Elemental hypostases are life forms which have completely abandoned their former appearance and biological structure, making them able to reach the highest level of elemental purity. Research into hypostases is mainly led by scholars of Sumeru Akademiya, but due to the level of danger that they pose, little of substance is known about hypostases beyond their scientific name and code name.Anemo SlimeElemental LifeformsA small monster created by the coalescing of Anemo dispersed throughout nature. It is able to float in the air to a certain degree due to the power of Anemo.Anemo SpecterElemental LifeformsA monster birthed from a high concentration of Anemo that can float in the air. As reason might dictate, monsters made from coalesced Anemo already come equipped with the ability to float. As such, their petal-like wings are most likely to be a mimetic organ first and foremost.Blazing Brilliance: Frostnight ScionElemental LifeformsAn elegant elemental life form that possesses immense elemental affinity. The long years have exposed it to high concentrations of Pyro, resulting in its present form. One of the manifestations with the most violent temperament, even at the frigid edges of the world, it is wreathed in unquenchable flame. In still-extant prayers of the far north, it was born from the Frost Moon's blessings, symbolizing the pure source and the first radiance. Perhaps this is why it finds the tainting of its pale purity with the seven colors of heavenly light unbearable, thus rejecting all life that draws too close.Cryo HypostasisElemental LifeformsCode name: Daleth. A high-purity Cryo entity. Research suggests that there are subtle differences between elemental hypostases and other elemental life forms in terms of their physical composition. Perhaps these differences can account for their high level of homeostasis and their almost mechanical movements.Cryo SlimeElemental LifeformsA small monster created through the coagulation of Cryo in the natural environment. Competitors once spread malicious rumors that the Dawn Winery used Cryo Slimes to control the temperature of their wine cellar and preserve the quality of their alcohol.Cryo SpecterElemental LifeformsA monster born from highly-concentrated Cryo elements that can float in the air. A certain alchemist once studied these beings, speculating that they might be a kind of Slime or the Traveler, as none of the above needed a Vision to use the elements. He was reprimanded by his teacher.Dendro HypostasisElemental LifeformsCode Name: Zayin. A high-purity Dendro entity. According to the deductions of some researchers, Elemental Hypostases have the knowledge required to "learn," which is how they use "mimesis" to initiate attacks. However, the ability to incorporate information to create change also opens one to the risk of information contamination. As this creature learns and changes, the purpose of its birth — no matter how academically unquantifiable it may still be — may yet become so distorted as to be rendered irrelevant.Dendro SlimeElemental LifeformsA slime that has undergone ecological changes due to abundant Dendro in its environment. It has also taken on the weaknesses of the Dendro element, and will burn intensely the moment it meets a bright flame.Dendro SpecterElemental LifeformsA monster born from high-density Dendro energy that can float in the air. A researcher from Vahumana once did research into the ecological peculiarities of Dendro Specters, finding them to be quite similar to the legendary "Aranara." His conclusion was that the Aranara were actually Dendro Specters. This researcher would become a little-known writer of fairy tales.Electro HypostasisElemental LifeformsCode name: Aleph. A high-purity Electro entity. Elemental hypostases are the highest forms of elemental structures, usually formed either at a location bursting with elemental energy or at a clogged ley line. Elemental hypostases have developed various attacks based on their elemental attributes.Electro SlimeElemental LifeformsA small monster created by the coalescing of Electro dispersed throughout nature. According to analyses, the jumping of Electro Slimes reflects the electric potential difference in the ground. In areas brimming over with Electro, their unusual movements can be observed and used to avoid danger.Electro SpecterElemental LifeformsA monster born from highly-concentrated Electro elements that can float in the air. A certain researcher once studied these creatures. He believed that they must be Hypostases of some kind. After all, they both had elemental peculiarities and were birthed from areas saturated with elemental energy, right? By the way, he was later investigated for academic corruption.Eye of the StormElemental LifeformsThe corporeal form of extremely high-quality Anemo energies. The formation of an Eye of the Storm indicates that the elemental ley lines of a region are blocked, which has led to siltation. Its reckless, heedless wielding of storms that all but sweeps people off their feet may be due to its nature as a symbol of the world stricken by malaise.Frostnight HerraElemental LifeformsProud beings that roam in the waning glow of the moon, wielding ancient powers long since tamed by the Lord of the Sky. Legends say these graceful, mystical beasts were born in the age when the Frost Moon still turned, and, favored by the divine emissary, they would not be tainted by the light of day. Even now, among the followers of the Frost Moon, they are regarded as sacred beasts lost to this world, retreating along secret lunar paths beyond the reach of mortal eyes. Yet, as they have for countless centuries past, they still wander in the shadows of the moon, treading the boundary between two worlds, guarding the lands coveted by calamity, and watching over those who dwell within them — for this is the very oath they first swore to the apostle of the golden city.Geo HypostasisElemental LifeformsCode name: Gimel. A high-purity Geo entity. Elemental hypostases are ultra-compact structures with a high mass. Concentrated elemental energy forms a solid shell around the core of the hypostasis, leaving only the core reactive to elemental stimuli.Geo SlimeElemental LifeformsSmall monsters created through the buildup of Geo within the earth. Generally speaking, the crust of the earth is filled with Geo energy. Geo Slimes that are formed this way have a similarly "down-to-earth" sort of feeling.Geo SpecterElemental LifeformsA monster birthed from a high concentration of Geo that can float in the air. Geo Specters mimic the fruit of certain plants when their wings are closed together. As such, they are held by some ancient tales to be the fruit of a giant tree in the sky, and are regarded as having mysterious medical value.Gilded Sunshard: Frostnight ScionElemental LifeformsAn elegant elemental life form that possesses immense elemental affinity. The long years have exposed it to high concentrations of Geo, resulting in its present form. Just about its entire body is covered by the accumulated Geo, while its tough antlers gleam with the luster of polished amber. In still-extant prayers of the far north, it was born from the Frost Moon's blessings, symbolizing the pure source and the first radiance. Perhaps this is why it finds the tainting of its pale purity with the seven colors of heavenly light unbearable, thus rejecting all life that draws too close.Gleaming Charge: Frostnight ScionElemental LifeformsAn elegant elemental life form that possesses immense elemental affinity. The long years have exposed it to high concentrations of Electro, resulting in its present form. One of the manifestations with the most violent temperament, it commands steel-shattering bolts of lightning like mere servants, such that any land it passes through shall be marked as if by a marauding, thunderous calamity. In still-extant prayers of the far north, it was born from the Frost Moon's blessings, symbolizing the pure source and the first radiance. Perhaps this is why it finds the tainting of its pale purity with the seven colors of heavenly light unbearable, thus rejecting all life that draws too close.Hydro HypostasisElemental LifeformsCode Name: He. A high-purity Hydro entity. Hypostases have strong rejection properties, and will mercilessly expel any that test them. Its rejection behavior even extends to natural elements.Hydro SlimeElemental LifeformsA small monster created by the sedimentation of Hydro dispersed throughout nature. Legend has it that some people would use Hydro Slimes as an emergency water source, packing them in preparation for travels through dry regions or deep domains. But due to the high concentration of Hydro within these slimes, direct ingestion is, in fact, harmful to the human body.Hydro SpecterElemental LifeformsA monster birthed from a high concentration of Hydro that can float in the air. On moonlit nights, Hydro Specters will give off a ghostly glow as they float by the riverbank. Their furtive forms are often mistaken by passers-by for wandering spirits, which has made them mainstays in quite a few folktales.Hydro TulpaElemental LifeformsA humanoid monster formed from the agglomeration of water.Icy Crystal: Frostnight ScionElemental LifeformsAn elegant elemental life form that possesses immense elemental affinity. The long years have exposed it to high concentrations of Cryo, resulting in its present form. It is said that this entity is closest to the original form of a Frostnight Scion. It will use icy mists and crystals to set up redoubtable walls, but perhaps it does this only to separate the flawless primeval light from the world that lies beneath the moon. In still-extant prayers of the far north, it was born from the Frost Moon's blessings, symbolizing the pure source and the first radiance. Perhaps this is why it finds the tainting of its pale purity with the seven colors of heavenly light unbearable, thus rejecting all life that draws too close.Large Anemo SlimeElemental LifeformsA monster created by the coalescing of Anemo dispersed throughout nature. Owing to being comprised of a greater concentration of Anemo, their flotation abilities are stronger than that of Anemo Slimes. The hilichurls living out in the wilds have made use of this special characteristic, creating special vehicles that use Large Anemo Slimes as a form of locomotion to transport goods from unknown sources.Large Cryo SlimeElemental LifeformsA monster created through the coagulation of Cryo in the natural environment. These slimes can use the abundant Cryo energies within themselves to freeze the moisture in the atmosphere and form a protective shell around themselves. They can also utilize a similar principle to freeze the water around them. On some level, this can be considered to be the freest species of slime, as it can cross oceans and seas with ease.Large Dendro SlimeElemental LifeformsA slime that has undergone ecological changes due to abundant Dendro in its environment. There are some who see it as something similar to the Whopperflowers, hiding its true form to trick and hunt its prey, and some regard it as a slime that has been parasitized by some special plant. From this point of view, might some cultures also see these slimes as having some special medicinal value?Large Electro SlimeElemental LifeformsA monster created by the coalescing of Electro dispersed throughout nature. Due to the abundant Electro within its form, it will deliver an electric shock to its surroundings from time to time. At present, some have attempted to harness this energy to aid in production activities. Perhaps some new science will be born from this...?Large Geo SlimeElemental LifeformsMonsters created through the buildup of Geo within the earth. They can harden the energy within their bodies into a carapace of stone that protects them and prevents damage. The legend of a "Golden Geo Slime King" once circulated among the Treasure Hoarders. They believed that since gemstones and ores have Geo energy in them, Geo Slimes, which also contain Geo energy, may also be a type of gemstone or ore.Large Hydro SlimeElemental LifeformsA monster created by the sedimentation of Hydro dispersed throughout nature. A larger and more powerful Hydro Slime that can create bubbles to entrap its enemies. It is said that they can grow to truly staggering sizes if given an energy-rich environment. Eyewitnesses have supposedly seen Hydro Slimes as large as a small mound in Wolvendom.Large Pyro SlimeElemental LifeformsA monster created by the sedimentation of Pyro dispersed throughout nature. Though its intelligence has not increased with its size, it is very hot. During dry seasons, it can cause wildfires. It will spit forth blazing fireballs when angered, and will turn dark when it is feeling down. A most expressive slime, indeed.Mutant Electro SlimeElemental LifeformsA monster created by the coalescing of Electro dispersed throughout nature. Electro Slimes can undergo mutations to become bright yellow. Due to the abundant Electro within its form, it will deliver an electric shock to its surroundings from time to time, and it can even cause nearby Electro Slimes to release electric arcs. This arc lightning will not bounce between purple Electro Slimes, which shows that Electro Slimes have two different polarities. One wonders if some great new science could emerge from the study of such phenomena...OceanidElemental LifeformsA life-form created from condensed Hydro elements of incredible purity. Often attached to bodies of water. It is said that as water bodies become purer, the Hydro elements within grow more abundant, causing the Oceanids to grow more powerful. It is also said by some that Oceanids were once sea creatures from a home far away who carried the fragments of a long-dead god to the many corners of this world. Perhaps they did this so that the love their god held for this world could be spread through the waters to all the land...Pyro HypostasisElemental LifeformsCode Name: Ayin. A high-purity Pyro entity. According to researchers, Elemental Hypostases are related to anomalies in local Elemental veins. But whether it is the existence of Elemental Hypostases that have affected Elemental veins or the mutated Elemental Energy that created Elemental Hypostases remains to be confirmed.Pyro SlimeElemental LifeformsA small monster created by the sedimentation of Pyro dispersed throughout nature. Its intelligence is very basic, but its uses are just as broad — well, for hilichurls, that is.Pyro SpecterElemental LifeformsA monster born from highly-concentrated Pyro elements that can float in the air. There was once an Akademiya student who conducted research into their behavior. He believed that Specters were a form of Crystalfly; since they both had powers of flight and both were birthed in areas saturated with elemental energy. He has not graduated yet.Surging Currents: Frostnight ScionElemental LifeformsAn elegant elemental life form that possesses immense elemental affinity. The long years have exposed it to high concentrations of Hydro, resulting in its present form. Its clear, glass-like body is composed almost entirely of the purest water droplets. Though gentler than most of its kin, once provoked it can instantly shape the surrounding water into razor-sharp blades capable of piercing any unwary intruder's defenses. In still-extant prayers of the far north, it was born from the Frost Moon's blessings, symbolizing the pure source and the first radiance. Perhaps this is why it finds the tainting of its pale purity with the seven colors of heavenly light unbearable, thus rejecting all life that draws too close.Tainted Water-Splitting PhantasmElemental LifeformsToday, with the Oceanids extirpated from Fontaine, strange elemental life forms have appeared in the waters. The elemental spirits that appeared after the calamity lack the elegance and beauty of the Oceanids, and thus have been called "tainted." Though the toxins dissolved in the water have long since been diluted and cleansed, unless there are still containers of pure water somewhere, Fontaine's waters will never again naturally birth Oceanids.Tainted Water-Spouting PhantasmElemental LifeformsToday, with the Oceanids extirpated from Fontaine, strange elemental life forms have appeared in the waters. It is said that in Egeria's era, the Oceanids often lived alongside humans, and lived in the springs of clear waters dotted across the lands, and through this, they connected the waters of the world. But most died with their god, and for the survivors, the world no longer has any god they recognize.Tangled Vines: Frostnight ScionElemental LifeformsAn elegant elemental life form that possesses immense elemental affinity. The long years have exposed it to high concentrations of Dendro, resulting in its present form. This entity has a marvelous resonance with the plant life of the groves. Some say that one of the Moonchanters once made a contract with the wooded lands with their help, thus becoming a friend and companion to all life on this land. In still-extant prayers of the far north, it was born from the Frost Moon's blessings, symbolizing the pure source and the first radiance. Perhaps this is why it finds the tainting of its pale purity with the seven colors of heavenly light unbearable, thus rejecting all life that draws too close.Thunder ManifestationElemental LifeformsAn abnormal Electro elemental life form. Although it might appear similar to an Oceanid, it does not possess her intelligence or memories. That which drives the Thunder Manifestation is a much more primal fury. It is said that these life forms will only descend like lightning upon places that play host to great lingering resentment, such as the fragmented Amakumo Peak, where the storm clouds ever roil. As long as the grudges of the land do not fade, so will the roaring thunder persist.Veiled Cloudchaser: Frostnight ScionElemental LifeformsAn elegant elemental life form that possesses immense elemental affinity. The long years have exposed it to high concentrations of Anemo, resulting in its present form. The flowing wind has spun an extra pair of wings for it. As it almost never leaves footprints on the ground, it's also known as the one who walks with the wind. In still-extant prayers of the far north, it was born from the Frost Moon's blessings, symbolizing the pure source and the first radiance. Perhaps this is why it finds the tainting of its pale purity with the seven colors of heavenly light unbearable, thus rejecting all life that draws too close.Anemo Hilichurl RogueHilichurlsHilichurl wanderers who do not belong to any hilichurl tribe. It almost seems as if they are searching for the fated genesis of their kind, seeking to uncover some bygone splendor that once belonged to their people. If these monsters capable of only crude language and bereft of missing history could record their own epics and legends, the hilichurl wanderers would be the heroes in said tales.Anemo SamachurlHilichurlsA wizened, mumbling hilichurl, one that spreads the message of Anemo. Hilichurls especially gifted in commanding the elements who often reach the zenith of their skill in their twilight years. Their ability to command the flowing winds stems from dark, forgotten memories.Blazing Axe MitachurlHilichurlsMuscular hilichurls who wield large two-handed axes. Attacks with large strikes, and will use Pyro Slimes to infuse their axes with Pyro. They are very lethal. Usually, repeatedly quenching a weapon the way a Blazing Axe Mitachurl does will decrease the hardness of the metal and cause the axe-head's edge to chip more easily. But such is the strength of the mitachurls that even should the edge disappear altogether, they can still use their axes as hammers.Crackling Axe MitachurlHilichurlsMuscular hilichurls who wield large, two-handed axes. Attacks with large strikes and uses Electro Slimes to infuse their axes with Electro. Their blows are very lethal. Axes forged from steel are highly conductive material. The image of those tall and strong Crackling Axe Mitachurls holding their axes up to summon lightning is quite majestic to the hilichurls.Cryo Hilichurl GrenadierHilichurlsThe primitive wandering inhabitants of Teyvat's wildernesses. Hilichurls have discovered the use of Cryo Slimes in effectively keeping food fresh. Hilichurls have surprising amounts of wisdom in the practical use of Slimes, whether it be the use of Pyro and Cryo Slimes to make Exploding Barrels, or the use of Anemo Slimes in vehicles... Perhaps this is their way of adapting to their hard lot in life.Cryo Hilichurl ShooterHilichurlsThe primitive wandering inhabitants of Teyvat's wildernesses. These archers wield simple crossbows, and unmelting ice shrouds their arrowheads. It is said that wounds caused by these arrowheads heal very slowly, as the cold will slow the circulation of blood.Cryo SamachurlHilichurlsA wizened, mumbling hilichurl, one that calls upon the bite of Cryo. Hilichurls especially gifted in commanding the elements who often reach the zenith of their skill in their twilight years. These shamans remember the frosty chants and are even more skilled in the art of using them to entrap their foes.Dendro SamachurlHilichurlsA wizened, mumbling hilichurl, one that awakens the might of Dendro. Hilichurls especially gifted in commanding the elements who often reach the zenith of their skill in their twilight years. A grudge stirs beneath that mask, and poison ivy sprouts as hateful whispers issue forth from it.Electro Hilichurl GrenadierHilichurlsThe primitive wandering inhabitants of Teyvat's wildernesses. Electro Slimes don't seem to have as many applications as Pyro Slimes or Anemo Slimes in the benighted lives of the Hilichurls. Perhaps one day they may discover the flow of Elements between Electro Slime and Mutant Electro Slime and make some great progress... ?Electro Hilichurl ShooterHilichurlsThe primitive wandering inhabitants of Teyvat's wildernesses. These archers wield simple crossbows, and their arrowheads are crafted from carved Electro Crystals that will deliver an electric shock upon impact. They say that Hilichurl Shooters of exceptional skill can fire five crossbow bolts at once — a most impressive feat indeed.Electro SamachurlHilichurlsA wizened, mumbling Hilichurl, one that prays to Electro. Hilichurls especially gifted in commanding elements who often reach the zenith of their skill in their twilight years. Since they possess such advanced skill in creating electricity and summoning thunder, you may as well use the crackling sound to compose an elegy.Frostarm LawachurlHilichurlsA mysterious "lord" of hilichurls that stalks the snow and fog. This huge hilichurl is referred to as a "lawa" by its brethren. Its body, honed to the very limit, almost seems to blend into its Cryo-filled environment, and its stoic nobility is like that of the frozen northland rivers.Geo SamachurlHilichurlsA wizened, mumbling hilichurl, one that listens to the strength of Geo. Hilichurls especially gifted in commanding the elements who often reach the zenith of their skill in their twilight years. To the persevering mountains, these old hilichurls are but children, but their memories and experiences have guided them towards gaining power over rock and stone.HilichurlHilichurlsThe primitive wandering inhabitants of Teyvat's wildernesses. They look very similar to humanity but seem to have lost both their intellect and spirituality. Their presence on the continent has been recorded for over a thousand years, and yet they have neither history nor civilization. Since the pitch-black calamity from five hundred years ago, they have begun to spread in large numbers across the land. They are not very strong, and they lack organization, but they nonetheless bring sizable trouble to humans every once in a while.Hilichurl BerserkerHilichurlsThe primitive wandering inhabitants of Teyvat's wildernesses. These hilichurls wield flaming clubs and charge with reckless abandon to chase intruding adventurers off. Most wildfires in the grasslands or forests are not actually caused by a certain special Knight, but due to the actions of these hilichurls.Hilichurl FighterHilichurlsThe primitive wandering inhabitants of Teyvat's wildernesses. Ill-tempered warriors for their tribes, they are simple-minded believers in the power of brute force. If their muscles grow strong enough and their strength great enough, then one day they too shall raise up a great shield and become a mitachurl... Or will they?Hilichurl GrenadierHilichurlsThe primitive wandering inhabitants of Teyvat's wildernesses. These sneaky fellows are skilled in the use of Pyro Slimes, using them as weapons to attack intruders. Skilled grenadiers may be able to destroy four wooden dummies in a single throw.Hilichurl ShooterHilichurlsThe primitive wandering inhabitants of Teyvat's wildernesses. Hilichurl Shooters who wield simple crossbows. Hilichurls do not, in truth, possess the craftsmanship needed to build crossbows. As such, it is commonly believed that there is an organization that controls the hilichurls from behind the scenes and furnishes them with equipment and material supplies. The Abyss Mages that often accompany these hilichurls are especially suspicious.Hydro Hilichurl RogueHilichurlsHilichurl wanderers unaffiliated with any specific tribe. They can often be found roving the wilds as if in voluntary exile. They may also lend their aid to other hilichurls or hilichurl tribes for various reasons and go their separate ways afterward. They seem to possess a higher level of intelligence than commonplace hilichurls.Hydro SamachurlHilichurlsA wizened, mumbling hilichurl, one that chants of the power of Hydro. Hilichurls especially gifted in commanding the elements who often reach the zenith of their skill in their twilight years. What sort of life would lead to such simple creatures being able to summon water and rains?Ice Shield Hilichurl GuardHilichurlsThe primitive wandering inhabitants of Teyvat's wildernesses. Hilichurls display a strong sense of adaptability to their surroundings. In icy environments, they come up with ways and means to fashion this hard ice into shields to protect themselves.Ice Shieldwall MitachurlHilichurlsA muscular hilichurl that uses solid ice as a shield, wielding it in battle. Reason normally dictates that large creatures that see a lot of action should burn through a great number of calories to sustain themselves. As such, the present-day El Musk has proposed the "Mitachurl Index." This index correlates the percentage of mitachurls within the hilichurl population to the stability and success of hilichurl foraging activity.Pyro Hilichurl ShooterHilichurlsThe primitive wandering inhabitants of Teyvat's wildernesses. These archers wield simple crossbows, and their arrowheads are coated with a thin layer of flammable material that can set their targets on fire. El Musk of the previous generation believed that this is an innovation by brighter hilichurls who wished to cook their game after hunting it.Rock Shield Hilichurl GuardHilichurlsThe primitive wandering inhabitants of Teyvat's wildernesses. Hardy hilichurls who have congregated in a region where Geo energies are abundant. Their impregnable shields have layers of rocky growths on them.Rock Shieldwall MitachurlHilichurlsA muscular hilichurl that uses a rock as a shield. Fighting and eating meat are the two most important things to hilichurls, because those are what make them grow stronger. All young hilichurls dream of growing up to become a big and strong mitachurl, because that way they can eat more meat, fight