This Red variant of Merlin is a lockdown specialist rather than a damage dealer, freezing enemies or locking their attack skills to buy time for the rest of the team. She's at her best in an Unknown team alongside 
Emilia and Rimuru, where the three of them can chain freezes and skill locks to shut an opponent down almost entirely.
HP and Defense gear suits her since her job is staying alive and making the fight miserable for the other side, not racking up damage herself. We rank her B tier.
