Introduction

Rope is a 4-star character in Arknights. Rope's class is Specialist. Faction: Lungmen.

On our Arknights tier list Rope is C tier, 240th of the 293 characters ranked, from where 12 current tier lists put Rope.

Is Rope good?

Rope can be deployed on either melee or ranged tiles and reaches two to three tiles out, and both of her skills pull enemies toward her, which is great for shoving them into environmental hazards or another operator's range. Double Hook hits two targets at long range, and she pairs especially well with Angelina's Anti-Gravity Mode, which extends both her pull strength and her reach even further.

She's a C on our list since she's mostly a situational pick, only really valuable on stages with holes or hazards to exploit.

Pairs well with: Angelina.

Strengths

  • Deployable on melee or ranged tiles with long reach
  • Both skills pull enemies into hazards or allies' range
  • Double Hook hits two targets at long range
  • Synergizes very well with Angelina's Anti-Gravity Mode

Weaknesses

  • Much less useful on stages without hazards or gaps to exploit

Profile

Rope is a female Cautus. Her birthday is April 4th, and she stands 155 cm tall. Rope is voiced by Claire Morgan in English, Ayumi Fujimura (OLD) Chiyuki Miura (NEW) in Japanese, and Lee Sae-byeok in Korean.

Background

Enduring a harsh life in Lungmen which turned her into a street urchin before running afoul with the Lungmen Guard Department, Rope the Infected Cautus was enlisted to Rhodes Island under Ch'en's recommendation, making use of her grappling hook and skills as a thief to disrupt the enemies' formations.

However, she can't get off her habit of stealing things right under one's noses, so watch your wallet while around Rope...

Hey, Where Is Everyone?: On some risky missions, odds are our teams will run into some brutal, dangerous enemies.

Whether you can dispatch the other side without disturbing them is this simulation's main focus.

Rope wanted to ditch this training session, but trying out this new model of auxiliary device was just too fun, and chances like this don't grow on trees.

You've gotta get your own experience in.

Hook 'em, and hook 'em hard! Be mega careful you don't wake any defenseless enemies, or else your whole team's in for a bad day!

HOK-X: "Quit bugging me. Hold on a liiiittle more."

Opening her sheet metal box, Rope bobs her chin, torn between two chokers.

The plastic imitation-tattoo one is her usual pick; it makes her neck look more slender.

Most importantly, it's cheap–they come a literal dime a dozen.

"Salary, y'know? I don't wanna splash salary.

I have to rake that stuff in with my own poor cutesy hands."

"Rope, it's been ten minutes. Are you still not decided?"

"Just gimme a tiny bit longer, pleaaase."

"I'm giving you ten more minutes. That's ten.

Period."

"Gotcha!"

"Man, I really like the other one too. Nawww.

I super like it..."

In the box lies an exquisitely handmade leather choker, studded with limpid melee diamonds, somewhat at odds sat with the cheap and loud plastic product next to it.

A few months ago, a fellow squad op gave Rope this choker as a present, as thanks for having her back in a desperate situation.

Rope loves it. It's a treasure of hers, but never her pick.

She used to loiter at the display window, making her reflection overlap with the pedestal behind the glass, and like moonlight shines on the water, this choker would sit around her neck.

She'd flutter her eyes, and so would the girl in the glass, and in that moment they'd become one.

But unfortunately, reflections aren't forever.

"I bet I looked way too desperate staring at it.

I bet that's how she figured me out."

"Aw, it sucks so much. All the stuff I want but can't get, and now the only thing I get to do is daydream about it."

"Ugh–why'd I ever get on this pirate ship?!"

She dangles the choker in front of her nose, shuts her eyes and sniffs deeply at the leather's smoky scent.

It's the fragrance of tar oil, picked up from its tanning phase.

"Ahh, that's the smell of wealth–maybe I'll just wear this one for today.

Then again, the leather's so soft. What if it gets scraped up?"

Rope cups the choker in her hands, and lightly rubs her cheeks against it, reveling in the sophisticated and sensual texture.

"You're so comfy. I love you. Couldn't bear to wear you..."

"It's been ten minutes! If you don't come out, I'm leaving you behind!"

Rope curls her lips, secretly showing her resentment at the voice nagging her from behind the door.

"Coming!"

"What are you even picking?"

"I'm a girl going out! I've gotta pick out my shoes and outfit and jewelry just right."

"Your clothes look pretty much same as normal to me."

"You say that again and I'm gonna get mad."

"...Why aren't you wearing that choker I got you?

Don't you like it?"

"Of course I'm not. It's the good stuff.

You've always gotta leave the good stuff for next time."

"Hrmph. I'd beg to differ."