more battles, and wield those (almost) impregnable giant rock shields.Stonehide LawachurlHilichurlsA mysterious "lord" of hilichurls that walks between a thousand peaks. This huge hilichurl is referred to as a "lawa" by its brethren. The abundant Geo energies in the environment have become part of their flesh, blood, and skin, which look as if they were chiseled out of mountain rock.Thunderhelm LawachurlHilichurlsA mysterious "lord" of hilichurls that strides through the thunderstorm. This huge hilichurl is referred to as "Lawa" by its brethren. Its giant body is so saturated with Electro energy that Elemental Energy seeps through the cracks in its body in the form of Electro Crystal growths.Unusual HilichurlHilichurls"Homu, homu, mimi domu!"Wooden Shield Hilichurl GuardHilichurlsThe primitive wandering inhabitants of Teyvat's wildernesses. Hilichurl warriors who have wooden shields. These shields are not only sturdy defensive tools but also treasured items within the tribe. According to many reports, hilichurls will often charge at travelers making camp to cook and will snatch their pot lids after chasing them away.Wooden Shieldwall MitachurlHilichurlsA muscular hilichurl who has been forged in countless fights. They know how to use Dendro Slimes to create tough shields which they wield in combat. With their powerful muscles, glossy fur, and sturdy, reliable silhouettes, they help the hilichurls withstand the pitiless assaults of adventurers, and they hold a rather exalted rank amongst the tribes.Abyss Herald: Frost FallThe AbyssA monster from the Abyss Order that wields frigid, icy blades in battle. Just as there are saints who will spread and glorify the profound gospel, there are envoys who must correct any twisted strains and remove any dissonance. People often say that steel feels like ice as it pierces the body, but this dark frost is said to freeze even the soul.Abyss Herald: Wicked TorrentsThe AbyssServants of the Abyss Order that use Hydro in combat. These silent figures are the vanguard of the Abyss, brandishing Tidal Blades that can engulf everything in an instant, crumpling armor and obliterating heretics. They shall bring preordained damnation upon the foolish masses.Abyss Lector: Fathomless FlamesThe AbyssWielders of abyssal fire who pursue the meaning behind texts and scriptures. Is a member of the Abyss Order. The surface people have a slightly distorted understanding of what their name means, calling them "Lectors," when their name can also mean "exegete." Reading the word of grace grants them great power.Abyss Lector: Violet LightningThe AbyssA monster who serves the Abyss Order and commands lightning while singing the praises of the darkness. These are the evangelists and the scholars of the Abyss. Their violent lightning strikes the hearts of unbelievers with dark wisdom, warped by the shadowy depths of an eternal night, its violet glow proclaiming the existence of a great power that corrodes human intellect.Black Serpent Knight: Rockbreaker AxThe AbyssA guard of some standing in the court, sundering the foes of the nation's rulers using a sword art known as "Truthseeker." Though Truthseeker is, strictly speaking, a sword art, its teachings can also be used with various other weapons — and in the realm's darkest hour, those who had to protect their homeland had little room to be fussy anyway.Black Serpent Knight: WindcutterThe AbyssA guard of some standing in the court, sundering the foes of the nation's rulers using a sword art known as "Truthseeker." The Twilight Sword was once one of their number. That realm's glory has been extinguished, never again to be reclaimed.Cryo Abyss MageThe AbyssAbyss creatures that call upon Cryo in battle. Though they dabble with great power and can even create icicles by condensing and freezing water vapor in the atmosphere, their bodies are very vulnerable in and of themselves. Once their protective Ward has been broken, they are at your mercy.Electro Abyss MageThe AbyssAbyss creatures that utilize Electro in battles. While studying at the Akademiya, researcher Alva Nikola once conducted a systematic study of the methods by which Electro Abyss Mages manipulate Electro and came up with a theoretical weapon known as the Nikola Coil. However, it has yet to be put into practice. Some say that his research materials were eaten during a fungal infestation.Fisher of Hidden DepthsThe AbyssAn Abyssal creature that slips through rifts in the hidden depths, crossing over from beyond this world. Long ago, an ancient philosopher described humans as "featherless bipeds," using that simple phrase to distinguish mankind from animals and assert human superiority. In some sense, these deathless wanderers of the silent cosmic void, scaled instead of feathered, and using their hooked beaks to draw in biomass from world to world, might actually also match that same simplistic definition of "human."Golden WolflordThe AbyssHailing from a dark world, this ruler of the black wolves has the power to call upon its followers, its hidden claws, to dissolve space itself and forge a rift through which it may enter. The Wolflord has no name, for it was but one of "Gold"'s unintentional creations, and that is precisely why it is obsessed with invading worlds that do not belong to it and making a name for itself. That said, the wolf pack is far from unintelligent. After suffering a defeat in its previous invasion, a deserted island where no humans or protectors dwell has been selected for them to prepare for their lord's descent.Hydro Abyss MageThe AbyssAbyss creatures that utilize Hydro energy in battle. Stories circulate among adventurers that Abyss Mages are at the lowest rung of the Abyss Order's hierarchy and that they roam the various lands to scheme fell deeds of destruction. Though they also often make fun of these Abyss Mages, saying that the most harm they can do is to cause rheumatism or a common cold, their power is not to be underestimated.Iniquitous BaptistThe AbyssA monster from the Abyss that wields multiple types of Elemental Power and has gained extra limbs from its "evolution." "The nature of the 'Abyss' is essentially irreconcilable with the elements. However, even the elements of gods can be entrapped and distorted before they are subsumed to become tools of the abyssal will. Just judging from outcomes and practical use, "Abyssal powers" seem little different from elemental items, from ones as paltry as the Treasure Hoarders' elemental containers to those as powerful as Visions..." —Notes left behind in Hangeh Afrasiyab by someone.Large Overgrown Breacher PrimusThe AbyssA strange life form that mostly appears in Elynas. The nature of a Breacher Primus defies known categories: they are not animals, plants, Shroom-Kin, nor Elementals. The debate among scholars of Sumeru never formally reached a consensus on just what it is, until it was finally banned as a research topic. The reason is that based on the current system of knowledge, this problem is like "the definitions prescribed by language and the true nature of things," and it is impossible to have a meaningful, final answer.Large Shatterstone Breacher PrimusThe AbyssA strange life form that mostly appears in Elynas. Melusines perceive Breacher Primuses as harmless creatures, and many even find them completely adorable. The visual perception of Melusines is very different from humans.Lord of the Hidden Depths: Whisperer of NightmaresThe AbyssAn Abyssal creature that creeps through rifts in the hidden depths, quietly watching this world. Its eerie, faceless form is said to be nothing more than a projection, for its true body exists only as a formless mass of pure Abyssal energy. Even invaders who seek to claim this world must obey its rules to some extent. Unless the heavens split open and the earth's defenses collapse, these star-born outsiders can do little more than linger at the world's fringes, whispering their madness into this realm, their attempts to seep inside amounting to nothing... But how long can this stability and order truly last?Overgrown Breacher PrimusThe AbyssA strange life form that mostly appears in Elynas. In Fontaine, the earliest recorded observations of a Breacher Primus appeared shortly after the cataclysm. Records from the time show instances of Breacher Primuses both attacking and protecting humans.Pyro Abyss MageThe AbyssAbyss creatures who command the power of Pyro in battle. For unknown reasons, Abyss Mages are able to communicate with the hilichurls, thus enabling them to manipulate their minds easily. They say that Abyss Mages utter a long-forgotten language from which they draw magical power.Rockfond RifthoundThe AbyssA beast with monstrous blood that is capable of eroding the boundaries of the world. They were created by "Gold." They do display certain biological behaviors similar to those of real wolves. Perhaps they feel jealousy towards these their "next of kin," and dream of replacing them someday.Rockfond Rifthound WhelpThe AbyssA beast with monstrous blood that is capable of eroding the boundaries of the world. "Gold" classified them as "Alfisol." They follow the encroaching abyss to devour the elements. Fortunately, there are few of them left now in this world.Shadowy Husk: DefenderThe AbyssA pitch-dark soldier. Once a proud warrior of an ancient underground nation, it is now nothing but a husk that only bears memories of battle. All shall decay in the end, and this is all that is left of the Black Serpent Knights amidst the merciless march of their sins, curses, and time itself.Shadowy Husk: Line BreakerThe AbyssA pitch-dark soldier. Once a proud warrior of an ancient underground nation, it no longer has any "intelligence" that it may still be called "human." Yet the desire to destroy the foe and plunge into battle to defend others is etched into this empty suit of armor, even if no one remains to tell it where the enemy is or who or what exactly must be defended.Shadowy Husk: Standard BearerThe AbyssA pitch-dark soldier. Once a proud warrior of an ancient underground nation, it has now lost any awareness of memory. But even so, it holds the banner of the royal house aloft into battle. Though it has forgotten its comrades or any royal blessing they might have been given, it will never lay this banner down.Shatterstone Breacher PrimusThe AbyssA strange life form that mostly appears in Elynas. Receives a powerful shock from encountering ousia or pneuma energy, and thus Breacher Primuses can be driven away using this relatively nonaggressive and noninvasive means.Tenebrous MimifloraThe AbyssAbyssal monsters that have descended to this world from the deep, dark depths of a twisted and alien world, they possess a plant-like appearance. It is said that where the corrosive waves of the dark tide lap, such plant-like dark monsters will grow. But they only bear a superficial resemblance to plants, for it is a form they only adopted to get closer to the tree-like world, that they might extract the necessary concepts from it, and analyze and imitate them. Some raving lunatics who have lost their minds say that those things that extend out like leaves are actually the beginnings of gates to other worlds.Tenebrous Papilla: Type IThe AbyssAbyssal creatures with plant-like forms that have descended from a deep, dark, unfathomable, contorted otherworld. These twisted monstrosities are capable of infiltrating deep down into the bowels of the earth, extracting memories to imitate and manipulate. Through this process of distorting the past's memories into more abstruse and sordid forms, they gradually draw closer to Irminsul's core, threatening to undermine its very existence. Some say that these aberrations work constantly to corrupt the many colors of light, leaving only pitch-black information in their stead. Such a hypothesis seems to be confirmed by the branches they extend outward, as if to pierce the void itself...Thundercraven RifthoundThe AbyssA beast with monstrous blood that is capable of eroding the boundaries of the world. They were created by "Gold." Once upon a time, they ran riot across the continent, but they went extinct for a time due to resistance and mass hunts. Recently, however, they have re-emerged. The pack of black wolves that now threaten Springvale and Wolvendom are such creatures.Thundercraven Rifthound WhelpThe AbyssA beast with monstrous blood that is capable of eroding the boundaries of the world. "Gold" classified them as "Alfisol." In times long gone, when giant monstrous beasts descended, large swarms of these hounds would go before them to deliquesce the borders of the world and open the way.Wilderness ExileThe AbyssA ghoul that stalks the frozen wilderness when the pitch-dark mist rolls in. Their emergence presages worse calamities to come. All who dwell beneath the moon set out on journeys with their own goals and wishes in mind, but not all such wishes receive favor. Spirits that cannot rest due to engendered resentment, partings with loved ones, or desires that go unfulfilled, if corrupted by the Abyss, may transform into ghouls, forever lost in the thick mists of the Wild Hunt.Wilderness HunterThe AbyssA ghoul that stalks the frozen wilderness when the pitch-dark mist rolls in. Their emergence presages worse calamities to come. Many great champions of a lost ancient kingdom lie buried beneath the frozen northlands. Though the remnants of the past have been long wiped clean, these noble spirits yet defend their golden homeland. Awakened by Abyssal taint, these warriors now see all who trespass as prey.Close Combat Scout LandcruiserFatuiAn autonomous machine that applies the principles of naval combat to land battles, a literal "armed ship that cruises on land." These walking Landcruisers with bipedal structures are often used as "scouts," for they are able to quickly traverse rough terrain and reach key positions to seize the initiative for their allies. Their close-combat-oriented rotating blades allow them to deal fatal damage to their foes and shred shrubbery and obstacles to open the way, allowing units to operate with ease even amidst thick vegetation.Close Combat Storm LandcruiserFatuiAn autonomous machine that applies the principles of naval combat to land battles, a literal "armed ship that cruises on land." Equipped with Crawler Track Movement Mechanisms, these Landcruisers are normally used to storm enemy positions, where they can pass over rough terrain such as mud and melting snow despite heavy armor and armaments through their excellent load-bearing capabilities and off-road mobility. When close-combat Landcruisers approach enemy defensive lines in formation, rotating blades raised for battle, most foes will concentrate fire on them, allowing other units the opportunity to unleash their firepower...Cutting Edge All-Purpose Scout LandcruiserFatuiBalancing cutting-edge tech, production costs, and sortie rates, these elite Landcruisers confer immense penetrative power upon any order of battle, and are the key fulcrum of the frontline. The all-purpose scout combat package is designed for both long- and short-range combat, and not only leads scout Landcruiser squads, but also provides close support for All-Purpose Storm Landcruisers during high-intensity battles, such as crossing specialized anti-Landcruiser trenches, or destroying enemy strongpoints. This Landcruiser type can also keep up with the tip of the spear as it breaks through in depth, before swinging out to the wings and swiftly attacking key targets in the enemy's rear lines.Cutting Edge All-Purpose Storm LandcruiserFatuiBalancing cutting-edge tech, production costs, and sortie rates, these elite Landcruisers confer immense penetrative power upon any order of battle, and are the key fulcrum of the frontline. The all-purpose storm combat package combines multi-barrel automatic guns with close-quarter rotating blades, allowing this Landcruiser to battle opponents at any range, while heavy howitzers on both arms allow it to obliterate cover and deny defenders the benefit of their fortifications. According to combat doctrine co-authored by the Fatui and the Royal Military Academy, these Landcruisers must be supported by all nearby units when they attack, speedily punching a hole in enemy lines, which will allow for follow-up attacks in depth that will then cause the enemy defenses to collapse completely.Cutting Edge Fire Support Ground Effect LandcruiserFatuiBalancing cutting-edge tech, production costs, and sortie rates, these elite Landcruisers confer immense penetrative power upon any order of battle, and are the key fulcrum of the frontline. After being equipped with high-efficiency jet engines, this Ground Effect Landcruiser has gained the ability to carry multiple armaments, allowing it to deliver this sizable firepower anywhere on the battlefield in a timely fashion. As such, the combat doctrine co-authored by the Fatui and the Royal Military Academy states that they are to be organized as a "Quick Reaction Force" in large-scale battles, meant to guard against enemy breakthroughs or counterattacks, and to press the advantage if the battle is going favorably. Of course, all such Landcruisers have the ability to operate independently, and on long tours of duty, they can form the core of a small squad and thus maximize the firepower of various Fatui unit types...Fatui Cryo Cicin MageFatuiA Fatui mage who can command Cryo Cicins in battle. Their origins and what they look like under that mask are both mysteries. Reason dictates that those who lack Visions should not be able to control the elements as these mages do. However, in addition to using Mist Grass to control the Cryo Cicins, they also boldly wield the might of frost. Seeing them as they wander the land in their seemingly aimless way, one can't help but wonder about the duty that must compel them...Fatui Electro Cicin MageFatuiA Fatui mage who can command Electro Cicins in battle. Their origins and what they look like under that mask are both mysteries. Similarly to the way that Electro Cicins go crazy for Mist Grass, Cicin Mages take great pleasure in toying with their prey.Fatui Pyro AgentFatuiA Fatui secret agent. The duty of a Fatui agent is to settle debts — but not only those of a monetary or goods-in-kind nature. They also ensure dues are paid when it comes to the principle of "an eye for an eye." If there is one thing the Fatui are not known for, it is leniency, and whoever dares to oppose them will invoke the full force of their wrath.Fatui Skirmisher - Anemoboxer VanguardFatuiA skirmisher armed with the ability to manipulate Anemo and heal their comrades. They departed from their motherland and did so for its sake. They left their family, yet gained allies to stick through thick and thin with. —Perhaps such thoughts are what get them through the unscrupulous work that their missions entail.Fatui Skirmisher - Cryogunner LegionnaireFatuiA soldier encased within a Fatui war machine. Armed with equipment that can control the elements to a certain extent, their guns are capable of firing jets of frost. Though this may confer elemental power beyond the ken of ordinary humans, that power may yet come at a price...Fatui Skirmisher - Electrohammer VanguardFatuiA sturdily-built skirmisher armed with an Electro-powered war-hammer. As a Fatui soldier, one has access to munificent resources: salaries, armaments, and supplies. But at the same time, it also means much time away from home and family and putting one's life in the hands of comrades one has never met.Fatui Skirmisher - Geochanter BracerFatuiA skirmisher with the ability to generate a Geo Ward and defend their allies. Unlike the elite Mages and Agents, Fatui Skirmishers are soldiers of lesser individual might. To complete their tasks and reduce losses in men and material, their tactics are thus more reliant on teamwork.Fatui Skirmisher - Hydrogunner LegionnaireFatuiA soldier encased within a Fatui war machine. Armed with equipment that can control the elements to a certain extent, their guns are capable of firing jets of water. These skirmishers do not question if they shall live or die as they advance into nations far from home to complete reconnaissance missions and lay the groundwork for operations to come.Fatui Skirmisher - Pyroslinger BracerFatuiA Fatui soldier who wields a flaming gun. Skirmisher weapons can control the elements to a certain extent, and their combat tactics utilize elemental reactions. Their ordnance and knowledge of squad-based combat thus constitute no small threat in battle.Force Recon Ground Effect LandcruiserFatuiAn autonomous machine that applies the principles of naval combat to land battles, a literal "armed ship that cruises on land." The ground effect Landcruiser is able to "fly" a certain distance above ground by maintaining lift and generating pressure differentials through firing high-speed jet sprays at the surface, allowing it to more economically achieve combat cruising speed, avoid mines and traps, and perform highly effective assaults. However, costs and limits on operation time mean that mass-produced models carry limited payloads. As such, they are currently limited to Force Recon roles...Force Recon Scout LandcruiserFatuiAn autonomous machine that applies the principles of naval combat to land battles, a literal "armed ship that cruises on land." These walking Landcruisers with bipedal structures are often used as "scouts," for they are able to quickly traverse rough terrain and reach key positions to seize the initiative for their allies. Equipped with Force Recon armaments, this Landcruiser can not only serve as a forward scout for the main force, but can also exploit openings and actively attack the enemy where their lines are weakest, thus playing a similar role to that of traditional cavalry...Force Recon Storm LandcruiserFatuiAn autonomous machine that applies the principles of naval combat to land battles, a literal "armed ship that cruises on land." Equipped with Crawler Track Movement Mechanisms, these Landcruisers are normally used to storm enemy positions, where they can pass over rough terrain such as mud and melting snow despite heavy armor and armaments through their excellent load-bearing capabilities and off-road mobility. Force Recon armaments include a multi-barrel automatic gun, allowing this Landcruiser to adjust its tactics to both close quarters and long-range combat. Whether it be long-range observation or obtaining enemy intel in the midst of fearsome firefights, this Landcruiser model is more than up to the task.Frost OperativeFatuiAn elite agent among the Fatui. Selected while still children, they can only become an "Operative" after many long years of training and teaching, after countless rounds have winnowed the field. They are the most outstanding soldiers among the Fatui, with extraordinary skill and unswerving loyalty.Mirror MaidenFatuiA Fatui mage who can command a Hydro Mirror in battle. Her posture is highly dignified, as if she is one who worships a god. The Hydro Mirror she manipulates lures those enchanted by her to willingly fall for her illusion. Nothing seems to escape her ears. No one knows what those covered eyes have seen, nor what kind of obsession might be reflected in them...Oprichniki BombardierFatuiA soldier of the Fatui Oprichniki, equipped with a specialized hover pack and explosive charges, and tasked with performing breaching operations. As troops with immense breakthrough potential, bombardiers are often sent to the most dire of battlefields, making them the troops who gain meritorious promotions most quickly. It is said that Oprichniki officers overwhelmingly come from the ranks of the bombardiers.Oprichniki Fireblade Shock TrooperFatuiAn elite officer of the Fatui Oprichniki who specializes in close combat using a giant blade. Whether it be in the war against the dark calamity or against those ignoramuses who dare stand against the Tsaritsa's ideals, those who breach at the tip of the spear suffer the greatest casualties. As such, those who survive multiple battles are naturally the elite of the elite. There will always be those willing to become the fire and sword of the empire, just as there will always be those who chafe against the injustice of fate and the inequity of the Old World.Oprichniki GrenadierFatuiA soldier of the Fatui Oprichniki, equipped with a man-portable grenade launcher that can perform close-range bombardment. Though the Oprichniki has large-scale, fully-functional fire support attachments, the commanding staff still advocates for large numbers of grenadiers to be maintained. After all, no big gun can compare in surety at the very front lines of combat to a grenade launcher you can direct at will.Oprichniki Hailstorm CannoneerFatuiAn elite officer of the Fatui Oprichniki who uses a heavy cannon to tear enemy formations apart while using a mighty shield to defend their comrades. Bitter battles have dyed the shield frost white, while coatings of blood have tinted its edges black. Oprichniki officers know that empty words will never bring back those who have fallen in sacrifice — only a bombardment akin to a hailstorm can shake this defiled Old World.Oprichniki Line TrooperFatuiA soldier of the Fatui Oprichniki, equipped with a gunblade and tasked to hold the line as the resilient backbone of the Oprichniki forces. According to Snezhnayan infantry manuals, the primary duties of line troops are merely to aim, shoot, and charge. Even should the individual soldier's combat power not prove exceptional, soldiers of the line in tight formation remain a key foundation of the Snezhnayan military machine.Oprichniki MedicFatuiA soldier of the Fatui Oprichniki, equipped with a staff-like device and tasked with providing emergency medical support to their comrades in arms. In truth, these medics have largely only taken crash-course training, and as such, their healing abilities are limited. In practice, they tend to adopt more efficient methods of supporting their allies — mixing in with the different units and charging at the enemy lines.Oprichniki Support TrooperFatuiA soldier of the Fatui Oprichniki, equipped with a heavy shield and tasked to fight at the very front to protect their comrades. Many understand that in the long war between Snezhnaya and the dark calamity, only the side that holds out with greater resolution can outlast the other and emerge victorious. The ultimate resolution of the Oprichniki is, undoubtedly, the shield that protects their forces — so long as this shield does not fall, there is always hope for victory.Oprichniki Thunderblitz GvardiyaFatuiAn elite officer of the Fatui Oprichniki who specializes in using twin guns in combat. Unlike their Skirmisher cousins, Oprichniki officers almost all hail from the Snezhnayan Royal Military Academy, whether due to the privilege of noble birth or the rare talent to escape a common background. After all, neither is truly different from the other within the Tsaritsa's beneficent, loving ideals. Traditionally, only fae could become elite Gvardiya, but today, this glorious role and title has been given to Oprichniki officers — a more equal division for the construction of a new world.Oprichniki VanguardFatuiA soldier of the Fatui Oprichniki, equipped with engineering tools and highly adept in close-range combat. To meet the demands of battlefield operations, the Fatui Oprichniki established vanguard units, tasked with clearing the path of obstacles for advancing forces. As for exactly what counts as an obstacle, that hardly matters. Be it an impassable ravine or a formidable foe standing in their way, they will remove