Introduction

Seed is an S-rank Electric character in Zenless Zone Zero. Seed's specialty is Attack. Faction: Obol Squad.

On our Zenless Zone Zero tier list Seed is A tier, 27th of the 57 characters ranked, from where 10 current tier lists put Seed.

Other Electric characters in Zenless Zone Zero: Alexandrina Sebastiane, Anby Demara, Anton Ivanov, Asaba Harumasa, Cissia, Claret Flint and 6 more.

Is Seed good?

Seed's damage comes almost entirely from her Basic Attacks, which hit hard and are tough to interrupt, and her Core Skill converts crit rate into extra crit damage. She works best next to another Attack agent like Billy, since their Vanguard interaction buffs each other's ATK and crit damage, with Nicole rounding out the team as support.

We rank her A tier; she isn't built to run solo and needs her Steel Charge resource managed carefully to keep attacking smoothly.

Pairs well with: Billy; Nicole.

Strengths

  • Hard-hitting Basic Attacks that make up most of her damage
  • Attack animations are tough for enemies to interrupt
  • Core Skill turns crit rate into extra crit damage

Weaknesses

  • Needs another Attack agent alongside her to reach full value
  • Steel Charge has to be managed carefully for smooth play

Profile

Seed is a female Human. Her birthday is November 22nd, and she stands 153cm (5'0")/240cm (7'8", mech) tall.

Background

Seed is a playable Agent in Zenless Zone Zero, and the heavy weapons specialist of Obol Squad.

"When you can't find her, try checking narrow, enclosed spaces or the mechanical storage...

though lately, I heard she's been setting up 'safe houses' in the Hollows to avoid people."

Trigger

"...Yes, speaking. What? Seed broke the joint operation commander's ribs again?

But captured the rebel leader who suffered multiple bone fractures?

And these two incidents happened at the same time?"

Magus, puzzled by the entire sequence of events upon receiving the phone call

"Ehnn↘ Nah↗! (A human who's baith guid keekin 'n' speaks bangboo wi' me, bit that accent's wey tae thick.

Ah kin barely mak' oot whit they're sayin'!)"

Bangboonie

"A mysterious, dangerous, cold-blooded monster...

Is she really worth risking your life to protect, Seed Sr.?"

The woman gazing at the yellowed medical report in her hand

"Proxies are like... our 'kindred spirits.' Just like four-leaf clovers and canola flowers."

Seed

"While Seed Sr. was asleep, I made quite a few modifications to him~"

"I think... I gave him stealth capabilities in the latest update~"

"How did I do it, you ask? I just made some adjustments and tweaks by feel~"

At times an angel who cherishes flowers, befriends Bangboo, and solves problems; at others, a devil who eats flowers, messes with Bangboo, and causes problems.

She's the delicate genius huddled inside the cockpit — and the heir to a fearsome mech on the frontlines.

A seed pulsing with a heartbeat, and a new flower blooming with love.

The name of Seed's Animated Short "Love, Death & Constructs" is a reference to the TV series Love, Death & Robots.

Seed's demo references Paimon's line from Genshin Impact, particularly when the player attempts to go out of bounds.

