Episode 2: Dynamite Blue!
At Midground's errand center Dynamite Blue, the rebooted Boss declares there's no salary this month. With the Signet Game company competition that Lilly found, Lain signs up behind the Boss's back, and the first opponent is set as HDT. Lilly, Ru, and Sean Terry join the attack Lain started alone, and they defeat HDT's Tsuki, someone Lain knew, and occupy the sector. Tsuki warns that the Signet Game is dirty. The Boss gets angry, saying Lain can't withdraw, but lets slip that he used to do it too.

Lilly is watching a video. She starts crying as she watches a video of an elderly woman taking a walk.
Lain appears. Seeing Lilly, he starts crying along with her.
Sean Terry appears and, joining in, starts crying along too.
Ru stands there blankly.
Just then, Lilly's grandmother comes by with snacks.
Lilly and Plank rush over at the smell of the snacks.
Lain and Sean Terry look at Lilly and Plank with dumbfounded expressions.

An Amatech Security Team helmet lies on the floor.Its visor is shattered.
Amatech security agents sweep the tram station as the fighting rages on.
A moment later, the fighting ends. Someone picks up the helmet.
The squad leader's figure is reflected in the cracked visor.

And the doctor?
He's gone.But he's definitely somewhere in here.