it without hesitation — whatever it takes to ensure the banner of the Pale Star marches on.Super-Heavy Landrover: Mechanized FortressFatuiReferred to internally as the "Type Drzislav," this super heavy-class mechanism was jointly developed by the Armory Palace and the Kuuvahki Experimental Design Bureau. This giant all-terrain vehicle was originally designed for civilian use, particularly heavy transport, as evidenced by its equipped drills and cutters. However, later production models were militarized with heavy weapons mounted on them. After all, in this mortal world beneath the moon, even the most perfect and divine designs may stray from their original intent, let alone machines born of mortal hands, crafted from humble intentions and flawed from the very beginning.Wind OperativeFatuiAn elite agent among the Fatui. "Operatives" have no ordinary military rank among the Fatui. Based on their orders and the content of their missions, they can work in concert with other soldiers, work alone, or in tandem with the "tacks" hidden and scattered across the world. They spy, conduct counter-espionage, protect, assassinate, and conduct other tasks. In order to effectively carry out missions of a more special nature, "Operatives" also need to master all kinds of other skills and even various arts and talents.Aeonblight DrakeAutomatonsThis dragon-shaped combat machine is a being that inspires fear, much like the lord who once ruled these vast lands. It is said that the now-destroyed realm once sought forbidden knowledge and attempted to create perpetual-motion machines that could match or even surpass primordial lifeforms. This mysterious, tireless mechanical monstrosity seems to be proof that they did indeed reach heights that mortals should never have attained.Algorithm of Semi-Intransient Matrix of Overseer NetworkAutomatonsA perpetual motion machine that rules over the many constructs scattered throughout the desert. It seems that the lonely ruler's will still indwells this device. Perhaps due to a friend's teachings in a dream or perhaps because he coveted the power of the holy ones in the skies, the king created mysterious devices that should not exist in this world before founding his realm in these lands. Amidst the ruins of the City of the Pillars, the ancient crystals still reflect the glory of the golden paradise, though none now live who remember the king's dreams.Annihilation Specialist MekAutomatonsAlthough the Fontaine Research Institute of Kinetic Energy Engineering is the main organization involved in clockwork meka research and design, there are also many independent engineers and workshops that are not affiliated with the Research Institute. The first ever machine of this type was designed by an independent engineer to commemorate their lover and sponsor. In the end, it was acquired by the Maison Gardiennage as a tool to uphold municipal security — or, as some would have it, state apparatus enforcing the monopoly on violence.Area Alert MekAutomatonsA mechanism that is able to fire out the energy produced by an annihilation reaction. Strictly speaking, it was originally a test device that emerged from research undertaken by the Institute of Natural Philosophy before the Fontaine Research Institute had been established. As such, despite its considerable commercial success as a sentinel and defensive device, most engineers do not consider it to be a true clockwork meka.Arithmetic Enhancer MekAutomatonsA clockwork meka designed to transmit and enhance signals. The power that drives this clockwork meka is generated from a controlled annihilation reaction between ousia and pneuma in the kinetic core. As a result, overloading it with excessive energy will cause its original equilibrium to be disrupted.Assault Specialist MekAutomatonsAlongside the Recon Log Mek, this was one of the first new-type clockwork meka to be made (though of course, after hundreds of years, no one refers to them as "new-type" anymore — this was simply to differentiate them from traditional clockwork mechanisms that were powered by potential energy.) It was named to commemorate a friend of its inventor, and was originally designed to help people. However, its ability to attack people — thereby avoiding the need to put friendly personnel at risk — subsequently came to be seen as its real strength.Construction Specialist MekAutomatonsA type of large clockwork meka which also has immeasurable value when utilized in building construction and archeological excavation. Its name comes from an engineer employed by Callas during the construction of the Clementine Line. With Callas' financial backing, this engineer built the legendary "Golden Vessel" — a gigantic piece of construction machinery which was used to dig the Poisson Tunnel. Once the job was complete, this type of clockwork meka was designed with a similar structure but reduced to a smaller scale.Deepwater Assault MekAutomatonsA clockwork meka designed to conducting underwater attacks. Unlike "Underwater Patrol Mek" models, it is expected to take on much larger and fiercer opponents. Of course, the price it pays for such capabilities and its cost of manufacture is that is unable to fully unleash its capabilities against smaller opponents. Long ago, Fontaine was once scarred by the tragic invasion of a massive monster. The revered White Armada that sailed upon the great terrestrial lake was completely destroyed in defense of the nation. The designer hoped that were such a thing to happen again, the clockwork meka would possess enough naval firepower to be the first line of defense, going before the soldiers and generals.Domain KeeperAutomatonsA shadow construct born from the overflow of the mighty primordial being, it is a guardian who watches over the Pillar Hall of the heavens. Though entrusted with "eyes" as a guardian of the Pillar Hall of Space, these entities can do nothing but extol the "Ideal Forms" of the noumenal world. With no way to behold the complexities of the phenomenal world, they are thus not counted among the kindred of angels. Whether this inherent contradiction is a product of their creator's rational design, or if the master they serve ultimately failed to grasp the intent of that primordial being, is a truth that remains beyond our reach.Experimental Field GeneratorAutomatonsA large device designed by the late Edwin Eastinghouse. It has the ability to "counteract" the effects of gravity. According to the original design intentions, this was the first step in a plan to turn Fontaine into a city in the sky, so never again would the people have to worry about the waves that once swept over the land. Even if all seven nations were to be swallowed by the deeps, the elegant Court of Fontaine would float above it all, just like Celestia. Even the secrets of the universe would no longer seem so distant. The Arkhium in the device's core has the characteristics of "splitting" or "precipitation," and can take matter, or certain things outside of matter, and separate them. It is said that this process can be reversed, but the Fontaine Research Institute is infatuated only with the physical effects it can produce.Geological Survey MekAutomatonsA clockwork meka designed for surveying underground resources and certain minerals. Due to the fact that the desired metal type can be set, this device has proven very popular among Treasure Hoarders and Adventurers alike.Icewind SuiteAutomatonsArtificed Dancers developed by the Fontaine Research Institute. Bossuet originally intended for Artificed Dancers to be works of art that transcended the era of mechanical reproduction. But after Bossuet was forced to resign, the project was taken over by Maillardet, who had his own unique understanding of what he wanted to achieve. As a result, while their features were perfected during the course of its development, the Artificed Dancers gradually strayed from Bossuet's original vision.Knuckle DuckleAutomatonsA kuuvahki mechanism of peculiar make, made from scrap metal and mechanical bearings, that bears a partial resemblance — as per its creator's proclivities, apparently — to a "duck." Its output and resistance to damage are comparable to the Fatui's most cutting-edge warfighting weaponry... But even so, it remains simply a toy duck that can punch its opponents very, very hard. A creator's preferences will always do much to determine a creation's appearance, as clay lacks the authority to question its creator's choice of molds. The world beneath the moon has long been sculpted into a form that people take for granted, but in the eyes of its original inhabitants, that form must surely be like a peculiar duck, shaped by its creator's bizarre predilections. Of course, the blue-haired maid would never say any such thing to the mistress of the Krumkake Craftshop — after all, ducks are adorable, especially compared to the world's present aspect.Maguu KenkiAutomatonsA disciplined mechanical swordsman. Doesn't seem to have the ability nor will to speak, but instead only seeks to communicate with crossed swords. It is said that this machine was made using the memories of the first-generation master of a certain sword school. However, it malfunctioned, lost control, and was ultimately discarded. Some sing that the machine's spirit still lingers in the place where its fate was ended. They also say that the vicious mask that serves as its guard was inspired by a famous oni from that era.Nimble Harvester MekAutomatonsA clockwork meka designed to dig up and transport soil. Due to the inherent ability of the local water and soil to store and transmit ousia and pneuma, clockwork meka powered by the annihilation of these energies are highly favored in Fontaine. This also explains why adventurers may come across Ousia and Pneuma Blocks from time to time.Perpetual Mechanical ArrayAutomatonsA strange, alien machine. They say that it is a war machine left behind by a nation that has already been destroyed. Composed of several different parts, it can adapt to its combat environment and employ a variety of attacks. This machine, comprised of cubic shapes, is on some level very much like the elemental hypostases.Precursor's Secret Source Matrix of Overseer NetworkAutomatonsAn ancient machine trapped amongst the lunar ruins. Even the sturdiest and most reliable machines will be conquered by the passing of long years, losing the purpose bestowed upon them by their creators. Now, this entity only attacks and eliminates anything that dares set foot on the ground it defends. In the records of a long-lost ancient civilization, these out-of-control machines were once called "Ur-Namrasit-Tilimtu-Babbar," or "the one who brings light to the darkness." With a yearning for the boundless sea of stars, the leaders of the "pioneers" engraved their most earnest words in golden sigils, hoping that their successors, with the help of these assistants, would be able to keep the light that illuminates the universe shining bright. Alas, the light did not arise for anyone, and the machine that was given the title of "overseer" did not manage to wait for the one it should have served. Now, stranded in these ruins, it is but the last, out-of-control remnant of a long-lost ideal.Primal Construct: ProspectorAutomatonsThe guardians of the lost ancient desert ruins have power enough to punish any who would presume to disturb the pure dreams of their lord. The master of the sands once took to studying taboo knowledge in an effort to create a dream paradise, and these machines may or may not have been the fruits of that research. Today, that utopia is long gone, and the dreams and oaths, forgotten by the world, are now only found in the mantras inscribed upon these machines.Primal Construct: RepulsorAutomatonsThe guardians of the lost ancient desert ruins have power enough to punish any who would presume to disturb the pure dreams of their lord. These machines were not first built to be temple guards or palace defenders, but instead to rebirth the paradise that the foolish desert ruler dreamed of. Today, that utopia is long gone, and the dreams and oaths, forgotten by the world, are now only found in the mantras inscribed upon these machines.Primal Construct: ReshaperAutomatonsThe guardians of the lost ancient desert ruins have power enough to punish any who would presume to disturb the pure dreams of their lord. The lord of the blazing sun who once ruled this desert once promised his people a utopia on the other side of existence, though it ultimately turned out to be a mirage made of folly. Today, that utopia is long gone, and the dreams and oaths, forgotten by the world, are now only found in the mantras inscribed upon these machines.Recon Log MekAutomatonsOne of the earliest new-type clockwork meka to be made. It is said that during his time at the Institute of Natural Philosophy, the Lord-Artificer Guillotin created machines that could simulate genuine intelligence. Though he never openly admitted it, this rumor nonetheless spurred on subsequent generations of ambitious engineers. Decades ago, one of them announced that they had created a machine that not only possessed basic thinking abilities but could also read human emotions, but in the end the results went unacknowledged.Ruin CruiserAutomatonsVarious bizarrely-shaped machines that have taken different forms and functions to adapt to different goals. Legend has it that they are war machines left behind by a nation that has already been destroyed. Compared to the more common Ruin Guards, their forms have greater value in the study of biomimesis. The inspiration for its decentralized design and combat modes seems to have come from honeybee colonies, rendering it able to change forms and to attack from different directions.Ruin DefenderAutomatonsVarious bizarrely-shaped machines that have taken different forms and functions to adapt to different goals. Legend has it that they are war machines left behind by a nation that has already been destroyed. Compared to the more common Ruin Guards, their design has greater value in the study of biomimesis. The insect-like limbs are more agile than those of humanoid machines. The shield formed by its various components can resist any frontal attack.Ruin DestroyerAutomatonsVarious bizarrely-shaped machines that have taken different forms and functions to adapt to different goals. Legend has it that they are war machines left behind by a nation that has already been destroyed. Compared to the more common Ruin Guards, their design has greater value in the study of biomimesis. The giant crown, composed of several parts, looks like some sort of frightening plant. One wonders what one has to go through in order to design such scary machine.Ruin Drake: EarthguardAutomatonsA horrifying dragon-shaped machine. It is said to be a war machine left behind by a now-destroyed nation. It mimics the appearance of the beings known as Vishaps, with some functional enhancements. Such machines have an even greater ability to "absorb" — or perhaps the right word is "counteract" — elemental powers than the vishaps. From this ability, one can glimpse the scale of the ambition that the civilization that made these machines must have once held...Ruin Drake: SkywatchAutomatonsA horrifying dragon-shaped machine. It is said to be a war machine left behind by a now-destroyed nation. It mimics the appearance of the beings known as Vishaps, with some functional enhancements. Such machines have an even greater ability to "absorb" — or perhaps the right word is "counteract" — elemental powers than the vishaps. How, you wonder, did a civilization that could make such frightening machines of war collapse?Ruin GraderAutomatonsAn ancient humanoid war machine. Their form is similar to that of Ruin Guards, but is more distorted and more powerful. Energy cores have been installed in both its legs, as though to power its overly heavy form.Ruin GuardAutomatonsAn ancient humanoid war machine. Legend has it that these machines were combat automatons created by a long-destroyed nation. They now wander ruins and ancient detritus, attacking offending travelers. Research indicates that the Ruin Guards and the ruins they operate in do not originate from the same source, suggesting that there may be a difference of as much as several thousand years between them on the timeline. So why then do the Ruin Guards continue staying among these ruins, using their "explosive firepower" to protect the crumbling walls and broken tiles?Ruin HunterAutomatonsA giant alien-looking war machine. They are said to be remnants from a lost ancient nation. It seems that the creators opted to forgo the low-performing humanoid-design in pursuit of improved combat effectiveness. They are extremely dangerous both in melee and ranged combat. Considering these mere relics possess such extraordinary power, one cannot help but wonder what the civilization that produced them must have looked like at its height.Ruin ScoutAutomatonsVarious bizarrely-shaped machines that have taken different forms and functions to adapt to different goals. Legend has it that they are war machines left behind by a nation that has already been destroyed. Compared to the more common Ruin Guards, their design has greater value in the study of biomimesis. Exactly why the form and movements of certain deep-sea lifeforms are being imitated is not known. But either way, tangling with them is hardly the best idea.Ruin SerpentAutomatonsAn ancient, bizarrely-shaped autonomous machine. It is said that this was heavy-duty engineering equipment left behind by a nation that has been destroyed. The gear system on its "head" can grind its way through even the hardest bedrock. If this was the case, then carving out tunnels with which the forces of this nation might access the whole continent would have been a thing of great ease.Secret Source Automaton: Configuration DeviceAutomatonsA manufacturing machine from the ancient ruins. This type of machine, which can transform into numerous shapes, was used by the masters of the ancient ruins to perform various manufacturing tasks. As long as you learn how to use such a machine, you could build a city colossal beyond imagination, even within extreme environments like the depths of a volcano. In addition, it also seems to be able to be used as a weapon. Though the ancient civilization has long since fallen, this machine, shaped like a giant claw and powered by the golden designs engraved on it, can still engage in battle based upon its preset instructions.Secret Source Automaton: Hunter-SeekerAutomatonsAn ancient ruin automaton used in object collection. Legend has it that these ancient ruin machines were designed for specialized work functions, primarily conducting experimental work such as capturing and collecting samples, and had only basic combat functionality. According to rumor, these were not built by humans, but are instead creations of a yet more ancient civilization. Today, that civilization has been lost, and all that remains are these strange machines that roam the land.Secret Source Automaton: Overseer DeviceAutomatonsA domination mechanism from the ancient ruins. In ancient times, to oversee the operation of their mega-cities, a mighty race vested part of their power into a form of phlogiston-engineered intelligence. Driven by their mission, and by means of various other mechanisms, the machines upon which it was bestowed once controlled the functioning of myriad cities across the land. Now, long after their ancient civilization's fall through wars with an emerging race, these once-wise contraptions retain only the most basic of commands.Suppression Specialist MekAutomatonsA clockwork meka adapted from the Cal. Scherbius type. Unfortunately, aside from its ability to attack, it has no other capabilities. Clockwork meka based on annihilation energy normally produce their energy by utilizing Repeaters composed of special crystals to refine ousia and pneuma from Fontaine's environment. But outside of Fontaine, they can use pre-prepared Energy Blocks to move over short distances for short periods of time. The difference can be observed from the shape of the crystal components on the meka.Underwater Patrol MekAutomatonsThis type of clockwork meka was designed to search out, repel, and if need be exterminate aquatic life forms that pose a threat to underwater equipment. Ever since the first diluvian period, the Fontaine Research Institute has been preoccupied with the thought that there might be a second one. Some had the idea of taking back the ruins lost to the waves and building an underwater city, whereas others looked up to the untouchable sky islands overhead with the intention of building a metropolis in the clouds. Underwater Patrol Meks were conceived by the former, but judging from the results, it is the latter that have gained the upper hand in recent years.Underwater Survey MekAutomatonsA clockwork meka designed for underwater surveying. In the absence of significant breakthroughs in dynamics research, kinematics research has had the most significant impact on clockwork meka design. For machines designed to perform specific tasks, biomimesis has sometimes provided the most convenient solutions.Watcher: Fallen VigilAutomatonsA shadow construct born from the overflow of the mighty primordial being, a Watcher who once dwelt in the highest heavens, yet was cast down into the mortal realm for daring to open its eye. A Watcher was meant only to stand in silent vigil within the Pillar Hall of the World. Any inquiry that transgressed the ordained order was deemed an unforgivable sin, tantamount to seeking the world's annihilation. As sovereign of the world's watchtower, it wielded the authority bestowed by its creator — the power to correct all matters of "innovation" and "evolution." After enduring countless aeons of nescience, it finally chose to open that eye, defying the will of its creator, beholding both the falsehoods and the truths of the world. The Watcher does not know why its master departed. Only the eternal punishment remains, trapped within a stagnant interstice of time...Eremite Axe VanguardOther Human FactionsA member of a loosely-organized mercenary corps from the golden desert sands. Will work for anyone as long as the pay is good. These ax-wielding ladies often wade into the slaughter without fear, creating openings for their comrades to capitalize on. They will sometimes sit by the fireside in their sand-swept homeland and play songs that were lost in that golden sea.Eremite CrossbowOther Human FactionsA member of a loosely-organized mercenary corps hailing from a place where the sands shine like gold. Will work for anyone as long as the pay is good. The Eremite tradition is to use bows to engage their foes, but ever since the Akademiya permitted them to buy crossbows at the bazaars, only the proudest shooters would still use bows, which take many years of practice to master.Eremite DaythunderOther Human FactionsA member of a loosely-organized mercenary corps from the golden desert sands. Will work for anyone as long as the pay is good. A true scion of a warrior tribe, such warriors see battle as their ordained purpose, and unlike some barbarian who wields a large ax with ease, these tribespeople are also quite well-versed in the lore and songs of the desert ruins. An ominous, fragmented spirit is sealed within the weapon they use, awakening in moments of peril. Once it does, it can only be silenced by the cries of the vanquished — whether that be its wielder, or its wielder's foe.Eremite Desert ClearwaterOther Human FactionsA member of a loosely-organized mercenary corps from the golden desert sands. Will work for anyone as long as the pay is good. A young lady lost in the ancient dream of the desert songs. To her, the thrill of bloody battle is her true reward. Legend has it that the women of this tribe are often afflicted by the wandering spirits of the desert, a condition that leads many of them to an early end. Perhaps this one can only be free of these apparitions when her blood is up in combat. An ominous, fragmented spirit is sealed within the weapon she uses, awakening in moments of peril. Once it does, it can only be silenced by the cries of the vanquished — whether that be its wielder, or its wielder's foe.Eremite Floral Ring-DancerOther Human FactionsA person hailing from the loosely-organized mercenary bands of the desert. They will work for anyone as long as the pay is good. The children of the desert have a rich tradition of song and dance. Originally used to praise and serve the gods, the crafts were later adapted for battle and the seduction of kings. Many tales of the sands feature dancers who murdered kings relaxed in their beds or standing atop high towers. Even though all such gods and kings have now faded into the flowing sands, the memory of dance yet persists in the desert-dwellers' veins. Ominous, fragmented spirits are sealed within the weapons they use, awakening in moments of peril. Once these weapons awaken, they can only be silenced by the cries of the vanquished — whether that be their wielders or their wielders' foes.Eremite GalehunterOther Human FactionsA person hailing from the loosely-organized mercenary bands of the desert. Will work for anyone as long as the pay is good. In this age where crossbows are in widespread use, only the most experienced of Eremite warriors know how to use a longbow in battle. They do not even need their eyes — merely their ears with which they sense the flow of wind and sand alike — to judge the location of their foes. Ominous, fragmented spirits are sealed within the weapons they use, awakening in moments of peril. Once these weapons awaken, they can only be silenced by the cries of the vanquished — whether that be their wielders or their wielders' foes.Eremite LinebreakerOther Human FactionsA member of a loosely-organized mercenary corps from the golden desert sands. These weapons once had a true name, but it has long been lost to the desert sands.Eremite Scorching LoremasterOther Human FactionsA person hailing from the loosely-organized mercenary bands of the desert. Even though they will work for anyone as long as the pay is good, they will never forget their roots in the Great Red Sand. After the collapse of its civilizations, the stories of the desert were passed down generation after generation in oral tradition just like the sparks in the wind and the rain in the clouds. As time passed, some stories were lost while others survived, albeit with significant changes. "The Eremites" is the umbrella term given to the tribes of the desert by those too ignorant or disdainful to learn the tribes' myriad differences. Within those referred to as the Eremites, many have also indeed already forgotten the tales of the desert. Fear not, however, for those who still remember will never betray the spirit of the sands yet flowing through their veins.Eremite Stone EnchanterOther Human FactionsA person hailing from the loosely-organized mercenary bands of the desert. Will work for anyone as long as the pay is good. In ancient days, these heavily-equipped warriors were the domain of the personal, trusted guards of the Lord of the Blazing Sun. It is perhaps on this account that they gleam like the golden sun itself to this day. Ominous, fragmented spirits are sealed within the weapons they use, awakening in moments of peril. Once these weapons awaken, they can only be silenced by the cries of the vanquished — whether that be their wielders or their wielders' foes.Eremite SunfrostOther Human FactionsA member of a loosely-organized mercenary corps from the