Is Zhong Nan (Zhong Kui) good?
Zhong Nan specializes in silencing enemies, first on a single target and then across the whole enemy team with his ultimate, which stretches their cooldowns further if they're already silenced. He can also strip an enemy's buffs while gaining action points himself, and once ascended, an enemy attacking him while his ultimate is down gives him an AP boost.
That silence-focused kit is enough for B tier.
Strengths
- Can silence a single target or the whole enemy team
- Strips enemy buffs while gaining his own action points
- Extends enemy cooldowns further when they're already silenced
Profile
His birthday is February 28, 1990, and he stands 180cm tall.
Background
Born in Utgard, Zhong Nan is now a marshal stationed at Raine Tundra and Raine’s Wall.
Wielding Zhong Kui's powers, he is deeply trusted by the locals.
Tired of the power struggles in Utgard, Zhong Nan has sworn to protect the people in the distant snowfields.
Career 1 / Just a warm-hearted guy.: Zhong Nan is sitting in the corner of a small restaurant, silently watching the snow as it falls outside the window.
As Raine Tundra is often covered in snow, Zhong Nan tends to spend his time sitting here, enjoying a hard-earned moment of tranquility.
Although he wears a long face, the spirits surrounding him add a lively air to this mean-looking marshal.
His tranquil moments are often interrupted by wailing children or nervous ladies nearby.
The local residents aren’t fazed by Zhong Nan’s gloomy aura because they’re always seeking his help for some trivial thing or another.
However big or small the issue is, Zhong Nan will definitely resolve the problem.
They all know that beneath the marshal’s solemn expression lies a warm heart.
Career 2: Occasionally missing his hometown.
People sometimes wonder why a marshal as capable as Zhong Nan would be willing to take a post protecting a sparsely populated place like the Raine Tundra.
Zhong Nan often replies with a laugh and a smile.
If one buys him a drink, he will be more than happy to share what he knows.
Be it hotspots in Utgard, popular restaurants, or must-buy souvenirs, he always has a tip for those visiting.
After a few drinks, he may even talk about the stories of his youth.
Born into a wealthy family, Zhong Nan followed his father’s footsteps and became a marshal.
Being young and proud back then, he did not understand the rules of the game in Utgard.
He experienced a lot of setbacks and was forced to leave his hometown.
One can see in his eyes that he still longs to go home.
Occasionally, he looks toward the other end of the snowfields, where Utgard is located.
Career 3: An old friend of his in the snowfields.
Deep in the desolate snowfields is an old friend of Zhong Nan’s, Aurelius.
Their relationship is a tumultuous one.
Zhong Nan met Aurelius when he was a youth.
Due to this connection, he became involved in the chaotic power struggle of Utgard.
In the end, Aurelius left Utgard, and Zhong Nan was transferred to Raine’s Wall to escape trouble that others caused for him.
They burst into laughter whenever they meet at their old diner in the snowfields.
It may be a mockery of fate or a destined reunion, but whatever it is, they always toast one another when they meet.
Career 4: A guardian in a distant land. Although Zhong Nan’s misfortunes have erased his youthful enthusiasm, he never complains.
Like Aurelius, this lonely wanderer is hiding something deep in himself.
He wishes he could change things but, at the same time, feels powerless to do so.
He’s never considered his move to the snowfields to be an exile because he can still look upon his beloved homeland from up here.
While there are only trivial matters for him to deal with, Zhong Nan always shows diligence and professionalism in everything he does.
This place might not be as prosperous as the big city, but it’s full of real human connections, something Zhong Nan truly enjoys.
However distant this place is, it remains a part of Utgard.
So, day after day, Zhong Nan sticks to his post, silently protecting this town and its residents.
