacks every turn. His big skill burns through those stacks to fire off a string of pursuit attacks at different enemies, and after ascension it strips the target's buffs before it even hits.

Even dying doesn't fully stop him, since his passive punishes whoever lands the killing blow by stripping their buffs and locking them down for two turns. That level of relentless pressure is why he's rated S tier.

manipulating people and organizing horrific incidents,

enjoying the evil little farce he has crafted.

Career 1: Obsidian Carving as a Game Toland has been working on this sculpture for three hours today already.

At the moment, his attention is completely absorbed with putting the finishing touches on his piece.

He is carving his piece out of obsidian, a stone no normal man can even leave a mark on.

Under Toland's chisel, the stone is pliant, he leaves deep grooves with each and every blow.

"Only an obsidian blade can carve obsidian." He quietly chuckles as he speaks, "It's much the same with people."

"There is no human art greater or more enjoyable than stirring up discord and disagreement between people."

Career 2 / Esper of Chaos: He may have taken on duties as a mentor in the training camp, but in his heart, Toland sees no one as his "student"; similarly, there's not a soul that dares relax or act freely in his presence.

"You are a perfect machine." He seems to be speaking to the obsidian itself, "And you are a defective product."

People fear him, fear who he is, fear his power, his mind--

"Master Toland." A Shadow Decree Member bows his head in reverence, "The mission is complete."

"Oh?" He raises his head and smiles a little, "In that case..."

"Let me see, who is next?"

Career 3: Playing the Hero for a Time Displaying incredible talent from an early age, Toland came into contact with the black market through his family's business, and got his first peek into the darker corners of the world.

A deeply entrenched system of social class, the distortions of a warped society...

... It all seemed terribly dull.

When the Miracles descended, his family was wiped out; he underwent his Transformation and role-played as a hero for a time.

He found the Esper Union's righteousness and fondness for law and order difficult to endure, and then the Esper Agreement drove him into a fury.

From that point on, he traveled the land stirring up trouble, delighting in destruction.

Career 4 / Toying with Fate: During the long uncomfortable stretch of time he spent imprisoned on the Sunrise Isles, he studied sculpture and took a special interest in carving statues.

Mankind's eyes look upon the world as smoky mirrors; human hands lifted tools and birthed all civilization, the same hands lift weapons and inflict brutality.

He gently brushes away a little stone dust with the tip of his finger and waits quietly for chaos to return.

He knows the cracks within the Union will grow wider, a door will slowly open through which monsters will step.

And then Hyde opens the door to Toland's cell and invites him to join the Shadow Decree, invites him to join them in creating a whole new world.

Escaping from imprisonment, Toland smiles a small intriguing little smile.

Within that smile, a yearning for chaos and a desire to laugh at fate.