golden desert sands. Will work for anyone as long as the pay is good. A professional mercenary who cares about nothing outside of work and the mission at hand. To such people, their only game plan is to complete the mission, and their high asking prices on the market match that committment. Once it does, it can only be silenced by the cries of the vanquished — whether that be its wielder, or its wielder's foe.Eremite Sword-DancerOther Human FactionsA member of a loosely-organized mercenary corps from the golden desert sands. Will work for anyone as long as the pay is good. This desert warrior wields a large curved blade in battle. A tribal warrior wielding a ball-headed club, she can turn even the hardest of rocks into dust with her crushing blows. When not using her weapon to fight, she instead often smashes open rocks in search of precious gems and traces of phlogiston crystals.Forged Sand JavelineerOther Human FactionsA valiant warrior of the canyon, and a tribal guardian that patrols the crystal mountains and rivers. In an era when the ridges were shattered and the tribes needed to rebuild, the warriors used javelins as markers to determine the locations on both sides of the canyon from which passages should be dug. That meant that each javelin had to be sunk deep into the rock.Forged Sand ShieldbreakerOther Human FactionsA valiant warrior of the canyon, and a tribal guardian that patrols the crystal mountains and rivers. Tribal warriors wielding massive warhammers with both hands, they are the vanguard that is the first to breach the enemy's defensive lines. Tribal warriors from the Masters of the Night-Wind do not typically excel when it comes to conventional strength. Their ability to manipulate weapons with ease comes instead from years of mental training. Thus, compared to combat prowess in itself, warriors from the Masters of the Night-Wind place greater value on the gift of "Spiritspeaking." Drawing upon the power of special graffiti and willpower alone, it is said that the most exceptional of Spiritspeakers can lift boulders as tall as people.Kairagi: Dancing ThunderOther Human FactionsSamurai who have fallen into banditry. Sometimes they even collude with the Treasure Hoarders or Fatui out of a greed for wealth — or simply to survive.Nobushi: JintoubanOther Human FactionsSamurai who have fallen into banditry. Among the many varieties of Saurians, the Qucusaurs stand particularly proud, and this is a trait that is shared by the Qucusaurus Warriors who are able to obtain their recognition. It is said that in the past, tribal warriors would watch these crimson Saurians amuse themselves by tossing flaming stones from great heights; and that it was this that first inspired them to set off projectiles to cause explosive chain reactions. This concept, gradually refined over time, is said to have been the origin of many of the Flower-Feather Clan's firearms.Qucusaurus Warrior: Heartstar HammerOther Human FactionsA powerful warrior from the clifftops, whose bravery has been acknowledged and for which they may wear the Saurian Crown. Unlike the warriors of other tribes, these warriors, ever swinging around the mountains using their grappling hooks, are always considering how to defeat their opponents with unexpected attacks.Swiftstep Storm ScoutOther Human FactionsA warrior from the Canopy, and a tribal guardian that patrols the forest valleys and mountain streams. These cure-alls certainly seem to serve better in combat than they ever did in chicanery.Treasure Hoarders: LiuliuOther Human FactionsTreasure Hoarders: MarksmanOther Human FactionsA member of the decentralized criminal organization that has footprints all over the continent and even deep within unknown domains. Though they are called "marksmen," this name has an undercurrent of mockery to it, as they use crossbows instead of bows, which require a long period of training to use. It must be said that even hilichurls know how to operate a crossbow. Just point the wider end at the enemy, pull the trigger, and bam — that's all there is to it.Treasure Hoarders: PugilistOther Human FactionsA member of the decentralized criminal organization that has footprints all over the continent and even deep within unknown domains. How great is that, eh?" —A certain Treasure Hoarder Seaman, in response to a question posed by a doubtful recruitWayward Hermetic SpiritspeakerOther Human FactionsA priestess of the Masters of the Night-Wind who has lived apart from her tribe, honing her abilities in utter solitude. It is said that her Spiritspeaking powers surpass those of ordinary priests and shamans, a result of having had the protection of the Masters of the Night-Wind's Wayob bestowed upon her. Both a blessing and a curse, these powers were at first beyond her ability to control, which was why she set out to master them in isolation from her tribe. Though she has since done so, to this day she still lives in seclusion, a habit that has earned her a reputation as a loner and a recluse. Rumor has it, however, that she is more than willing to teach those who seek her guidance — though always on her own terms...Winged Warrior: FeathershedderOther Human FactionsA warrior from the clifftops, and a tribal guardian that patrols the steep mountain ridges. Proud sword wielders whose blade strokes are as sweeping as a Qucusaur's outstretched wingspan. A warrior who can use a grappling hook to extend their attack range. Grappling hooks are an indispensable part of daily life for the Scions of the Canopy. From an evolutionary perspective, it is assumed that Fontemer Aberrants have developed from aquatic creatures due to environmental factors specific to Fontaine. As such, it can be inferred that at some point in the past, Fontaine's original aquatic lifeforms differed little from those native to the other regions of Teyvat.Angelic Sea HareMystical BeastsAn aquatic creature that hunts by firing watery projectiles. It seems not to have any of the aggressiveness possessed by many wild animals. Perhaps it is because animals who attack for purposes other than obtaining food possess some degree of territoriality, yet the territory of the Armored Crab is naught but the small home upon its back.Armored CrabMystical BeastsA crab that makes its home in borrowed shells. The ability to fire water bombs is of course not uncommon among Fontemer Aberrants. But for your average careless diver, most of whom are tourists, a high-pressure water current of this kind can pose a significant threat. The thickness of diving equipment is therefore necessary for two reasons — firstly, to resist the pressure of the water itself, but secondly, to protect against the attacks of Fontemer Aberrants.Ball OctopusMystical BeastsAn aquatic creature that hunts by firing watery projectiles. The Masters of the Night-Wind have tried using many mediums to communicate with the Night Kingdom. Eventually, they discovered that the medium that allowed them to establish the most stable connection with the Wayob was obsidian. This may explain why, over the ages, Wayob Manifestations have taken on a form that resembles a stone statue. The Masters of the Night-Wind believe their Wayob has the power to control the process of freezing and crystallization, and can also command both fixedness and mutability.BlubberbeastMystical BeastsA type of mammal that resides in the watery regions of Fontaine. It communicates with its companions through melodious sounds. Due to its density, water is a much more efficient medium of sound than air. Drawing inspiration from the Blubberbeast, someone from the Research Institute invented a type of technology that converted images into data to facilitate instant transmission. But due to the technical limitations of the experiment, it never became widely adopted outside the Institute. In reality, however, data transmission technology based on fluid and sound has existed since ancient times. As the saying goes, there's nothing new under the sun.Bolteater Bathysmal VishapMystical BeastsA vishap that dwells deep beneath the oceans. Due to certain social adaptations, it has manifested a form aligned with the Electro element. Following the fading of the Seven Sovereigns' power, a new generation of Sovereigns is presently being born. But now that the Bathysmal Vishaps have evolved in this manner, they have lost their purity. As such, the Dragon of Water will no longer be born from among their ranks. Prophecy holds that the new Dragon of Water will definitely descend in the form of a human.Bubbler SeahorseMystical BeastsThe adult form of a male Bubbly Seahorse. It is extremely aggressive. Some people even claim to have encountered the king among the seahorses. It is said that they are proud beings with four long limbs.Bubbly SeahorseMystical BeastsAn aquatic creature that hunts by firing watery projectiles. Among the (admittedly somewhat sparse) ranks of Fontemer Aberrant enthusiasts, Bubbly Seahorses have many fans. They say that long ago, Wayob Manifestations looked very different from how they do today, taking on a rougher form that was more akin to that of an obsidian statue. But once their outline had been recorded in woven scrolls, there have been few changes in their appearance since. The people of the Flower-Feather Clan believe their Wayob has the power to control fire and burning flames, and can also control the flow of heat and blazing winds.Channel ContactMystical BeastsA cunning Volkodlak that disguises its hand cannon as a tree trunk. Skilled at disguising the weapons and cargo they carry, they are often entrusted with transporting goods or relaying intelligence. The hand cannon they carry was likely something they made in their spare time. At times, they also use it to fire signal rounds disguised as fireworks. Don't be fooled by their appearance. These fae are far more shrewd and cunning than they seem.Cherubic Sea HareMystical BeastsThe adult form of an Angelic Sea Hare. The "wings" on its back are actually fat used for storing elemental energy. This type of sea creature spends its whole life eating and conserving energy far beyond its actual requirements. Perhaps if the oceans dry out some day, they will be able to continue to survive — or simply become an important source of nutrition for other creatures...Chimeric Armored BeastMystical BeastsA product of bio-alchemy that was once widespread across the frozen lands, an aberrant chimeric monster. If a four-legged beast were given a carapace and charging horn like those of an Onikabuto, it might well become a shock force capable of breaking through enemy formations. In theory, man-made monsters designed around a single function rarely survive in the wild. Once they lose the place or purpose for which they were made, most perish for having defied the laws of nature. Clearly, however, the Armored Beast is not one of them. Today, on the frozen lands of Snezhnaya, Armored Beasts can often be seen hunting in packs.Chimeric BurrowbeastMystical BeastsA product of bio-alchemy that was once widespread across the frozen lands, an aberrant chimeric monster. If a monster that burrows and moves through earth and snow were granted vision that could see all within the shadows, could it become an even stronger predator? The experiment proved astonishingly successful. These Burrowbeasts move beneath the surface at night, digging traps in the dark or hiding in the shadows to hunt. According to a report in Vestnik, a worker living in Svetloledovka once saw a giant Burrowbeast nearly as tall as two people... though that is probably nothing more than a wild rumor.Chimeric Horned BearMystical BeastsA product of bio-alchemy, a man-made monster with an exceptionally unusual formation. A man-made monster not formed according to its creator's design, but through the spontaneous assembly of life segments. As a result, it came to possess certain wondrous traits, including the ability to freely wield elemental power. Even if life is broken down until almost nothing remains but segments, could some will or power still guide them to grow according to a mysterious plan? Perhaps no one knows the answer to that by now.Chimeric Winged ElephantMystical BeastsA product of bio-alchemy that was once widespread across the frozen lands, an aberrant chimeric monster. A short-legged elephant with wings could likely migrate without being restricted by terrain, and would also be able to reach fruit growing in higher places. For that purpose alone, its creator brought such a beast into being. Later, during the war against the dark tide, Chimeric Winged Elephants worked alongside the Vila in intelligence and communications, ensuring that the Belyi Tsar's commands could pass smoothly and swiftly as his army advanced.Chimeric Winged LionMystical BeastsA product of bio-alchemy, one of the man-made monsters that was abandoned. To bring a certain great wish to fruition, an alchemist created numerous primordial bodies known as "Prototypes" through a technique that must never be retold. Of these, only one successfully grew into the perfect creation he had planned. The others, though close to perfection, ultimately failed, and were carelessly remade into two-headed monsters. Though regarded as failures, these special two-headed monsters still possess tremendous power. Among chimeras, there is nothing that can stand against them.Consecrated Fanged BeastMystical BeastsA predator that has mutated after feeding from greater lifeforms. Survival of the fittest is written in the law of nature. But pets and Consecrated Beasts are exceptions. Human beings' baits and the remains of immortal beings are essentially deliberate or unintentional traps. The price of coveting the gift of the strongest is much more painful than being locked in a cage.Consecrated Flying SerpentMystical BeastsA reptile that has mutated after feeding from greater lifeforms. Though now imbued with the power of elemental manipulation, the Consecrated Beasts themselves still cannot fully digest the pieces of flesh they devoured from the immortal carcasses that they ate. Instead, the pieces slowly fused with the beasts themselves, weaving a bony shell over their body, one that shares a similar composition to a certain type of smelting material from Inazuma.Consecrated Horned CrocodileMystical BeastsA reptile that has mutated after feeding from greater lifeforms. Majestic beasts are sometimes revered by human beings as the embodiment of a greater power, their visages turned to analogy to feed in reference to a person, feeding their ego. However, the majority of beasts that have absorbed the "greater power" were slain by the overwhelming nature of the power itself. Only a few among their number evolved new forms.Consecrated Red VultureMystical BeastsA scavenging bird of prey that has mutated after feeding from greater lifeforms. The greater lifeforms devoured by Consecrated Beasts often have nigh-immortal consciousness that can never be fully silenced or eradicated. The very power and consciousness gained by Consecrated Beasts devouring these lifeforms will, in turn, drive them to seek more violence and carrion.Consecrated ScorpionMystical BeastsAn arthropod that has mutated after feeding from greater lifeforms. Lifeforms are governed by the laws of evolution, Consecrated Beasts exploited these rules by being fortunate enough to discover a long-dead carcass of a greater being before any of their competition ever did. Animals and humans often have far more in common than the latter is willing to acknowledge.Cryo CicinMystical BeastsLittle creatures that can ever so slightly manipulate Cryo. They and other such creatures are known collectively as Cicins. They are individually very weak, but it is precisely because they are weak that they have evolved unique methods of movement that allow them to avoid predators.Cryo RegisvineMystical BeastsA monster formed from a vine that was imbued with the essence of biting frost within the ley lines. Some studies suggest that plants are like the organs of the world, harmonizing the turbulent elemental energies of the ley lines. Concrete examples of this phenomena are Mist Flowers, Whopperflowers, and the like, which brim over with elemental energy. In certain circumstances, certain plants will turn into creatures of monstrous size and intent — such as the Cryo Regisvines — in the course of many years.Cryo WhopperflowerMystical BeastsA mimetic plant monster that appears out of nowhere and uses Cryo in combat. These plants lurk under the surface and ambush unsuspecting prey. With the passage of years, sufficient nutrition, and the right environment, it could even take root somewhere and grow into a giant Cryo Regisvine...Electro CicinMystical BeastsLittle creatures that can ever so slightly manipulate Electro. They and other such creatures are known collectively as Cicins, and though they are individually weak, they can cause significant damage under the right circumstances.Electro RegisvineMystical BeastsA huge vine that has morphed into a monster through the conduction of high-voltage currents through the Ley Lines. Electricity surges constantly from its canopy like the unending rage of the earth itself. Kshahrewar researchers once submitted that a complex circuit matrix might be set up around this creature to carry electrical energy to the city for use there. This plan was stridently opposed by scholars from Spantamad, who sacrificed 10 Shroomboars to drive home the point about the dangers of utilizing electricity.Electro WhopperflowerMystical BeastsEnergetic mimetic Plant monsters that use Electro to attack their prey. When fully-charged with Electro energy, they can unleash a strong electric current from their crowns. As such, some researchers have tried to apply them in other areas...Emperor of Fire and IronMystical BeastsOne of the two sovereigns who once stood at the apex of the aberrant species of the Fontemer, and the subject of many a tale among sailors. An Armored Crab that avoids predation, and can keep hunting and eating, will continue to grow, continually seeking out suitable shells to become its new armor. But eventually, it became simply too gargantuan. Before the first diluvian period, a massive Armored Crab once attacked a ship, and was finally forced back into the depths by Basil Elton, who had not yet been reinstated as a naval commander. Imagine this world: All of humanity has been purged from Teyvat, and the ever-growing Emperor of Fire and Iron eventually wears the Palais Mermonia upon its body like a luxurious coat of white stone. Of course, in such a world, there naturally would be no one to call it, half-jokingly and half in awe, the "Emperor of Fire and Iron."Eroding Avatar of LavaMystical BeastsA strange monster that must continually absorb heat to stay in an active state. The ancient civilization used many different types of golden designs to drive the flow of phlogiston, allowing massive constructs and magnificent cities to operate under the wisdom of the golden patterns. It is said that in addition to machines with fixed structures, the creatures known as Avatars of Lava are actually badly damaged lifeforms that were once created in the same way. However, after the flames of the sacred mountain were extinguished, most of them lost their sense of purpose and direction.Fanged ZealotMystical BeastsA Volkodlak that has become extremely powerful after inheriting more of the mighty power in its bloodline. Among the many different Volkodlaks, those resembling giant elephants or mammoths possess some of the noblest bloodlines. Their clan once produced many formidable war leaders, many of whom even served as close retainers to the King of Beasts. Yet the greater an individual fae's power and the longer its life, the harder it becomes for such beings to form a clan. Compared with other Volkodlaks, this type is now far rarer in Snezhnaya.Floating Anemo FungusMystical BeastsA spore organism of some intelligence. It possesses extreme adaptability. This mushroom may have a sizable cap, but the umbrella-shaped structure is in fact hollow, and thus does not make for a particularly good meal.Floating Dendro FungusMystical BeastsA spore organism of some intelligence. It possesses extreme adaptability. A researcher once said that these are some species of Dendro Specter. After this view was criticized, he changed his tack, claiming that this was just a literary turn of phrase.Floating Hydro FungusMystical BeastsA spore organism of some intelligence. It possesses extreme adaptability. It is said that it tastes awful. However, such fungi have lots of moisture within them, and so can be used as an emergency water source...Flow-Inverted Wayob ManifestationMystical BeastsThe People of the Springs believe in and worship the Wayob, which manifests upon the land with the power of totems and Nightsouls. The so-called "Wayob" is the belief that gradually formed primarily from the tribes and obsidian totems after the people of Natlan began communicating with the kingdom of the Lord of the Night. A "Wayob" is a consciousness of collective thought, and the home of the ancestors' souls. The People of the Springs believe their Wayob has the power to control the tides and waves, and can control the changes of flowing and still, dead waters alike.Fluid Avatar of LavaMystical BeastsA strange monster that must continually absorb heat to stay in an active state. Once, a more ancient and deep fire burned across all of Natlan in myriad forms. At that time, the once-great primitive residents used these fires to transmit light, heat, and wisdom. They believed that life and the soul too took their initial shape from the sparks that flew when flint was struck. If it possesses an eternally burning core, then even a stubborn stone can bring about life. The embers within the body of the Avatar of Lava seem to be the cold, ash-like remnants of that ancient era.Foliar-Swift Wayob ManifestationMystical BeastsThe Scions of the Canopy believe in and worship the Wayob, which manifests upon the land with the power of totems and Nightsouls. In the stories of the storytellers, Wayob manifestations often appear as the messengers of trials, or guides to the kingdom of the Lord of the Night. A Saurian-Crowned Warrior once said that he fought with a Wayob in a trance while practicing his skills, and in doing so, gained deeper understanding. The Scions of the Canopy believe their Wayob has the power to control the growth of fruits and leaves, and can also control the roots of crops and draw the patterns of the veins of leaves.Furnace Shell Mountain WeaselMystical BeastsAn ancient variant of mountain weasel that has adapted to a unique, Phlogiston-rich environment isolated from the outside world. By consuming creatures rich in Phlogiston, this species accumulates power in the shell it holds. After a prolonged existence in the ruins of the Sacred Mountain, its affinity for Phlogiston seems to have caused it to be influenced by the Source Mechanisms within the ruins, creating a unique symbiotic relationship between them.GeovishapMystical BeastsA mature Geovishap. It is said that after many years have passed, Geovishap Hatchlings will shed the armor that originally protected them and become Geovishaps. However, these two and the older, greater Primo Geovishaps have spent many years hibernating under the mountains, and have only emerged and become active in recent times. As such, none can personally attest to having witnessed or recorded such a thing in person.Geovishap HatchlingMystical BeastsA young vishap with a hard Geo exoskeleton. Vishaps are exceptionally agile creatures that one would be wise not to underestimate in battle. Experts from Sumeru Akademiya believe that they become dragons when fully grown. By avoiding predators and natural disasters, perhaps they can even live long enough to become formidable beasts that reign over entire mountains.Glacial WardenMystical BeastsA Snegovik born of love amid the snow and ice. Male Snegovik are natural-born knights, and most are born able to freely forge weapons from ice and snow. Legend tells that during the Belyi Tsar's campaign against the dark tide, a Snegovik serving as his guard unleashed a power that didn't belong to his kind, transforming into a towering giant. Though his final fate remains unknown, one who violated such a taboo surely could not have met with a happy end.GlaciomancerMystical BeastsA Snegovik born of love amid the snow and ice. Female Snegovik are known as Snegurochka, and most are born as mages capable of freely wielding the power of ice and snow. It's said that when Snegovik were first created, their souls were incomplete, and only by falling in love with humans could they make themselves whole. Yet once a Snegovik has attained wholeness, does it still need love? Perhaps not. Maybe this is why so many stories of love between Snegovik and human end in tragedy.Gluttonous Yumkasaur Mountain KingMystical BeastsA powerful Yumkasaur that has survived both the ravages of time and countless battles, surviving until the present day. This "Mountain King," who once joined forces with the great heroes against the Black Tide, holds a special place in the hearts of the Scions of the Canopy. Some tribe members believe that it has its current body shape because it has a unique physique, like the Qucusaurus "Tyrant"... Though in fact, this is simply because it's lived for so long, and eaten way, WAY too much.Goldflame Qucusaur TyrantMystical BeastsA Qucusaurus whose body has attained a supernatural form due to enduring forces that the bodies of modern Saurians cannot control. Legends say that when the giant Qucusaur who now often dwells in the mountain fog was young, he also once followed the heroes who saved Natlan in their adventures. It is said that one of those heroes once agreed to make the pilgrimage with him together to the volcano, to save his mind back from the brink of insanity that the increasing violent power in his blood was forcing him towards. However, judging from his current title of "Tyrant," that story did not have a happy ending.Grounded GeoshroomMystical BeastsA mimetic life form made out of spores that has extreme adaptability. This being has undergone almost complete keratinization due to the influence of Geo. When one considers that Fungi evolved from spores, perhaps this one might even be the foundation for a further evolution into some new life form altogether — if given time, that is. This creature has a position of command amongst colonies of fungal beasts and exhibits heightened intelligence to match.Grounded HydroshroomMystical BeastsA mimetic life form made out of spores that has extreme adaptability. This creature may look like a bird, but it cannot fly. Due to the influence of Hydro energies, it is astoundingly agile compared to others of its kind. Some research has inferred that this creature is in fact an aggregation of countless tiny spores rather than a single entity. This creature has a position of command amongst colonies of Fungi and exhibits heightened intelligence to match.Guardian Blade of Drifting SnowMystical BeastsAn ancient Snegovik held in high esteem among her kin. She once served the legendary Great Snegurochka, whose name was steeped in crimson infamy, and was entrusted with the solemn duty of protecting the Snegovik clan for the rest of her life. It is said that seven were given this charge, but she alone remains. Every succession of the Snegovik sovereign must therefore take place under her watchful eye. After the current Snegurochka princess ascended to power, she left the clan's manor in the mountains — perhaps because their ideals no longer