Details

Seed, heavy weapons specialist of New Eridu Defense Force, Obsidian Division, Obol Squad. Her real name is Flora. The codename "Seed" was passed down from her guardian, the combat-grade Intelligent Construct formerly known by the same name, who now goes by "Seed Sr." According to multiple sources, Seed is an unidentified orphan Seed Sr. rescued from Hollow Zero during the fall of the old capital. Seed Sr. adopted her and raised her alone in the Defense Force dormitories. A few years ago, Seed Sr. successfully applied to join Obol Squad, but not long after, he passed away due to irreversible damage to his logic core. As a result, Seed took his place in the squad. Any voice lines heard from Seed Sr. today are system-preloaded audio files. Seed possesses an extraordinary gift for mechanical engineering and research, capable of designing and building inventions far beyond the imagination of most. She also has an exceptional adaptability for Ether, able to push Seed Sr.'s combat capabilities to the limit by piloting him, through remote control, and by using custom combat modules. And so, despite her extraordinarily substandard physical capabilities and entirely mysterious origins, the military still gave tacit approval for her to serve as an elite soldier. Seed behaves quite differently from most people in everyday situations. She uses Seed Sr.'s cockpit as her bed, prefers confined spaces, and strongly dislikes talking to or interacting with anyone outside her immediate circle. Her logic jumps wildly, making meaningful conversation difficult. The good news? For some reason, she's taken a special liking to you, Master, and the second assistant. You've been spared the long ordeal of earning her trust — and you don't have to worry about her occasional bouts of destructive behavior turning your way. Congratulations. Suggestion: Focus on topics like flowers and robots — her favorite things — when engaging in conversation. Stay calm when parts of her logic or meaning don't make sense; treating such moments as normal can help strengthen your bond with her.

From a young age, Seed has displayed unusual and potentially hazardous anomalous abilities. These include the ability to control, disable, or detonate nearby machines. The ability only surfaces during episodes of intense emotional instability, with a red glow in her eyes being the most visible symptom. It was this very ability that caused Seed Sr.'s self-defense system to automatically classify her as a high-risk threat upon their first encounter, indirectly leading to the irreversible damage to his logic core. By the time Seed Sr. rescued her from Hollow Zero, Seed already exhibited a lack of emotional connection to life — she was unable to understand it, feel it, or empathize with it, due to unknown causes. Seed Sr. spent the following years trying to raise her into a more complete person. After his death, the task fell to the rest of Obol Squad. Thankfully, her condition has improved considerably over time. Master, based on your previous exploration logs in Hollow Zero with Seed, it's now clear that her true identity is similar to yours — she was also a student of the Helios Academy. It's presumed that while at Helios, she belonged to a different research project, likely one focused on machine studies. Her abnormal abilities and personality defects are likely residual effects of that project. However, due to her memory loss of both the Helios Academy and the fall of the old capital, no further details can currently be determined. Additionally, Master, she sometimes stares at me with a smile, leading me to suspect she may have an urge to dismantle me out of curiosity. It is deeply unsettling. I must formally request enhanced protection for my personal safety, lest you lose a very cute and capable assistant.

Cooperation Notes:

Belle

Seed's a total gaming pro, likes the same kind of music I do, and isn't into exercising at all. Her cockpit's basically her bedroom... She's just like me for real. Oh, and one more thing we have in common — we both know we're cute~

Wise

Most of the time, I can just about keep up with her... "unusual" way of thinking, but you can never let your guard down. Last time, she said her scooter was broken, so I offered to fix it — only for her to ask if she could ride around on my back all day! Good thing I can outrun her...

The Attack teammate with the highest initial ATK is considered Seed's Vanguard. When the Vanguard unleashes an EX Special Attack, Seed gains Onslaught status, increasing Seed's ATK by 100 and CRIT DMG by 15%. When Seed unleashes an EX Special Attack, the Vanguard gains Direct Strike status, increasing the Vanguard's ATK by 100 and CRIT DMG by 15%. When Direct Strike and Onslaught are both active, Seed and the Vanguard simultaneously gain Besiege status, increasing DMG dealt by 15%. When switching to inactive, the buffs remain until the character goes off-field or 3s after the switch. When the character returns to being the active character, the buffs re-activate. Upon entering the battlefield with a Vanguard, Seed immediately gains Onslaught status and Besiege status, while the Vanguard immediately gains Direct Strike status and Besiege status. Direct Strike and Onslaught status last for 40s, and repeated triggers refresh the duration. When the Vanguard consumes Energy as the active character or when Seed consumes Energy, for every 1 point of Energy consumed, Seed recovers 0.5 points of Steel Charge. *Stats shown are at Base level.