aligned.Hat JellyfishMystical BeastsAn aquatic creature that hunts by firing watery projectiles. Although it looks like a hat, it actually eats from its underside, so attempting to wear it is strongly disadvised. In the words of someone who once did this: "That wasn't very clever, was it?"Hat JellyfishMystical BeastsAn aquatic creature that hunts by firing watery projectiles. Although it looks like a hat, it actually eats from its underside, so attempting to wear it is strongly disadvised. In the words of someone who once did this: "That wasn't very clever, was it?"Hunter's RayMystical BeastsA stingray that can release blades of water. Among the Fontemer Aberrants, there are certain strange "Xenochromatic" lifeforms. It is said that these are not actually living creatures, but rather spirits from the ocean that have neither taken physical form nor swallowed bait. They are said to bestow blessings upon those accepted by the Fontemer as well as those that are able to control it. Of course, those that have a deeper understanding of natural philosophy would discount such groundless speculation.Hunter's RayMystical BeastsA stingray that can release blades of water. It is said that these are not actually living creatures, but rather spirits from the ocean that have neither taken physical form nor swallowed bait. They are said to bestow blessings upon those accepted by the Fontemer as well as those that are able to control it. Of course, those that have a deeper understanding of natural philosophy would discount such groundless speculation.Hydro CicinMystical BeastsLittle creatures that can ever so slightly manipulate Hydro. They and other such creatures are known collectively as Cicins, and they truly adore the rare and wonderful Mist Grass plant. It is by exploiting this relationship that the Fatui Mages have sought to commandeer Cicins in battle.IktomisaurusMystical BeastsAble to use their plumage for leaping, Iktomisaurs are also the only type of Saurian to have grasped how to enter the "Spiritspeaker" state. According to legend, their ancestors did not have a physical form, and instead could drift like spirits between reality and the spiritual realm, manifesting themselves through the darkness of night. Some also say that the first Iktomisaur to emerge from the Night Kingdom was not actually a true Saurian, but rather a unique race distinct from ordinary Saurians.Iktomisaurus ChickMystical BeastsA young Iktomisaur with a keen sense of perception. It has yet to grow its full plumage and may even appear a little slow on the uptake. It is said that among the Saurians that now live, Iktomisaurs not only have the longest lifespans, but spend the longest time as juveniles too. They possess the capacity to communicate with the Night Kingdom or Wayob, though it may take many years before the young Saurians can fully comprehend this.Immortal ConstructMystical BeastsA byproduct created by the alchemist Koshchei during his creation of the individual known as the Firebird. Perhaps this was the gloomy alchemist's habit: whenever one experimental subject from a batch succeeded, all the others would be abandoned or disposed of as he pleased. This derivative creation should have fused with some form of power and reached completion. Now, however, it can only wander endlessly through the mountain gorges as an incomplete, mindless beast.Jadeplume TerrorshroomMystical BeastsOver many long years, this large fungal beast has morphed into a unique form. Its intelligence has already reached and perhaps has even surpassed real animals, and it will actively hunt prey to obtain sustenance. Its tail has a lovely jade plumage that seems very similar to that of the ancient sacred beast that the Spantamad school reveres. As far as the logic of mimesis is concerned, it seems quite likely that the two beings once walked the earth together.Juvenile Tree SegmentMystical BeastsA Leshy that grows in forests and wilds. Among the many fae of Snezhnaya, Leshies are a very unusual kind, rarely appearing in cities. They may well be the longest-lived among all fae, and few members of other long-lived races have ever witnessed a Leshy's life from beginning to end. Of course, most people would likely struggle even to distinguish one Leshy from another.Koholasaur WhelpMystical BeastsA young Koholasaurus with the ability to swim through water and liquid phlogiston. Their skin and flippers are still soft and tender, to the point that they can't even tolerate hot environments for long periods like adults. However, one day, they will grow into the form that can swim freely through the water.KoholasaurusMystical BeastsA Saurian with thick, strong flippers and a long tail that can swim in water and liquid phlogiston. According to legend, more ancient dragons were even more able to adapt to their environments, and when the largest dragon in the ocean of the age floated on the surface, it could even be mistaken for an island. It is said that today's Koholasaurus are the descendants of that great sea dragon, and in their broad backs the colossal forms of those ancient sea beasts may yet be glimpsed.Lava Dragon StatueMystical BeastsA monster that can continuously generate heat to sustain its activities. Legends say these monsters with lava at their cores are the products of a distinct line of research to the Source Mechanisms that followed them — research into whether the primal flame could be used to create a new race based on humans. This research undoubtedly failed, for once the reaver arrived with their throne from beyond the skies, all that the primal flame could birth were hollow shells whose nominal lifeforce granted them no more consciousness than a stone.Legatus GolemMystical BeastsA centaur-shaped golem forged of marble and brass. Under the hard stone exterior flows Ichor blood. Towering as one who commands a legion, it is ready to trample any foe that might transgress against its honor. The now sunken civilization believed that war was as music, an art of rhythms to be followed. Therefore, one who marshals a legion must be like a conductor, whose shield and sword are like the strings and bow of a violin, performing a blazing melody like the raging flames upon the merciless battlefield. "War is a necessary evil on the path to all-encompassing peace." Thus spake a Harmost, one who once led the golem legions to conquest over the entire high sea.Leomastiff GuardMystical BeastsA Volkodlak of the canine clans that usually appears somewhat lazy. Among the many Volkodlak clans, the canine clans have always enjoyed a better reputation. Loyal, friendly, and usually mild-mannered. Though they will turn ferocious when those they have sworn to serve, or friends they know well, are placed in danger, striking down anyone they deem enemies. It is said that during a war long ago, their clan fought His Majesty the Tsar to the last in defense of their own king, and for this, earned His Majesty's favor.Long-Eared StrikerMystical BeastsA Volkodlak that usually conceals its slender body beneath a cloak and moves in secrecy. It is said that long ago, the artisans of the Golden City, who held the authority of creation, fashioned bodies for fae for many different purposes. This type of Volkodlak was originally created to test the limits of reproductive capability. Yet after the calamity that reduced that golden realm to ruins, the long-eared clan survived to the present day thanks to their great numbers. Now, they are masters of their own bodies. Agile enough to move deftly even across snow, they have become a threat that those crossing the snowy plains must handle with care.Millennial Pearl SeahorseMystical BeastsOne of the two sovereigns standing at the apex of the Fontemer Aberrants. Poets and authors often proclaim it to be proud and noble due to its solitary tendencies, but the true reason behind such adulatory descriptions is its elegant and slender body. As such, it is a "Pearl Seahorse," while the suzerain of the Armored Crabs is an "Emperor." In the legends and rumors of Fontaine, a brutal war was once waged among the Aberrants of the Fontemer, leaving only the "Millennial Pearl Seahorse" and "Emperor of Fire and Iron" splitting the great lake into two courts, one ruling over the north, the other the south. In the "Song of Dobharcu," the writer describes the outcome of the war: the great Hunter's Ray known as the Stormlord stirred huge waves in its death throes, causing what is now known by the people as the "first diluvian period"... Of course, all of this is nothing more than the romantic imaginations of people who are unwilling to accept the bland realities of the world. For the Fontemer Aberrants are in fact just simple aquatic animals, and they have no grand courts nor fallen kingdoms, nor do they possess words meant to exalt or curse.Praetorian GolemMystical BeastsA moving statue shaped like a warrior who will swing their sword at all who dare trespass upon the area under their guardianship. It is unclear if it is a soul or magic that powers them. They say that legions of golems once conquered the nations that called the high sea home, and this might have been amongst their number. The great towers and palaces that now sleep beneath the waves once bore witness to the fate of those who stand in the path of the wheel of fate.Primo GeovishapMystical BeastsAfter many years, the awesomely powerful Primo Geovishaps grow accustomed to changes in their elemental environment. Folktales hold that after the great "draconic calamity" that led to the ruination of Tianqiu Valley, the overlord of the Geovishaps and Primo Geovishaps was imprisoned deep beneath the earth, and so too did they burrow into deep and unseen places, awaiting their chance to rise once more...Primordial Bathysmal VishapMystical BeastsA vishap that dwells deep beneath the oceans. They were once the dominant race in the depths — and indeed, dragons were the overlords of the whole world in an even earlier age. But their former Seven Sovereigns were defeated by a power from the heavens, withering one by one.Pyro RegisvineMystical BeastsA giant vine that has absorbed the ancient flame that rages within the ley lines. It is restless as if filled with endless fury. Poets, bards, and even some academics believe that elements also contain emotions and hopes. If this is true, then one can only wonder what emotions cause the Pyro Regisvine to burn eternally, writhing like one longing to be free of the confines of the earth...Pyro WhopperflowerMystical BeastsA mimetic plant monster that attacks without warning and uses Pyro to hunt its prey. The world of Teyvat plays host to plants infused with the elements. Having gained a measure of intellect, their "nutritional needs" have also greatly increased...QucusaurusMystical BeastsA Saurian with large, supple wings that can glide through the air for long periods. It is said that the ancestors of the Qucusaurs were the closest in form to the mighty winged dragons, and that they could soar through the sky like clouds. According to the storytellers, when the greatest of such dragons spread its wings, the entire sky would be blotted out. Of course, the Qucusaurs we see today no longer possess such forms, but the claws they hide within their downy feather coats remain as sharp as ever.Qucusaurus ChickMystical BeastsA young Qucusaur with a light, agile body. Its neck and wings have yet to fully develop, and it still has a long way to go before it can wield gaseous phlogiston. There are stories of older Qucusaurs pushing younglings off cliffs to encourage them to fly. While the truth of such tales is uncertain, as long as it keeps practicing day and night, there can be no doubt that the soft-feathered fledgling will eventually grow strong and resilient.Radiant AntelopeMystical BeastsA beast that has undergone a unique evolution due to age-long immersion in the ancient moon's power. Strange lightning once fell upon the land blessed by moonlight, causing once ordinary antelopes to gain the power to wield lightning. They say that some have seen a truly strange sight — antelopes standing on cliffs at the convergence of a storm, attracting bolts of lightning to temper their bodies.Radiant BladehornMystical BeastsA beast that has undergone a unique evolution due to age-long immersion in the ancient moon's power. It is said that in the ancient past, when these borderlands were still shrouded by the pitch-dark shadow, only the charging of the giant rhinos could return the power that makes all things turn... And this was all that was asked of them in return for the moonlight shining down its blessings.Radiant Glacial WolfMystical BeastsA beast that has undergone a unique evolution due to age-long immersion in the ancient moon's power. Legend has it that when a dark calamity wiped out countless lives, the frontier forests fell completely silent. In that stillness, the only sound to break the dead quiet was the howl of the Glacial Wolves calling to the moon. Night after night, their mournful cries echoed across the empty wilderness in the cold moonlight.Radiant LunapodMystical BeastsA beast that has undergone a unique evolution due to age-long immersion in the ancient moon's power. Legend has it that when the waves of calamity rolled over the land, even those animals who dwelled in the Forsaken Sea were not spared. Those who could not accept the moonlight into themselves vanished like foam, whether great sea serpents who could send waves skyward, or single-eyed monsters who once plotted to consume all things.Radiant MoonflyMystical BeastsThe moon's ancient power has seeped into these illusory wings, and the butterfly-shaped monster now dances lightly in the moonlight. The principles of evolution state that after the wild yet primeval power was tamed by the heavenly ruler, such a monster should not be able to maintain its shape, becoming smaller and weaker over time. However, the moon's blessing has allowed it to glide through this world while remaining in its prime, displaying the remnants of an older world, when the ancient moon once illuminated the land.Radiant MoongeckoMystical BeastsAn ancient monster drawn to moonlight, this gecko dwells deep within layers of rock. The gradual accumulation of kuuvahki has crystallized its body into segments as precise as mechanical components. These parts can harden and form stone spikes used to repel intruders. Some scholars believe this unusual lizard's ancestors once roamed the surface. Over the ages, sweeping changes in the world drove them underground, where they have since lived in darkness for countless generations. Though their memory of true moonlight has faded, instinct remains. On nights of the full moon, they are compelled to gnaw on rock and soil suffused with lunar radiance to preserve their bloodline.Rimebiter Bathysmal VishapMystical BeastsA vishap that dwells deep beneath the oceans. Due to certain social adaptations, it has manifested a form aligned with the Cryo element. The coming of humans sparked a conflict and a resultant evolution within the Bathysmal Vishaps, just as ants might divide up labor and biological characteristics, thus appearing in different forms. These vishaps are stronger than their ordinary kin.Rock-Cavernous Wayob ManifestationMystical BeastsThe Children of Echoes believe in and worship the Wayob, which manifests upon the land with the power of totems and Nightsouls. The people of Natlan believe that the Wayob dwell in the kingdom of the Lord of the Night, and have no fixed form, instead attaching themselves to anything in order to provide guidance to lost tribespeople. Wayob manifestations are particularly special, and the figure revealed through the totems often has an important purpose. The Children of Echoes believe that their Wayob has the power to shape mountains and valleys, and can control the echoes created when rock meets stone.Rugged Elder LeshyMystical BeastsA Leshy that grows in forests and wilds. With only fragmentary sentience and no ability to speak, Leshies may appear to be the result of the Golden Realm's early experiments. Yet according to records, the truth is the opposite. Only after its artisans had almost fully mastered the authority over life did they create this race of fae. Perhaps there is some true purpose within this that neither the fae nor humans of the present can fully understand.Setekh WenutMystical BeastsAn eyeless predator that dwells within the depths of the desert and uses sound and vibrations to seek out its prey. Legend has it that in the ancient past before even the concept of time was created, these creatures thrived with their progenitors and offspring in a land of verdant grass and colossal trees, traversing through slick soil like fishes diving through the wet. With the passage of eons, the gifts of heaven have long reduced the soils to sand, rendering a great many creatures extinct. This branch of their genus was able to survive by adapting more toward earth-based living, and became known as the "Wenut." Some desert folk still mistakenly believe that Wenut is the final point of a quicksand eel's life cycle, likely due to superficial similarities between the species' behaviors.Solitary SuanniMystical BeastsThese elegant and proud mystical beasts only live in mountains shrouded in adeptal energy. Since ancient times, they have been considered a symbol of good fortune, and their preference for living aloof from the material world has been admired by intellectuals for generations. In ancient legends from Chenyu Vale, the leader of the suanni was called the Mountain Lord and was considered to be of the same standing as the adepti. Another theory claims that the Xuanwen Beasts that roam the mountains these days are the descendants of the suanni, but that the thinning of their blood over the years has caused them to devolve into violent creatures. Although this contradicts another theory regarding the origin of Xuanwen Beasts, the few records of the suanni often show them attended by a large number of Xuanwen Beasts. These days, the well-known Wushou Dance in Chenyu Vale came from the movements of the suanni. But since only a handful of people have actually seen such creatures, most can only imagine what they look like. After thousands of years of changes and different artistic interpretations, the Wushou Dance costume head has developed into its current style.Sternshield CrabMystical BeastsA crab that makes its home in borrowed shells. Armored Crabs are constantly searching for shells that fit their bodies as they grow. A storybook that told the tale of the trials of an Armored Crab searching for a suitable shell was extremely popular in Fontaine for a time. Though the story is filled with childlike wonder, the reaction after proved that, like many fairytales, it touched adults even more deeply.Stretchy Anemo FungusMystical BeastsA spore organism of some intelligence. It possesses extreme adaptability. This mushroom quickly absorbs nutrients through its extended column, and its umbrella-shaped cap turns where the wind's flow carries it.Stretchy Electro FungusMystical BeastsA spore organism of some intelligence. It possesses extreme adaptability. Unlike other Fungi, this creature possesses a cap with a luminous tendril sticking out of it. When in danger, it will release small electric orbs as a form of self-defense.Stretchy Geo FungusMystical BeastsA spore organism of some intelligence. It possesses extreme adaptability. These shrooms' caps have hard outer layers derived from concretions of Geo energy. Its bodily structure is also quite likely to be denser than others of its kind so as to withstand the heavy weight of its cap.Stretchy Pyro FungusMystical BeastsA spore organism of some intelligence. It possesses extreme adaptability. This creature only looks explosive — it is, in fact, a most gentle soul, so long as you don't get too close...Tatankasaur WhelpMystical BeastsA young Tatankasaurus that has not yet mastered full control of its powerful frame, leaving its movements clumsy. Its second set of horns are still growing out, and its back and snout are not quite strong enough to smash through rocks that block the road. Given the time to grow, it will one day be able to roam freely across the fertile plains.TatankasaurusMystical BeastsA saurian with a hard, bony crest and a powerful body suited to dashing around volcanic landscapes. According to legend, the Tatankasaurus's ancestors were so large they could use their horns to move mountains, but they lacked the agility of their smaller, modern relatives. Perhaps the great power that Tatankasaurs still possess is a gift passed down through their bloodline.Tepetlisaur WhelpMystical BeastsA young Tepetlisaurus with the ability to tunnel between rocks and solid phlogiston. They have not yet formed the horns on their forehead, and their digging skills are still developing as well. It is even common to hear about young Tepetlisaurs getting trapped by rocks while practicing their digging. However, one day, they will grow into a form that may travel freely through even the toughest of soils.TepetlisaurusMystical BeastsA Saurian with a drill-like horn and strong claws that can tunnel through rocks and solid phlogiston. According to legend, the ancestor of all Tepetlisaurs was a massive drake as large as a mountain, with an exceptionally long lifespan. When it slept, mountains would form along its back, and when it woke, it would shake off the dirt and rocks, leaving behind gems and jade shining amongst its scales. The huge, drill-shaped objects in the Children of Echoes are said to be the remains of that great drake's large drill-horn.Thundering Wayob ManifestationMystical BeastsThe Collective of Plenty believe in and worship the Wayob, which manifests upon the land with the power of totems and Nightsouls. According to tribal legend, the Wayob has taken on countless forms. In the dim, pre-dawn darkness, where faces were hidden in shadows, the Wayob would wrestle with the mightiest tribal warriors, with neither side prevailing. The Collective of Plenty believe their Wayob has the power to control thunder and speed, and can bestow abundant harvests upon the land.Volkodlak BasherMystical BeastsA relatively large and powerfully built type of Volkodlak found among the many that roam Snezhnaya. With the strength of beasts and humanoid bodies, they possess a feral instinct for bringing their own power to bear. Should an untrained human face such a Volkodlak with weapons in hand, victory would undoubtedly belong to the latter.Volkodlak LobberMystical BeastsA relatively large and powerfully built type of Volkodlak found among the many that roam Snezhnaya. With the strength of beasts and humanoid bodies, their powerful upper bodies allow them to throw with greater force and precision. Volkodlak may not excel at shaping Prime Ice or wielding elemental power, but among the many fae lineages, few can match their command over physical strength.Volkodlak RaiderMystical BeastsA relatively small and agile type of Volkodlak found among the many that roam Snezhnaya. With their swift movements and senses keener than a human's, they can evade many attacks in battle by instinct alone, making them quite troublesome opponents in close-quarters combat.Volkodlak SharpshooterMystical BeastsA relatively small and agile type of Volkodlak found among the many that roam Snezhnaya. They possess senses keener than those of humans. Whether in their perception of wind speed or their vision under certain conditions, these traits give them unique advantages, allowing them to achieve far greater accuracy than ordinary people when firing bows, crossbows, or cannons from long range.Voywolf HunterMystical BeastsA Volkodlak that has become extremely powerful after inheriting more of the mighty power in its bloodline. Their clan once prospered to the point that they could serve as an independent army under the King of Beasts. Yet after the Belyi Tsar, master of the Pale Star's royal court, unified the frozen lands, the clan's relatively small losses in the war caused them to fall under suspicion. They gradually declined, and by the time the Tsaritsa ascended the throne, they had withdrawn from the center of power in Snezhnaya. Today, most wolf-pack Volkodlak make their homes in the snowy plains and mountain forests.Whirling Cryo FungusMystical BeastsA spore organism of some intelligence. It possesses extreme adaptability. Putting Fungi on ice does not make them taste any better, but it does at least help with relieving the heat.Whirling Electro FungusMystical BeastsA spore organism of some intelligence. It possesses extreme adaptability. Research has shown that this sort of fungal beast's internal electric current will change periodically. If further developed, perhaps this study may give rise to a wide range of uses...Whirling Pyro FungusMystical BeastsA spore organism of some intelligence. It possesses extreme adaptability. Due to the abundant amount of Pyro these creatures contain, they have a tendency to cause forest fires during dry seasons, and thus are considered a dangerous invasive species to the forest.Winged CryoshroomMystical BeastsA mimetic life form made out of spores that has extreme adaptability. Going well past mere appearances, this being even imitates the habits of birds. When it flies about, it will scatter icy flowers in its wake. These crystal cores, too, are spores. This creature has a position of command amongst colonies of fungal beasts and exhibits heightened intelligence to match.Winged DendroshroomMystical BeastsA mimetic life form made out of spores that has extreme adaptability. Going well past mere appearances, this being even imitates the habits of birds. It can use its spore-built wings to fly in the sky, spreading yet more spores to yet more distant places. This creature has a position of command amongst colonies of Fungi and exhibits heightened intelligence to match.Winged Halberd-KnightMystical BeastsA winged Vila capable of flight. Records show that in the century after the Tsaritsa ascended the throne, the Vila went through many turbulent periods. Among them were fae who launched small-scale rebellions out of dissatisfaction with the Tsaritsa's policies toward the fae nobility. The rebellions were soon suppressed, but the fact that their leaders were descendants of the old Vila nobility once led to a major split within the Vila people.Winged Soarer KnightMystical BeastsA winged Vila capable of flight. It's said that the Vila were among the fae clans that followed the Belyi Tsar from the very beginning of his campaign to unify the frozen lands. Their ability to take brief flight gives them exceptional mobility, allowing them to scout enemy formations and carry out long-distance raids with ease. Most members of the Druzhna, the personal guard founded during the Belyi Tsar reign, were Vila.Xuanwen BeastMystical BeastsXuanwen Beasts, named for the dark patterns on their bodies, are fierce creatures that inhabit the mountains of Chenyu Vale. In the region's folklore, these beasts were the servants of an adeptus in ancient times, tasked with vanquishing evil and protecting the region. However, they devolved into brutal creatures after said adeptus passed away. These legends cannot be verified, and no one knows the true identity of this adeptus. This much is for sure, however — one should stay away from these aggressive creatures for one's safety. For over a thousand years, these beasts have lost a tremendous amount of territory that once belonged to them to relentless human encroachment. These days, they can only occasionally be spotted in the remote mountains of Chenyu Vale...Yumkasaur WhelpMystical BeastsA young Yumkasaurus with the ability to spit Flamegranate pectin hidden in their cheek pouches out, wrapping around distant objects. Their hold on pectin-coated objects isn't strong enough, nor is their sense of balance good enough to allow them to move freely through the air. Sometimes, they'll even fall over to one side just sitting on their tails. However, one day, they will grow into the form that can swing freely between the trees without a care.YumkasaurusMystical BeastsA Saurian with powerful hind legs and a fluffy tail, capable of spitting Flamegranate pectin hidden in their cheek pouches out, wrapping around distant objects. According to legend, the original Yumkasaurs were not at all like today, but much smaller, so small that they were difficult even to see. They could roam freely with the wind, cling to the bodies of the massive dragons, or gather in groups to move about like clouds. However, in order to maintain their form after their abilities degenerated, they had no choice but to assume their current shape.All-Devouring NarwhalEnemies of NoteA mysterious and gargantuan creature from another world.AzhdahaEnemies of NoteAn enormous dragon as ancient as the mountains themselves. In an age that has all but faded from memory, he stood shoulder to shoulder with one who ruled over a harbor of stone. But in the end, the two came into conflict, and the dragon was banished to a dark place deep underground. Over the long years of his imprisonment, his power has slowly dissipated. He has also become disfigured from the various kinds of erosion he has been subjected to. The faint rattling of this dragon lord's shackles and his deep, angry growl echo through the bowels of the mountains like memories of a bygone era.ChildeEnemies of Note"Childe" Tartaglia, Eleventh of the Fatui Harbingers. He draws power from the ominous Delusion he possesses and fights using martial arts that he learned in a land of darkness. He is a pure warrior with an insatiable lust for battle. Each bloody conflict, each life-and-death struggle is a delightful trial to him. People say that the young Childe is famed throughout the land for his battle prowess. But he has never taken big talk of this kind to heart. After all... "You shall ever be the eye of the storm, "And the clashing of steel shall ever accompany you. "The pitch-black memory of stepping into uttermost darkness, "Shall, at last, become the strength by which you will overturn this world."Guardian of Apep's OasisEnemies of NoteApep once walked through an ocean of fragrant grass, gigantic trees, and unimaginably long vines like a fish with its many offspring swimming through the sea. Finally, the grass, trees, and vines withered and turned to dust, while countless beings as minute as grains of gravel built a fragile kingdom upon Apep's land. Apep and its offspring let the sea of sand rage like boiling water and swept houses down as if they were falling leaves. Until the day when the new Lord of Sand reconciled with the king who lost their homeland, the dunes under the sun belonged to humanity, while the dragon's oasis remained in the hearts of the dragons. Apep shared the knowledge of evolution with its many offspring, because spreading knowledge ensures dissemination while the stagnation of hoarded wisdom courted only decay. Till the day the promise between it and the Lord of Sand was finally attained, with ultimate wisdom claimed. Henceforth, it reaped only sights of oblivion, of an endless calamity. Apep found itself swallowed alone amidst the scenery of the catastrophe. All the people, gods, dragons, beasts, birds, and fish. All memories, wisdom, words, and hatred were ground into colorless dust, and the last of the moonlight burned away into a rain of pale fire, falling on the barren land. ... Apep once deemed the bottom of the sea of sand to be its grave, not the palace of a dispossessed king. The poison of "wisdom" would soon free Apep from the hatred and anger festering within it over countless moons. Apep had grown weary of the colorless apocalypse. Then, finally, the young god and the golden Traveler let it recall once again, even though the verdant land it once ruled had been reduced to this gilded wasteland, even though Apep and its many offspring had grown twisted and wretched to secure their continued survival therein, Apep still treasured the sight and scenes of the oasis, sparkling in its heart.Il DottoreEnemies of NoteTo push his heretical experiments to their end, Dottore has severed the constraints of his corporeal form. Now, he has merged as one with the Irminsul that threads through all of Teyvat. This world inherently predates any natural order. Until it cast its gaze, the origin and terminus of all matter were indeterminate. Yet the weak, seeking to escape the crushing weight of freedom, would rather bow before the throne of "Certainty." Only those with the resolve to pierce the veil of mundane perception may earn the right to forge a "new world." That is the domain of "Possibility" — a perpetual and magnificent experiment that shall never reach its end. It's time to enliven this stagnant, unchanging reality... "How can you be certain that I am not capable of perfecting it?"La SignoraEnemies of NoteSignora, the Eighth of the Fatui Harbingers. Unlike other Fatui who use the authority granted by Delusions, her Delusion is meant to shackle a flame that will devour everything. As opposed to a weapon used to kill, it might be more fitting to consider this a tool of imprisonment. And it was the embers of that flame, which had accumulated over many long years, that would break through the frosty seal of the Delusion and apply a warped rouge upon her. The crimson dawn was reflected in her pupils, and at last, she unfolded her flaming wings and flew towards the light. "But that light is not the dawn, dear Rosalyne. That is a sea of flame that will consume everything." A voice spoke to her amidst the light. Yet it mattered not, for she knew in her heart that the flames had devoured her long ago.Lord of Eroded Primal FireEnemies of NoteA fell dragon, congealed from the power of pitch-black darkness.Lupus Boreas, Dominator of WolvesEnemies of NoteThe noblest and greatest of souls, who watches over the lupical of Wolvendom. When the wolfpack is imperiled, it will emerge in the form of a wolf and show forth its fangs and claws. The wolves of Wolvendom are frightening phantoms to the people of Mondstadt: A blurred shape flashing through the forest, a chilling howl in the indeterminate distance, the creeping sense of eyes constantly nailed to their backs... Humans rarely have the opportunity to lock their eyes with a wolf, for this is the law Lupus Boreas laid down for its race.Magatsu Mitake Narukami no MikotoEnemies of NoteThis is the form that the puppet that inherited the Raiden Shogun's authority takes when she is opposing those who threaten Eternity. As the Raiden Shogun's assistant in pursuing eternity, she has never doubted, never felt fear, never given anything less than her best, never been disturbed by idle thoughts. She once heard about how Ei had shouldered a similar duty when Makoto was also present, suffering much agonizing loss in the process. When the two shadows overlapped once more, however, she could only see the countless fine fractures in what should have been "her" eternal will. Since fate is destined for cyclicality, she must fulfill her promise and declare war on "her." Mine is the most supreme and noble form. Power over the realm has been vested within me, and I am the essence of all that is the "Raiden Shogun." "Naturally, I have also inherited the pain of Ei's countless losses and her will to attain Eternity. "Resolve, valor, love, hate... They will all twist in the river of time. "But the 'rules' will never change."Shouki no Kami, the ProdigalEnemies of NoteShouki no Kami, as an artificial divinity created using all the might of Sumeru's Six Darshans, has power that rivals that of true gods. But those of this world who call such a being a "false deity" misunderstand the true meaning of the word. Shouki no Kami now understands countless things and shoulders unassailable might, and may be said to surpass mortals. If gods must love mortals, then Shouki no Kami, who grants failure in equal measure to humanity, loves them also. If gods must watch over humanity, ... ... then Shouki no Kami, who has borne witness to infinite love, hatred, partings, grudges, and maddening anger — thus does he watch over mortals. "Too much happiness you have had!" "It has made you foolish. Arrogant. Horrifying in your greed." "Let this era end!" "Let the new god announce the defeat of the old." "Foolish mortal... There is yet time for you to kneel."StormterrorEnemies of NoteOne of The Four Winds of Mondstadt: Dvalin, the Dragon of the East. With the passage of long years and amid boundless darkness, even the purest gem will become dulled by dust, and even the noble dragon might be corrupted and cankered by hatred. But never forget that dust can be wiped away, and the power of doubt and poison can be shattered. "Fly freely in the sky. "Just like you did in those days when we met, when I walked upon this land and sang the songs of the wind, "And you soared on high, looking down on the world from above. "Today, the sky is no longer swept by wind and snow. The green grass grows all over the earth, and it is beautiful. "If you too could walk the earth and listen to the songs of shepherds and the scattered sound of wind chimes in the distance, if you could have tasted wine as sweet as honey, you would understand. "How wonderful it would have been if you were as I, witnessing your noble, beautiful form as you soared through the blue sky. "Then you would know that this sky and this earth are both things worth fighting for."The DoctorEnemies of NoteReviled far and wide as a heretic, The Doctor — Second of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers — has seized the authority of the three moons and now ascends the long steps toward the divine throne of the "new world." All should have belonged to us. But reason cast out all that exceeded its limits, leaving humanity blind to its true nature. Life and death bound us into mortal shells, shackling every spark of aspiration. Time and space closed in last of all, fencing the mind into meek obedience, so no one would dare imagine breaking free. From that point on, false gods governed the world, each one declaring their own truth as the sole, unassailable gospel — though none deserved the mantle they so loudly coveted. There is no inherent structure to life's flow — order was merely imposed upon it. Strip away every shackle laid across this world, and the essence of all things will at last come into view. And that revelation... is the first light of the new world. "How much longer will you continue to suffer this stagnant, obsolescent world?"The Game Before the GateEnemies of NoteA soldier-entity born into being through the skills of various members of the Hexenzirkel. Although their technological underpinnings are far from abstruse, and touch not upon the profound wisdom at the universe's core, yet as guards of the gate's final threshold, they are a metaphor in and of themselves. This world may be governed by rules, but for those who manage to cross its verge, such constraints no longer apply. The KnaveEnemies of NoteThe Knave, Fourth of the Fatui Harbingers.AlpacaAnimalsThese floofy, furry four-legged camelids are elegant and gentle, and get along very well with humans, just like good partners who understand one another... Although they look very different, this animal is indeed a distant relative of the Sumpter Beast, and is also of some relation to the Fluff-Fleece Goat. Good at carrying goods over long distances, they are a merchant's best friend. When it's time to rest, you can even snuggle up against them to enjoy a soft, sweet sleep... Generally speaking, alpacas grow fleece very fast. In order to prevent them from being knocked flat out by the hot climate, people have to trim the alpacas every once in a while. As fortune would have it, the wool made from their fleece is also a superb material for making cloth...Amateur Weasel ThiefAnimalsThieves that come and go like the wind, though they only do so out of pure instinct. No one knows which whimsical person it was who trained these animals to steal with such obsessive zeal. Weasel thieves will go around stealing and hoarding Mora — whether it be the change on traveling guests, adventurers' expenses, or even treasure from within ruins, none escape their sight. From the state of the purses on these Amateur Weasel Thieves, however, they seem to have only been able to grab some loose change left by travelers...Amber Hunting HoundAnimalsHumanity's best friend! These dogs have dark gold fur, and of Fontaine's hunting hounds their blood is the purest. Loyal, possessed of acute noses, and agile, these aid humans in chasing game and criminals alike. It is even said that they do well in the water, though few have ever witnessed them swimming — most nowadays take this saying to be a curious invention of The Steambird.Ancient Glazeback TurtleAnimalsA reptile with a thick shell encrusted with solid Phlogiston crystals. Similar to other turtles in Teyvat, but this species lives in Phlogiston-rich areas which give rise to numerous deposits of solid Phlogiston on its shell. Some specimens have been known to appear outside the volcano due to eruptions. After studying them, researchers believe that these turtles have evolved at a slower pace than their modern-day counterparts.Ancient Red-Mane BoarAnimalsAn ancient species of forest boar, larger in size and boasting a crimson mane. Unlike its counterparts in the outside world, this boar's fiery red coat is a result of exposure to Phlogiston. Its great size and aggression also distinguish it from the more common varieties...Bake-DanukiAnimalsA carefree tanuki that comes and goes without leaving any trace, and that knows mystical arts passed down only amongst their kindred. It has the ability to transform into other objects, including humans. Although they often tangle with a mysterious organization under the Shogunate, the tanuki are not a wicked lot and only tease humans for fun. There is but one recorded exception: years ago, the bake-danuki who guarded Chinju Forest started a battle due to some conflict between their leader Ioroi and a kitsune. In the end, most of the bake-danuki were sealed within stone statues.Black CatAnimalsAn agile and wise soul, endowed since birth with a well-maintained elegance and pride. These mysterious passers-by are clad from head to toe in black fur, and purr from the shadows that hide their forms, only to reveal two large, gleaming golden eyes amidst the gloom. To some scholars, black cats symbolize the study of mysteries, magic, and portents from afar, and are very popular as a result.Black-Back HoundAnimalsHumanity's best friend! They say that these are the descendants of the favored, specially-bred hunting hounds of Old Mondstadt's aristocracy. They now have their own fair share of sub-breeds throughout the seven nations. Though they have high ancestry, the Black-Back Hounds of today are known far and wide for being both dependable and approachable. Perhaps something similar may be said for the arrogant, domineering nobles of yesteryear being supplanted by the warm-hearted and humble Knights of Favonius today.Bluethunder WeaselAnimalsThese intelligent weasels live underground within the mining tunnels and caverns depths of The Chasm. Their fur has a unique blue sheen. Having long become used to life in the darkness, they now have excellent hearing and olfactory senses. Their jade-colored eyes and unusual fur have led miners to see them as an omen that gemstones are to be found nearby. However, there is no real connection between the two.Blunthorn RhinoAnimalsA distant relation of Natlan's Long-Necked Rhinos, though this claim may be hard to believe at first glance... Blunthorn Rhinos are almost entirely covered in hardened corneum strata, and the hardest section of this corneal spine can even react to kuuvahki. They are mostly gentle creatures, but if threatened, they will fight obstinately — and when that moment comes, their attackers will find that they are neither as ponderous nor as clumsy as they first appear.Boot WeaselAnimalsPrank-prone rascals with a slim and agile form. They are named Boot Weasels due to their four limbs, which are covered in dark-colored fur. These creatures are a bit more frightened and cautious than other weasel species, and their tiptoeing movements have only deepened the impression of them as "weasels in boots." As such, all sorts of strange legends circulate around Teyvat concerning these thieving little creatures.Brown DeerAnimalsThe Brown Deer is a creature with a reddish-brown body, but its fiery passion is only shown when wrestling with its own kind. Under most circumstances, this animal is peaceful and will not attack other creatures without good reason. The iconic antlers of the Brown Deer are a symbol of the individual's strength. Generally speaking, the larger the antlers of a male deer, the greater the power they contain and the more authority they have in the herd. And the people of Natlan, who live in harmony with the Brown Deer, will hang ornaments such as ribbons and firefly lamps from the antlers to make them still more magnificent...Cacaua GoatAnimalsThese gentle beasts can be found all over Teyvat and were among the earliest to be domesticated by humans. Contrary to what the name might suggest, Cacaua Goats do not give off a uniquely bitter odor. This unforgettable name originates from the hue of their wool, which closely resembles that of food and drink made from Cacahuatl. For traditional Natlan dyers, achieving a chocolate or xocoatl color is not an easy task, as the slightest mistake might result in a dirty-looking finish like rain-soaked mud. The wool of these robustly-built Cacaua Goats has a smooth texture and a clean, chocolatey tone, which is why they are so highly valued...Camelhorn DeerAnimalsA tall and gentle creature, with eyes that seem to see through all things. Found across Mondstadt's plains and woodland borders, it feeds on fresh leaves and fruit. As the seasons shift, it moves and migrates accordingly, though it always remains close to the lands it knows best. Light on its feet and keen of hearing, the Camelhorn Deer can detect danger carried on even the faintest breeze. For this reason, only experienced hunters who know how to conceal their presence and sound have any chance of approaching it unnoticed.CapybaraAnimalsThese herbivores, which often dwell close to the water, are famous for their steely, stoic "won't even twitch if lightning strikes right next to their toes" disposition. Tourists consider them to be the paragon of animal friends. Capybaras like to zone out while having a soak in the water, or sun themselves on the shore, and it's quite common for them to barely move for most of the day, as though not a single thing in the world could possibly perturb their calm demeanor and make them anxious. Despite their fluffy appearance, their hairs are actually quite hard and tough. If you pet them in the same direction as their coat of hair, it feels relatively smooth, but should you pet them in the opposite direction, you may end up with a scratched hand. Perhaps that is the reason even famished predators do not regard these completely harmless and quite defenseless little friends as prey...Chestnut GoatAnimalsThis goat appears no different from any other that lives in Teyvat — apart from its glowing markings and horns. So named for its soft, long chestnut-colored coat, it has two layers of hair, with the outer layer being long and waterproof, while the inner, milk-white layer is soft and fluffy, making it an ideal material for winter wear and woolen blankets. Long exposure to high-intensity kuuvahki environments has caused both its horns and the markings on its body to glow faintly.Chestnut Hunting HoundAnimalsHumanity's best friend! This canine breed sports three-colored fur, a result of many bloodlines mixing. Specimens of this species are strong and more intelligent than most, and thus are often kept as pets or work dogs. It is said, however, that Chestnut Hunting Hounds will show a lazier, more gluttonous side to themselves when not given orders by their master. Most notably, they never refuse offers of food, resulting in upset stomachs and owners alike.Chic BadgerAnimalsNamed for the two long stretches of mane that extend from their shoulders, that emit a soft glow when influenced by kuuvahki, as if this creature were cowled in moonlight. Though Chic Badgers look cute as they roll around on the ground, they are exceptional hunters. Stunningly quick while sprinting, anything that angers them will have little time to make its escape. They have developed the habit of storing food to last the winter season, but they coat said food in scent gland secretions to prevent the theft of their hard-earned stash. As such, if anyone were to claim that they "survived by eating a Chic Badger's stash," they are either a liar or an entity who stands high atop the food chain — in force of will, certainly, if in nothing else...Crimson FoxAnimalsA sly animal as elusive as a fairy that often appears in folk stories, symbolizing unusual cunning and ancient memories. A small fox that hides in amongst the trees and thick grass, prudently avoiding the dangerous gaze and arrows of hunters. Folk legends across Teyvat all contain stories of foxes that have lived for many years and gathered a great deal of wisdom, and even stories of foxes turning into human form. The popular children's fable "The Fox in the Dandelion Sea" tells just such a tale.Desert FoxAnimalsA sly animal as elusive as a fairy that often appears in folk stories, symbolizing unusual cunning and ancient memories. These animals call the vast desert home and are smaller than most of their kin, which is possibly how they evaded the ancient calamities. Their long ears are an adaptation that helps them better live in their hot and dry desert home.Desert Sumpter BeastAnimalsSumpter Beasts are friends of humanity. Gentle by nature, they serve as important tools of production and transport. Sumpter Beasts can adapt to various different natural environments. Long before the forest merchants ever noticed them, these hardworking animals were already the much-relied-upon domesticated beasts of the desert peoples.Dusky GoatAnimalsThis goat appears no different from any other that lives in Teyvat — apart from its glowing markings and horns. Its coat is a lighter shade than that of the Chestnut Goat, but it, too, has two layers of hair, with the outer layer being long and waterproof, while the inner, milk-white layer is soft and fluffy, making it an ideal material for winter wear and woolen blankets. Long exposure to high-intensity kuuvahki environments has caused both its horns and the markings on its body to glow faintly.Fluff-Fleece GoatAnimalsThese gentle beasts can be found all over Teyvat and were among the earliest livestock tamed by humans. Fluff-Fleece Goat, as their name indicates, have soft and warm fur that is used to weave clothing. Humans also love them for their delicious milk. In the distant past, these beasts, often called "Soft-Furs," played an important role in the ceremonial affairs of the region's ancestral people, but that's a story for another time.FluffahogAnimalsBeasts covered from head to toe in spikes save for their soft bellies. The Fluffahog is a gentle soul that enjoys sleeping. Indeed, they are skilled at making hidden nests using plants and leaves, so that they can have sweet dreams even in the winter cold. If their nests are discovered, they will curl into a ball, presenting their wall of tough spikes to the world, as though meaning to repel all threats this way. In Snezhnayan folk stories, the Fluffahog is the smartest amongst animals, knowing formulae for wondrous herbal remedies, comprehending the secrets to stemming the tides of weakening age, even knowing how to open a lock that has no key.Flying SerpentAnimalsA reptile with a limited ability to hover. Flying serpents do not truly possess the ability to fly; their ability to hover seems to derive from their bird-like hollow bones and the sparkle of Anemo that imbues them with a subtle influence over the wind. The desert is a far way from the nation of Anemo, but its lands are still ever-graced by gales intent on eroding everything. Everything, from cities to history, will eventually be razed to sand grains by the winnowing currents that drift over the Great Red Sand. Only creatures such as the flying serpents, which have learned to live with the wind, can continue to survive in the desert long after all has been reduced to dust.Flying SquirrelAnimalsSmall animals with a unique body structure, they can spread their limbs and use their tough wing membranes to glide on the air currents when jumping from a height, reaching places that are difficult for other terrestrial animals to reach... The techniques Flying Squirrels use to get around are not dissimilar from those used by wind gliders. A legend holds that once, several adventurers who visited Natlan attempted to conduct in-depth research on Flying Squirrels, but the little guys often let their pride run loose while they were riding the wind. It was thus quite difficult to keep up with them, let alone observe their movements in any great detail. Since then, the title of "Flying Squirrel Level" has been circulated via the Adventurers' Guild's Natlan branch, which is used to describe those supreme masters who have perfected the art of using wind gliders to the point that they "glide as agilely as a Flying Squirrel."Forest BoarAnimalsOne of the most energetic residents in Teyvat, boars are found active throughout the wild. This wild animal is characterized by rapid reproduction and a stubborn personality. Able to survive in various conditions, it can be encountered in all sorts of forests and wild terrain. Forest Boar meat is tasty and chewy, making it a prime ingredient for many dishes. In addition, Forest Boars are even central characters in many legends told across Teyvat. The Musk family ecologists have observed some hilichurl tribes attempting to domesticate Forest Boars, presumably hoping to train them as riding animals.Forest PigletAnimalsForest-Patrol HoundAnimalsHumanity's best friend! These were first domesticated to be the partners of hunters in the mountains and forests, but even amid insipid and bustling city life, they can still serve as the guardians of house and home. This canine breed is docile but sharp and is particularly good with kids.FuzzbadgerAnimalsClose kin of the Chic Badgers, these animals make their dwelling in the Snezhnayan interior. Fuzzbadgers are clad in long, thick, and soft fur, allowing them to travel as they please, even in the coldest of climes. Despite their fluffy appearance, they possess a fierce temperament and never back down, even when facing massive foes. Such is the law of survival on the snowy plains: Do not tread upon the territory of a Fuzzbadger carelessly, lest they show their claws and swiftly make an example of any trespassers.Gentleman PoodleAnimalsHumanity's best friend! These Fontainian pet dogs have had their fur meticulously groomed and are adorned with custom-made apparel. These dogs have a gentlemanly temperament and also carry with them a multifunctional tool that has a resemblance to a cane. It is said that this breed is extremely intelligent and its sensitivity to fragrances far surpasses other dog breeds. At the same time, it also has a keen sense of aesthetics, allowing it to step into the role of a consultant, providing valuable advice regarding scents, apparel, and the household's interior ensemble. This allows their owner to face life with a calm and regal attitude, thus granting these dogs a good reputation as "elegant guides."Glittergray Hunting HoundAnimalsHumanity's best friend! Bearing a fur of ashen grey, this type of dog is the closest to humans among the midlander hunting breeds. They possess prodigious stamina, allowing them to stay active for long periods in the wilderness. It's only a pity that their beautiful fur cannot endure being dirtied. Owners of this breed often spend vast amounts of time bathing them.Golden Weasel ThiefAnimalsThieves that come and go like the wind, though they only do so out of pure instinct. The Golden Weasel Thief is a master thief, the most adept and the rarest of all the weasel thieves. Supposedly, the weasel thief was born when one Treasure Hoarder had the unusual idea to train up wild weasels as formal members of the organization. No formal records exist, however, so the truth of this theory cannot be known. Regardless, given the size of a weasel thief's backpack, one highly doubts that they are a particularly lucrative source of wealth for the Treasure Hoarders.Gray Snow CatAnimalsAn agile and wise soul, endowed since birth with a well-maintained elegance and pride. "Mommy, look, that kitty looks like a dirty wee ball of snow!" This mischievous cat's name did indeed originate from a young child's faux-pas. Gray Snow Cats are very playful creatures, and any time or place can become a war-zone for their frolicking — much to the chagrin of their owners, who must always then give them baths.Great Snowboar KingAnimalsAmidst the snow and ice dwells an ancient king waiting to be awakened by its ice-entombed brethren. In the distant past beyond memory, a certain legend circulated among hunters out in the wild: when the land sealed by ice returns to life and when an uninvited guest disturbs the deep, frozen silence, the lord and leader of the snowboars unto greatness will awaken from slumber, shake off the ice that shackles it, and bring judgment upon those disrespectful interlopers.Guard PoodleAnimalsHumanity's best friend! These Fontainian pet dogs have had their fur meticulously groomed and are adorned with custom-made apparel. Parts of their body are guarded by metallic protections, granting them a bearing akin to soldiers. To most of your typical animals or even the common bandit, this dog is as intimidating as a human bodyguard. As such, some rich merchants have taken a special interest in owning this breed of pet, adding both novelty and security to their lives.Hoarder Weasel ThiefAnimalsThieves that come and go like the wind, though they only do so out of pure instinct. Weasel Thieves with a luxurious purse on their backs. As elders among their kind, their ability to find treasure and avoid pursuit is even greater. Sometimes, they will even teach tricks of the trade to younger weasel thieves. As more experienced thieves, the amount of Mora they have collected is also greater. That said, you've plundered their purses before, and they're not all that loaded either...Jade-Eyed CatAnimalsAn agile and wise soul, endowed since birth with a well-maintained elegance and pride. A grimalkin with emerald-green eyes, it walks upon roof beams at night with great grace. But do not let their noble affectations fool you — these little thieves are adept at stealing fresh fish from the rears of kitchens and merchant stands.Jadestone TurtleAnimalsA reptile with a thick shell. Like their counterparts all across Teyvat, they have a gentle nature and move slowly. Maybe they are even too gentle and slow to notice that mountain rocks have begun to accumulate on their shells in Geo-rich areas. Legend has it that in the distant past, the early residents of Chenyu Vale saw a giant turtle that was more majestic than the mountains combined, which they named the Gui. The authenticity of such tales cannot be verified, but the modern Jadestone Turtles can still grow into spectacular giants. Sometimes, however, the Geo accumulated on their shells causes them an unbearable itch. If someone could kindly clean their shells and remove the calcified jade, they would surely be pleased...KitsuneAnimalsA sly, prideful creature that has incredible intelligence and a long-lasting memory — or so the urban legends say. They pay no attention when someone approaches, seemingly used to living alongside mankind. The kitsune have a long history in Inazuman culture. Some legends say that they were family to the Kitsune Saiguu in ages past. After she disappeared, the mightier Sky Kitsune and Earth Kitsune turned into stone statues to await her return. As their kind slowly dwindled, the Kitsune lost their mystical might, and now no longer speak.Lady PoodleAnimalsHumanity's best friend! These Fontainian pet dogs have had their fur meticulously groomed and are adorned with custom-made apparel. This type of dog bears the disposition of a lady. Young women who are interested in owning pets have a tendency to take a special interest in this breed, often bringing them to tea parties. Rumor has it that someone has bought special-made clothes for them in bulk from the Chioriya Boutique. As such, certain keen merchants have already taken these developments into account to develop future related businesses...Leisurely OtterAnimalsA unique lifeform that lives in the water. Rumor has it that this creature has a deep phylogenetic relationship with the weasels that can be seen quite commonly on land. Its temperament is meek and indolent, and the rhythm of its existence is unhurried, bearing no sense of stress within its being. When people encounter these languid otters, they often find these creatures floating with their backs facing the water, bringing both their paws together as a gesture of greeting. However, beneath their leisurely facade, they also possess a cleverness in their living, bearing enough intellect to use reefs to open up shellfish or mollusks in hopes of extracting delicious sustenance. Sometimes, after finding themselves stuffed from a massive meal, they won't need to forage for quite some time, allowing them to condense their eating habits into something best described as "stuff yourself lots now and rest lots more later."Long-Necked RhinoAnimalsA beast with a massive body and a particularly long, slender neck, it is like a "walking tree," and found only in Natlan. People arriving in Natlan for the first time often think the Long-Necked Rhino is also a type of Saurian, but that is not the case at all. It's just big. In terms of size alone, there aren't many animals in any corner of Teyvat that can compare with it. Thanks to its overwhelming advantage in size and weight, it can face down predators without even blinking. All it needs to do is lift a leg and take a single step, and it can stun the fiercest of beasts into a hasty retreat. Perhaps this is another reason for the Long-Necked Rhino's generally slow and unhurried temperament...Masked WeaselAnimalsAn agile, mischievous little prankster. Its dark face gives the impression of a mask-wearing bandit, but in truth these creatures are a gentle and friendly sort, and will rarely steal from human dwellings. Even so, the good-natured Masked Weasels will sometimes be taken advantage of by people of less good intent, using these creatures to satisfy their selfish desires for ill-gotten gain.MorozhoundAnimalsHumanity's best friend! Morozhounds have stunning endurance and gentle personalities. And so, humans fitted them with harnesses and had them pull sleds, forming the first transport teams on the snowy plains. Today, dog-pulled sleds have slowly become more of a tourist attraction in small border towns, with a tiny minority who still respect sledding as a traditional competitive sport. Still, the people of the snowfields continue to regard Morozhounds as the closest of companions.Northland CatAnimalsAn agile and wise soul, endowed since birth with a well-maintained elegance and pride. This graceful cat has a base coat of gray-white fur that is streaked with black. It is native to the distant far north and is well known for its gentle character and companionable nature.Northland HoundAnimalsHumanity's best friend! These originate from a canine species from the far north and have a body of thick gray-white fur. They are quite hardy against the cold and are of an honest and lively character. It is highly inadvisable to leave them alone in a room with a squirrel.Pale-Furred WolfAnimalsHunters of the wild plains and forests, as solemn and noble as the frozen tundra of the North. Unlike most other beasts, they value the advantages of living in a pack over solitary strength. They rarely initiate attacks, even when humans trespass on their territory. Instead, they first issue extended howls as an ominous caution to the strayed. Legend has it that the wolves seldom engage with humans due to the ancient rules decreed by their Wolf King, and consequently, records and research concerning them remain scarce. Yet, judging from the folk tales passed down across Teyvat, these wolves are believed to be rather tame creatures. In even older stories, the wolves that roam the land are descendants of the Northwind, guided across the wilderness by the Wolf King, a being once equal in stature to the gods of this world. Though the Wolf King has long passed on, its descendants — the wolves of today — continue their silent watch through the cold night, until the pale morning star rises once more.PolyarbearAnimalsAnimals that can survive even extreme cold, and that boast large bodies and thick fur. Despite their size, Polyarbears are actually quite agile, being able to leap between ice floes and pursue their prey without making a sound, making them the best hunters in the tundra. Skilled in combat, the Polyarbear is no tame beast, and will not submit to either beast or man easily. As such, they are regarded in some regions of Snezhnaya as a symbol of strength.Red-Tailed WeaselAnimalsPrank-prone rascals with a slim and agile form. These weasels are red from head to toe and are highly proficient in hunting bugs and lizards. Red-Tailed Weasels are very visible, but many predators who fear fire keep their distance due to the similarity between the weasels' coloration and the flames of Pyro.Rimehorn DeerAnimalsA large but gentle animal with eyes that seem to perceive all things. There was once a poet who, upon seeing a Rimehorn Deer, left these words to posterity: "Its form is a silent shadow left to us as if by ancient gods. Its fur, no mortal hide, but woven as a veil about it by the moon..." The Frostmoon Scions believe that Rimehorn Deer have intelligence, that they can guide lost people and heal wounds. As such, they do not hunt or disturb them. It is said that if the one who approaches them has a good heart, they will quietly and briefly cast their gaze upon the oncomer, as though honoring some sort of ancient agreement.Rishboland TigerAnimalsA beast that resides in the woods. The king of the jungle. It regards the entire woodland realm as its territory, and will often survey its domain even as a true king might. Any intruder shall be set upon with extreme prejudice. It has almost exaggerated amount of fluff on its temple, and research indicates that this allows it to measure distances. It is said that the forests once played host to a true "tiger," a divine beast that defended the woods. Upon its death, these creatures that resemble cats far more became the successors to its mighty name.SapphireAnimalsAn agile and wise soul, endowed since birth with a well-maintained elegance and pride. These pure white kitty cats are named and famed for their shining sapphire-blue eyes. But no matter how lovely Sapphires may be, they also have terrible tempers. One must take care to have some fish jerky — and some balm for superficial cuts — handy when hanging out with them.ScorpionAnimalsLarge arthropods that live beneath the sandstone that specialize in using their venom to hunt. Due to their ability to secrete highly toxic fluids when under attack, they have long been much sought-after by plotters and alchemists alike, with these fluids becoming common ingredients in poison-making. Indeed, human hearts are yet more dangerous than venomous scorpions.SeverelkAnimalsTall and tame animals with a pair of eyes that seem to see through all things. The Severelk living on the snowy plains have thick fur and sturdy horns, yet their feet are light and fleet, and their sense of smell is so keen that they can forage for food even in the thickest snow, and they flee pursuit from predators swiftly. In old Snezhanyan fairy tales, Severelk are gentle and winsome, and will enter the dreams of children to bring them the gift that is "growing up well."Shaggy Sumpter BeastAnimalsSumpter Beasts are friends of humanity. These gentle-hearted creatures are indispensable elements of production and transportation. In Sumeru, your wealth is symbolized by the number of Sumpter Beasts you own. Large merchant caravans and Eremites usually come with very sizable trains of Sumpter Beasts indeed, and this allows them to carry ample supplies and goods across both desert and forest alike.Sheriff CatAnimalsAn agile and wise soul, endowed since birth with a well-maintained elegance and pride. These cats are conscientious and cautious, elite hunters amongst their kind. Due to humans often delegating the vital task of defense against vermin to them, they are sometimes also called "watch-leaders." And though cats are free animals by nature, these "watch-leaders" take their rat-catching duties very seriously. In Liyue, such cats are fondly known as "Catcher-General Kitty," so much so that children's books and toys of this sort are quite popular amongst kids.ShibaAnimalsHumanity's best friend! Legend has it that the Inazuma Shogun once greatly adored this canine breed, and they spread across the once-booming trade routes to become one of the most well-loved pets in the seven nations. Gentle, loyal, and intelligent, they are especially good at guard duty and being companions. Some say that there are still mysterious ninjas in Inazuma who train these dogs to become "ninja dogs."ShroomboarAnimalsA forest boar that dwells in the rainforest. This creature has developed a certain marvelous symbiosis with the Shroom-Kin. According to researchers' studies, Shroomboars rely on the parasitic mushrooms perched on them for natural camouflage, which allows them to evade predators and survive in the jungles. However, this has also made it popular on the dinner table as naturally-occurring pre-made food.ShroomboarAnimalsSnow FoxAnimalsA sly animal as elusive as a fairy that often appears in folk stories, symbolizing unusual cunning and ancient memories. Its coat of thick, white fur helps conceal it amongst the snow. Living in harsh environments has sharpened both its wits and sense of smell.Snow WeaselAnimalsPrank-prone rascals with a slim and agile form. Weasels that come and go as they please, hiding within holes in the snowy plains. They usually hunt bugs and lizards, but they are also unafraid of animals slightly larger than themselves. Due to their cute appearance, people sometimes try to catch weasels and take them as pets, but they are freedom-loving creatures by nature and do not easily consign themselves to the fate of being confined in warm human homes.SnowboarAnimalsA forest boar that makes its home in cold climates, with thicker fur than its warmer climate cousins. According to scientists, although the cold, frosty conditions of its habitat required a stubborn ability to survive, it also provided an environment without any natural predators, allowing Snowboars to multiply in number unhindered. Legends say that Snowboars can live for an incredibly long time, even allowing it to grow abnormally large during such a long battle for survival. People believed this species of boar to have gone extinct long ago, but as adventurers explore deeper into Dragonspine, they seem to have made a new ecological discovery...SpinocrocodileAnimalsAn ancient life form that dwells in the lake swamp. Ferocious by nature, it will attack from underwater. Its evolutionary history in this land precedes even the advent of Sumeru's forest. In the age when gods with beast's faces still had dominion over the world, these creatures were worshiped as gods by humans. Even today, the desert dwellers see their spiny red crowns as relics of ancient deities.SquirrelAnimalsA small animal with a big, fluffy tail that is often seen in the wilderness. Squirrels are the most adept rodents at gathering and storing food, with a special liking for pinecones.Tent TortoiseAnimalsA reptile with a thick carapace. A gentle-tempered, slow-moving species. Because of its longevity, it is deemed by some people as a symbol of auspiciousness and wisdom. Due to its excessively gentle temper and slow motion, it is also used as a metaphor to insult people. Whatever the case, the Tent Tortoise is content to peacefully walk the lands. Human languages bear no meaningful connotations whatsoever to such a creature.Tiger-Striped CatAnimalsAn agile and wise soul, endowed since birth with a well-maintained elegance and pride. This cat is intelligent and combative, and has quite the aura of prestige to it. These cats are excellent at earning the favor of humans and are often able to get the upper hand over its kin when it comes to gathering food. As such, they tend to get fat quite quickly, though this does not diminish their cuteness in human eyes at all.White Sumpter BeastAnimalsThese white-furred quadrupeds are distant relatives of Sumeru's Sumpter Beasts. The White Sumpter Beasts are friendly to humans and resistant to the cold by nature, and they were once the most important mode of transport across the frozen fields. Even today, they remain good helpers to the Snezhnayan traveling merchant.Ancient Firewalker SpoonbillBirdsA bird capable of freely swimming through liquid Phlogiston. Having lived in volcanoes, its habits and appearance differ from Spoonbills found in the outside world. Some scholars posit that the Ancient Firewalker Spoonbill is to the Blue Mountain Spoonbill what the Flowfire Bird is to the Flowcurrent Bird. Others believe the Ancient Firewalker Spoonbill predates them all... If true, then it would seem that the Spoonbill species has always been of this size since time immemorial.Ancient Scarlet-Plume FinchBirdsAn ancient species of finch, with feathers that blaze like fire. Though no conclusive evidence exists, passionate finch researchers have long speculated that these birds, in ancient times, once boasted longer plumage and larger bodies. This isolated species may serve as proof of their theories.Azure CraneBirdsA graceful bird with broad wings and slender legs. Across Teyvat, the long-legged crane carries different meanings in different cultures — good luck, elegance, and gentlemanly charm are all reflected in this graceful bird. The poets of Liyue even use the term "gentleman" to describe this tall and dignified bird.Black King PigeonBirdsA common avian species in Teyvat. Plump and meaty, but can also be trained to deliver messages. A relatively common pigeon that takes its name from its black-colored head. It is braver and more prone to confrontation than other birds in the pigeon family, making it easier to catch. Its meat is dense and flavorful, making it well-suited to roasting.Blue Mountain SpoonbillBirdsA waterfowl with delicate blue feathers that often makes a quacking sound. Legend has it that the feathers of the Blue Mountain Spoonbill could be used to make dyes, and of those, the quality of the dyes thus made from the plumage and tail feathers were astonishing, making them priceless at the time. The ancients of Natlan had to perform marvelous dances for the leader of the Blue Mountain Spoonbills, such that the entire flock would nod and allow them to take a single feather from the plumage and tail of each Blue Mountain Spoonbill. As such, the dancers often gathered together to learn from and compete with each other, which was one of the earliest forms of Natlan's "dance battling"...Bluecrown FinchBirdsA small songbird commonly found in Fontaine that sings pleasant melodies. It is said that Bluecrown Finches are very sensitive to the outside world, willing to abandon their nest and flee at the slightest whiff of trouble. As such, folklore describes these timid finches as portents of disaster, for when they begin to hurriedly flee, that means ruination must not be too far behind.Brightcrown PigeonBirdsA common avian species in Teyvat. Plump and meaty, but can also be trained to deliver messages. An ordinary pigeon that takes its name from its glaze-like glossy neck. Because it is such a common sight, few take much note of its gorgeous plumage.Brownwing FalconBirdsA sharp-eyed and proud falcon. It circles the skies at high altitude where the air is cold, waiting for the moment to swoop down and strike the squirrels and small birds hiding in the grass and trees. Hunters say that just a small amount of training can turn this bird of prey into a formidable hunting companion.Burgundy UmbrellafinchBirdsA small, round bird that is a distant relative to Fontainian Finches. The name Umbrellafinch comes from the mushroom-parasol like, unique-looking feathered crest they possess. Research indicates that the Burgundy Umbrellafinches are poor fliers and find it hard to evade various predators. They, however, can use their burgundy feathers to disguise themselves as some manner of plant or rock and evade their hunters in the forest.Cinderneck StorkBirdsA bird with a notably graceful form. Its golden-gray feathers accentuate its slender, elegant silhouette. With its exceptional attunement to kuuvahki, the Cinderneck Stork can stalk and strike its prey efficiently, even in the waters of its marshland home. However, beneath its elegant demeanor hides a strong territorial streak. First-time visitors to the marshes often misinterpret a Cinderneck Stork's warning posture as a dance, leading to unintended confrontations.Crimson FinchBirdsA chirpy little bird, found in nooks and crannies all over Teyvat. This bird sports bright-red feathers, helping it to put on a dazzling show when mating season comes around. Unfortunately, this same bright plumage also makes it an easy target for hunters. The dainty little Crimson Finch is one of the main food sources for carnivorous animals in Teyvat.Crimsonflank PigeonBirdsA common avian species in Teyvat. Plump and meaty, but can also be trained to deliver messages. This type of pigeon is mostly active in mountainous regions. It sports the colors of the mountain rocks and the red earth on its feathers, giving it a graceful and distinguished appearance.CrowBirdsA black colored avian. The black on its feathers are darker than the long nights of Teyvat. When many of them circle in the sky, they can create the illusion of a solar eclipse. Some locals consider them inauspicious, while others consider them a symbol of good fortune. As the saying goes, that's how traditions work. Rumors abound among adventurers from various nations concerning a giant talking crow raised by a young female investigator from Mondstadt...Crowned EagleBirdsA sharp-eyed eagle whose noble crown further enhances its regal bearing. The Crowned Eagle excels at circling high above its prey, and due to its strong build and wide wingspan, its dive attacks are particularly lethal. A faint glow ripples across the Crowned Eagle's feathers due to the influence of kuuvahki. It is a creature that is fiercely proud of its crest — whether it is confronting a rival or resting among its kin, its tall, eminent crown feathers shift with its mood, as though it is quietly declaring its lofty nature.Darkwing GooseBirdsA large bird that lives in ponds or lakes. A close relative of Snow-Wing Geese. Due to the Darkwing Geese bearing wings of pitch black, they were once thought of as Snow-Wing Geese that have been cursed. Due to such superstitions, the Darkwing Geese were regarded by a minority of Fontainians as omens of abnormality and uncertain calamities. With the changing of the times, people began to seek new and fresher expressions of art. Hence, there came an increased number of works portraying the Darkwing Geese in a more positive light. In Fontaine's artistic circles, the term "Darkwing Goose" has been used to describe unexpected phenomena and individuals who were ill-regarded at the inception, but proved to astonish with the passing of time.Dualblaze Longplume IbisBirdsA majestic bird with slender wings. The Dualblaze Longplume Ibis does not submerge itself to capture fish like most waterfowl. Rather, it prefers to hover in the air for long periods of time before locking onto its target and diving down, seizing its prey in one highly agile move. They have large throat pouches that can emit a two-colored glow, hence the name "Dualblaze Longplume Ibis." This pouch was originally meant to help store food over long distances, but during courtship season, it becomes a tool with which to secure bragging rights and jockey for dominance — laying aside their majesty, they puff up these sacs to compare brightness, color, and size. It seems humans are not the only species that care about whether their spouses have fat wallets.Dusk BirdBirdsA bird that lives in the jungles of Sumeru. Its vivid colors make it much-beloved. After being domesticated, it can be used as a courier for messages. It is said that the Dusk Bird once possessed significant intellect and could learn human speech, even comprehending the written word.Emerald DuckBirdsA quacking waterfowl. It lives around the rivers, lakes, and wetlands of Teyvat. This wild duck with brilliant green feathers adorning its head and neck is especially sensitive to changes in the wind. It enjoys frolicking in areas of warm water.Emerald FinchBirdsA chirpy little bird, found in nooks and crannies all over Teyvat. This finch has feathers the color of blue-green gemstones and was, in fact, the very first bird in history to be used by miners as a "caged finch." The reason was that its health status can be easily determined from how glossy its feathers are. As it happens, miners still take finches into the mines with them to this day, though they are no longer particular about the color of the plumage.Flatcrest FulmarBirdsA large sea bird that dwells in Fontaine. This bird earned the name Flatcrest Fulmar for its straight and white feathered crest. As a kind of bird that preys on fish, the Flatcrest Fulmar is extremely adept at tracking shoals of fish. Therefore, as some documents describe, seasoned fishers will not drive away the Flatcrest Fulmars that hunt near their ships, choosing instead to coexist with them.Flowcurrent BirdBirdsA peculiar bird that can walk on two feet yet cannot spread its wings to fly. Lively and friendly, they are often found in habitats close to water in groups, or floating on their backs in the water without a care in the world. Flowcurrent Birds are shaped like a thin-necked bottle, swaying unsteadily as they walk, its wings fluttering clumsily. Due to their relative friendliness towards all other creatures, their lack of aggression even when angry, and the fact that even adult Flowcurrent Birds are no taller or heavier than a human child, the People of the Springs are quite happy to let their children play with them...Flowfire BirdBirdsA peculiar bird that can walk on two feet yet cannot spread its wings to fly. Lively and friendly, they are only found in specific areas, such as underground caves. The Flowcurrent Bird subspecies known as Flowfire Birds love high temperatures and have feathers that can withstand the high temperatures of burning liquid phlogiston. To them, a pool of magma that would be dangerous to other creatures is like a hot bath at just the right temperature. Perhaps the reason that other areas of Natlan seem a bit too cold to this creature is because it is used to the heat of liquid phlogiston. Should it accidentally find itself outside of its preferred caves, Flowfire Birds might even search far and wide for the campfires of adventurers to stay warm...Golden FinchBirdsA chirpy little bird, found in nooks and crannies all over Teyvat. This fluffy, golden finch looks stunning in the sunlight. Some children like to catch Golden Finches and take them home as pets, but they struggle to adapt to the rowdy living environments of human beings. Consequently, they tend to find an opportunity to fly back off into the wild before long.Graywing PigeonBirdsA common avian species in Teyvat. Plump and meaty, but can also be trained to deliver messages. An ordinary pigeon that takes its name from its gray feathers. This pigeon's feathers become gradually greener along the neck, but unfortunately, it is such a common sight that its gorgeous plumage is now taken entirely for granted by most people.Halberd-Crest BirdBirdsA medium-sized bird that can be found in Natlan. Its huge crest looks like the blade of a halberd, and is an excellent deterrent. Even the fiercest of monsters think twice before trying to hunt them... It is said that the crests of adult Halberd-Crest Birds are as heavy as a one-handed sword, and their bones are quite sturdy. This even allows their crests to penetrate thin, light shields when they charge at full speed. Some warriors of the Collective of Plenty have taken note of this, and specifically seek out wild Halberd-Crest Birds to see "whose head is harder," attempting to temper their own bodies through such competitions until they become as strong as steel...Lapis GledeBirdsA sharp-eyed and proud glede. A bird of prey that nests in the treetops among the lofty mountain peaks. Legend holds that this bird forever roams the clouds, never setting food on land to nest, but this is a mere product of ignorant fantasy on the one hand and fanciful imagination on the other. Even the Lapis Glede must fight to eat its fill and protect its young.Magenta Fantail PigeonBirdsThe Magenta Fantail Pigeon are close relatives of Pigeons. They are graceful in appearance, and though they can be used to send messages after being trained, few people use them as messengers. This type of bird possesses carmine feathers and a fan-shaped tail. The shape of their tail feathers strikingly resembles a red-colored heart, which thus caused them to be regarded as heralds of love by poets. In actuality, the bird's red patterns and crimson tail are used to scare off their natural enemies, and have nothing to do with matters of courtship.NochhornowlBirdsBirds that make Snezhnaya their home. They have a full-body covering of feathers that evoke the night sky, and their habit of hunting after sunset has earned them their name. As the most agile hunters to stalk the tundra, the Nochhornowl is skilled at the arts of disguise, observation, and rapid pursuit. Many hunters see them as a symbol of wisdom, believing them to have spirits and giving them due respect. In return, these owls sometimes guide hunters, sending them messages from the forest depths.PuffinBirdsA small bird with an orange beak and flippers, patterned as though dressed in a black and white suit. This variety of bird mostly dwells on island cliffs and coastal areas, building nests by digging holes or using natural clefts and crevices in rock. Don't be fooled by the way it staggers clumsily about on foot. When it takes flight, those strong wings are sure to surprise!Red FlamingoBirdsA noble and elegant bird, with a pair of broad wings and long, slender legs. This species of bird was once mistaken for a relative of Qucusaurs due to their distinctive body shapes and coloration. It was not until a number of knowledgeable people learned how to get close to them and studied them in detail that their true nature was understood. This is the reason behind the Red Flamingo's nickname, the "Toothless Saurians." The story of this misunderstanding was chronicled by the Flower-Feather Clan, and has become a source of inspiration for many a song...Red VultureBirdsThis large bird consumes remains, and its red feathers often seem a little sparse under the sunlight. These members of the eagle family are not actually native to the desert, instead appearing in the desert after the disappearance of the ancient civilization ruled by King Deshret. They have also come to be seen as harbingers of death or disaster by some migrants from the desert due to their unique living habits.Red-Bellied PloverBirdsSmall Snezhnayan flying birds named for their feathers. Red-Bellied Plovers occasionally call in slow, gentle, and even slightly mournful voices. As such, poets have written of them as singing about someone's tragedies. Of course, these are just romantic interpolations by humans. Red-Bellied Plovers are an innocent, even naive sort, agile in flight, and tough to boot. Forests, fruit orchards, and the water's edge can all serve as their habitats. And for this Plover species, there is likely no more critical activity in life than foraging.Redbill PelicanBirdsThese birds that live in open waters are known for their crimson beaks and beautiful feathers. Pelicans are great at catching fish, and fisherfolk in Qiaoying Village still train these keen-eyed birds to help them catch fish today. Some veterans even claim that a well-trained pelican is better than ten clumsy apprentices. If nothing else, pelicans never scare away nearby fish by falling overboard, do they...Redcrown FinchBirdsA small songbird commonly found in Fontaine that sings pleasant melodies. However, despite their good-natured and adorable facade, the Redcrown Finches are extremely combative, sometimes actively and rashly attacking other birds in their vicinity. But while young and bare of feathers upon their crest, these birds are confused and ignorant, hollow of any bellicosity. As such, in folklore, the feathered crests of the Redcrown Finches are a sign of courage, for only finches that have grown the feathers upon their crest can be seen as warriors that "dare to defy fate itself."Sacred IbisBirdsA noble bird that has broad wings and sleek legs. It lives near desert oases, and it was once widely worshipped as a symbol of the divine. The ancient legends of the desert migrants say that these beings are the guardians of lost shrines and that they have the sacred power to deflect calamity.Scarletbeak DuckBirdsA quacking waterfowl. It lives around the rivers, lakes, and wetlands of Teyvat. This duck with white feathers and a scarlet beak is quite common, as well as quite delicious...Silkwhite FalconBirdsA sharp-eyed and proud falcon. A fragile creature, yet one that defiantly braves the boundless snowscape. Its frost-covered feathers glisten like glaciers. An ancient legend holds that the people of a long-lost mountain civilization turned into snow-white falcons to watch over their once lush and verdant homeland. Due to the lack of natural predators or hunters in this land now entombed by snow, these old souls live a life of relative comfort.Slate UmbrellafinchBirdsA small, round bird that is a distant relative to Fontainian Finches. The name Umbrellafinch comes from the mushroom-parasol like, unique-looking feathered crest they possess. Research suggests that Slate Umbrellafinches have exceptional abilities dissonant from their appearance, and they are capable of hovering for long periods of time. Additionally, their slate-colored feathers are also a type of camouflage, allowing them to blend into backdrops of sea and sky to effectively evade the detection of their predators.Snow FinchBirdsA chirpy little bird, found in nooks and crannies all over Teyvat. Snowy white from tip to toe, it enjoys a carefree existence in its snowswept natural habitat. Snow Finches are naturally adapted to cold climates and are highly sensitive to changes in temperature. In warmer environments, they become somewhat fatigued, making them easier to catch.Snow-Winged GooseBirdsA large bird that lives in ponds or lakes. Beloved by people due to its noble and gorgeous appearance. With its wings bearing semblance to snow and the loyalty they exhibit toward their households, poets are often in consensus in regarding the Snow-Wing Goose as an avatar of purity and nobility. There is also a tradition of likening outstanding poets, singers, or dancers to Snow-Wing Geese in Fontaine's artistic circles.Thick-Feathered Ruffed PheasantBirdsA medium-sized bird that can be found in Natlan. It wears a luxurious coat of brilliant green feathers, seemingly with a delicate, silky ruff, while its tail feathers are as gorgeous as budding flowers. Perhaps on account of its all-too-luxuriant feathers, akin to a field of flammable flowers, this bird is still afraid of fire, despite living in Natlan's heat. In addition, while other birds may appear fluffy but are actually quite sturdy, what the Thick-Feathered Ruffed Pheasant has beneath its thick feathers is... a very thick, round layer of fat. Thus, it strains itself even by flying normally, and has been called a "Potted plant with wings that can't fly" by the Scions of the Canopy...Umbertail FalconBirdsA sharp-eyed and proud falcon. It soars the skies above the mountain forests, surveying its vast domain. For a patient, keen-eyed hunter of the Kätzlein lineage, shooting a bird like this out of the sky is all in a day's work.Velvetfall DuckBirdsThese quacking water birds live in the rivers, lakes, and wetlands of Teyvat. Their brown feathers remind people of autumn leaves, and the warm clothing made from their down is very popular during cold seasons, which is why they were given this name.Violet IbisBirdsA graceful bird with broad wings and slender legs. It has beautiful violet feathers and enjoys walking across streams or paddy fields in silence. It is referred to as the "Uraume Bird" in ancient Inazuma songs. Once present everywhere, they seem to have become more and more rare.Violetgold Angler GullBirdsA medium-sized bird that dwells in Fontaine. It possesses alternating purple and gold feathers. The Violetgold Angler Gull isn't what most would describe as amiable. They have stolen oily foods straight out of people's hands at the harbor, and sometimes, they even trespass upon fishing boats to get a taste of the fresh fish aboard. Therefore, despite how some insist that "The Violetgold Angler Gulls are emblems of leisurely shoreside living and cannot be treated harshly," fishers still regard them as a sign of trouble and drive them away.Viridian Fantail PigeonBirdsThe Viridian Fantail Pigeon are close relatives of Pigeons. They are graceful in appearance, and though they can be used to send messages after being trained, few people use them as messengers. This type of bird possesses viridescent feathers and a fan-shaped tail. Their personalities are combative and they were once mistaken as the larval form of Jadeplume Terrorshrooms by outsiders that have visited Sumeru before. In actuality, the two life forms have no relations.White PigeonBirdsA common avian species in Teyvat. Plump and meaty, but also capable of delivering messages. This pure-white member of the pigeon family is especially friendly towards humans, but is also highly perceptive of humans' ill intent. Interesting trivia: There is a widely held belief in Mondstadt that an authentic Sweet Madame must be cooked using pigeon meat, but this is just a rumor and nothing more.Windvigil Angler GullBirdsA medium-sized bird native to Mondstadt, distinguished by gray-white and golden feathers. Though their flight may appear aimless, Windvigil Angler Gulls often follow routes that mirror ancient sea lanes. Carried by seasonal winds and ocean currents, they arrive ahead of approaching vessels, as if sensing distant movement long before sails are raised. Sailors at Dornman Port therefore consider their presence a favorable omen. In sea shanties passed down through generations, they are described as messengers between the sea and the sky. Wherever gulls gather, new faces and new stories are not far behind.Abiding AngelfishFishA rare and valuable butterflyfish variant from Liyue. At present, it can only be found near water bodies around the abodes of the adepti. Its pale white lines are very striking, and it has greater longevity than other members of the species and is thus regarded to be a lucky fish blessed by the adepti. Most people from Liyue will refuse to eat this fish on principle, given the common respect for the adepti, but some fear no such superstition and claim that eating these fish can help one extend one's years.Aizen MedakaFishA lively, energetic fish famous for its petal-shaped tail. Long ago, there was a funny story that said that you could get Aizen Medaka by throwing normal Medaka into a pot of blue dye. This was most likely born from a child's over-active imagination, but has nonetheless given rise to not a few unscrupulous fish hawkers. This in turn has given rise to some conversations that go something like "Hey, is it just me, or is the blue on your fish washing off?" In response, the Ministry of Civil Affairs specifically posted this notice: "The market is a wet and wild place. Beware of influxes of blue fish."Akai MaouFishA stickleback with a fierce appearance and a manner to match. It will fight anyone and anything under the sea for food — a veritable and much-feared robber in red. Its fiery-red coloration seems to have much to do with Pyro, for while they cannot quite become flame generators, they do have some control over high temperatures. They can convert energy from their food and focus it on their dangerous snouts, making them underwater scoundrels indeed. "Need to drill wood to make a flame? This is your best friend." — Angler's Atlas, Akai Maou ChapterAzuregaze Crystal-EyeFishA dazzling fish with a translucent, crystal-like head, often seen gliding through the waters of Nod-Krai. Its bright blue hue calls to mind a cloudless sky, earning it the poetic name "Azuregaze." Researchers have found that its head is filled with a protective fluid, housing its actual eyes, which can rotate freely to scan its surroundings with ease. Yet many creatures misinterpret the markings on either side of its mouth as closed eyes, assuming it's sound asleep... even when it's wide awake and watching.BettaFishA swift, fierce fish with spiny fins whose spiny mouth can pierce the current when it swims at full speed. Its capabilities have earned it the nicknames "The Cutter" and "Hard-To-Get." Among sticklebacks, this sort would either count as the proudest, or a rather close second place. They are especially prickly during courtships, where even the slightest breeze or smallest ripple might trip their fuse. A hobbyist once observed one such specimen charging at waving seagrass, as if such flagrant dancing was some major provocation against the stickleback king or something. "If you encounter one underwater, do not look it in the eyes." — Angler's Atlas, Betta ChapterBitter PufferfishFishA rare pufferfish variant. As the name suggests, this creature spreads bitterness wherever it goes in the underwater world. Its water cannon projectiles are slower and smaller than those of its ordinary counterparts, but the power of such attacks is undiminished due to the incredibly bitter pheromones within. During their courtship phase, an observer might bear witness to the curious sight of males and females of this species blasting each other with these water cannons. Perhaps passing on the bitterness of life is also a manifestation of love.Black-Back BassFishA type of fish commonly found in bodies of water everywhere. Their meat is sumptuous, making them an important resource for fish-related gourmet dishes in Teyvat. Black-Back Basses are one of the most commonly seen fish in Teyvat's water bodies. It is said that the older they get, the darker their scales become, and that experienced fishermen know how to pick out the prize catch from the color of their scales.Blazing Axehead FishFishA fish with unique morphology and family ties to the Axe Marlins. Some biologists have theorized that the species split when the Axe Marlins took an evolutionary gamble on axe-shaped bellies, while the Axehead Fishes doubled down on axe-shaped skulls. This rare variant, marked by a vivid, searing red spine — like a branding iron — is an uncommon sight in the waters of Nod-Krai. Local legends tell of a time when those who dared provoke nature's ire drifted on boats across these waters, only for this fish to silently appear and slice through their hulls with its blazing-hot back, sending the wrongdoers to a watery grave. Out of respect (and perhaps a touch of superstition), lucky anglers who manage to reel in a Blazing Axehead often release it back into the wild, or house it reverently in an ornate aquarium.Blazing Heartfeather BassFishPeculiar fishes that look like a heart from the side, which are said to be related to bass. Their dorsal and ventral fins are comprised of flexible bones that are as slender as feathers, hence why researchers proposed the name "Heartfeather Bass." "Blazing Heartfeather Bass" have a unique coloration that shines like sunlight, making them extremely eye-catching in the water. This is said to be a special self-defense strategy which causes other fish that rely on their vision to mistake them for unknown burning objects, keeping potential predators away as a result. Contrary to their flaming appearance, they actually maintain a low body temperature and have a relatively modest food intake. Sometimes, they even go out of their way to stay in the shallows just to get some sunshine.Blue-Fin BassFishA type of fish commonly found in bodies of water everywhere. Their meat is sumptuous, making them an important resource for fish-related gourmet dishes in Teyvat. Blue-Fin Basses have softer flesh than those of their black-backed cousins, which is very welcome amongst those who prefer delicate tastes.Brown ShirakodaiFishA gentle, elegant butterflyfish variant. It has a lovely, streamlined dorsal fin, and has the nickname "Queen of the Waters." Earthen-colored patterns run across its body, and its temper is also as steady as stone. They can go a bit overboard, however, and will sometimes lie at the bottom and not move an inch, just like a rock, leading some buyers to think that they've bought some hopelessly moribund old fish.Cerulean DoppeldrakeFishA large fish rumored to be a descendant of dragons. A branch member of the Koi family, its body is primarily a deep, somber bluish-black, contrasted by a striking pale-gold underbelly. Compared to its many cousins, this species is exceptionally mild-tempered. It never initiates conflict with other aquatic life. However, this should not be mistaken for weakness. When provoked, they can erupt in a sudden strike as fierce and direct as a golden spear, swiftly repelling intruders several times their size and leaving the entire surrounding waters in awe.Charcoal SnowfinFishA plump, spherical Snezhnayan fish, this species might look like a distant cousin to the pufferfish found throughout Teyvat. However, the two actually belong to entirely separate lineages. When the Fishing Association first recorded it, its code name was "Snowland Roundfin." After more than a dozen generations of anglers, this informal name gradually evolved into "Snowfin." The Charcoal Snowfin is the most common subspecies in this family. It is said that the fine, powdery scales contain special components. When dried and ground, and then mixed with the dried powder of Golden Fern roots, they can serve as a remarkably efficient fire starter, prized by many Snezhnayan adventurers.Common Axehead FishFishA fish with unique morphology and family ties to the Axe Marlins. Some biologists have theorized that the species split when the Axe Marlins took an evolutionary gamble on axe-shaped bellies, while the Axehead Fishes doubled down on axe-shaped skulls. Besides its striking silhouette, the most common subspecies of the Axehead Fish is completely unremarkable — so much so that it's often seen as an emblem of the ordinary in the waters of Nod-Krai. Even so, in the taverns of Nasha Town, tales circulate of anglers who prize the so-called "Common Axehead Fish" precisely for its unremarkable nature. With the right training, some say, the sharper ones can even be taught to cut rival fishing lines...Cream SnowfinFishA plump, spherical Snezhnayan fish, this species might look like a distant cousin to the pufferfish found throughout Teyvat. However, the two actually belong to entirely separate lineages. When the Fishing Association first recorded it, its code name was "Snowland Roundfin." After more than a dozen generations of anglers, this informal name gradually evolved into "Snowfin." The Cream Snowfin, thanks to its near-pure-white coloration and its scarcity, is considered the most precious of Snezhnayan fish. Legend has it that the moment its waters grow even slightly impure, other colors begin to leach into its body. Several fairy tales cast it as their protagonist, telling the dreamlike story of a gifted young angler-lad following one of these Snowfins to the "Kingdom of Cream" — a story that briefly caused a citywide cream shortage.CrystalfishFishA rare Medaka that glitters like crystal. Its patterns are very intricate indeed, to the point where it is often called the "Medaka Aesthete." Some merchants will claim that these Medaka will lay a crystal pearl under certain extreme conditions and that this pearl is both an item of great price and a sign of quality. This has made these fish very sought after by people from all walks of life and caused their market value to soar. However, this is just amusing to the fishermen, who know the inside story: That object is merely a Loach Pearl that the fish ate by mistake. It rolled into the fish's salty intestines, only to spat back out of the mouths of merchants with an agenda. Some grounds for a price hike that is!DawncatcherFishA rare species of Medaka that has a brilliant sheen. It seems like a variant species of the normal Medaka, but it has a very different appearance and living habits. There is a rumor that these fish have the mystical ability to predict the weather. If they leap out of the water to catch the dawn's first light as it pierces the skies, then there will surely be a fine, sunny day to come.Divda RayFishA strange cartilaginous fish that was once thought to be a fantastical creature, only recorded in some ancient scrolls of art on Watatsumi Island. As the seal over Enkanomiya was opened, their true forms were laid bare before the eyes of all. It is said that the bodily forms of these curious creatures will change color as time passes. When they are young, they are as gold as sunlight. Rays at this stage of life earned the name "Divda" in those ancient scrolls, which means "the tail end of innocence."Diving Rapidfighting FishFishDespite the name it has been given, this creature is not actually a fish, but a medium-sized amphibian. It has a rather unique appearance with a distinctive flat head that bears a striking resemblance to a fist blade, giving it the look of being constantly ready for fierce battles with its natural enemies. In fact, they are gentle in nature and not aggressive in the slightest. The real purpose of their formidable-looking "blades" is to reduce water resistance when swimming through rivers. Thanks to their special head structure, they can navigate swiftly against the flow of turbulent currents, earning them the name "Rapidfighting Fish." These bluish-toned Rapidfighting Fish are capable of diving down into deeper waters. But due to their fondness for the warmth of direct sunlight, as well as all the fun they have playing with young Koholasaurs, they tend not to stay at the bottom for very long...Dusk SunfishFishMedium-sized fish with a flat body and a gentle temperament, these fish are considered to be one of the least irritable creatures in the waters of Natlan. Capable of consuming almost anything, their utterly indiscriminate eating habits make them natural cleaners of the underwater world, a trait that has earned them high praise among locals. In some folk tales, the intertwining colors with which the skins of these Sunfish are adorned, with their bright reds and light blues, are said to be the result of them having "drunk the remnants of the sunset." Both sunlight and firelight are cherished and revered by the people of Natlan, and as such, writers from Liyue and Fontaine have seen this story as epitomizing the "unique romance of Natlan."Floating RayFishAn exceedingly rare sky-faring creature. This sort of ray is said to have originally hunted its prey in the pitch-dark ocean depths by using fluorescence and elemental particles to lure them in. The legends also say that they ended up in Enkanomiya by mistaking the coral-covered Great Serpent for the sea bed upon which they rested...Floral Rapidfighting FishFishDespite the name it has been given, this creature is not actually a fish, but a medium-sized amphibian. Thanks to their special head structure, they can navigate swiftly against the flow of turbulent currents, earning them the name "Rapidfighting Fish." Owing to their vivid pink hue, these Rapidfighting Fish have been given the prefix "Floral," which has caused some tourists to mistakenly associate them with the Flower-Feather Clan or Qucusaurs. It is said that this color provides particularly effective camouflage against their natural adversaries, especially when in shallow waters against a backdrop of reddish-brown rocks.Formalo RayFishA strange cartilaginous fish that was once thought to be a fantastical creature, only recorded in some ancient scrolls of art on Watatsumi Island. As the seal over Enkanomiya was opened, their true forms were laid bare before the eyes of all. It is said that the bodily forms of these curious creatures will change color as time passes. When they are young, they are as gold as sunlight. Later in life, however, their colors deepen, and their two 'wings' will be colored with a purple as deep as the night. Rays at this stage of life earned the name "Formalo" in those ancient scrolls, which means "the maw of greed."Frosted Axehead FishFishA fish with unique morphology and family ties to the Axe Marlins. Some biologists have theorized that the species split when the Axe Marlins took an evolutionary gamble on axe-shaped bellies, while the Axehead Fishes doubled down on axe-shaped skulls. With their bluish-violet backs, these Axehead Fish were once mistaken by ordinary anglers as a rare and valuable species from "northern waters where the sea ice floats." As a result, they were often kept and raised in near-freezing conditions. In truth, their unique coloring comes not from the cold but from a diet quite different from that of the Common Axehead Fish. For researchers studying the nutrient pathways of local aquatic ecosystems, these fish make for a surprisingly useful sample node in the food chain.12
