Starfire

Starfire is a Mythic+ character in DC: Dark Legion. Starfire's role is Supporter.

Born into the royal family of the planet Tamaran, Princess Koriand'r was the second oldest after her sister Komand'r.

Because a childhood illness robbed Komand'r of her natural ability to use ultraviolet energy to fly, she was removed from the line of succession to the throne.

Bitter, she fled to the enemy empire of the Citadel and gave them state secrets that enabled them to successfully invade Tamaran.

The peace terms included Koriand'r being enslaved to the Citadel to ensure Tamaran's obedience.

After six years of torture and abuse, Koriand'r was captured along with Komand'r by the Psions, aliens who experimented on them to see how much ultraviolet energy their bodies could absorb before dying.

Instead, they gained the ability to fire energy bolts and escaped.

Koriand'r fled to Earth.

Pursued to Earth by the Citadel, Koriand'r was saved by the Teen Titans, a team of heroes united by Raven who was seeking help against her demonic father.

With the ability to absorb languages by touch, Koriand'r found companionship, friendship, and adventure with the Titans, taking the heroic name Starfire.

Adopting the Earth name Kory Anders, she began a career as a model.

She dated and fell in love with a human man, but he was spy working for the criminal organization, the H.IV.E., which the Titans had defeated several times.

However, he truly fell in love with Kori and was killed by the H.I.V.E.

for refusing to betray her. The Titans brought his killers to justice.

Later, Kori fell in love with her teammate Robin (Dick Grayson), a relationship that would prove enduring.

Dick and Kori stayed together as he became the team leader and changed heroic identity to Nightwing.

Their relationship was tested when Starfire brough him to her homeworld, which had won freedom from the Citadel.

Her parents asked Kori to accept a marriage of state to Prince Karras to strengthen their planetary alliance against external enemies.

It was for strategic purposes only, as Karras was in love with another and Kori did not love him.

Kori agreed and didn't understand why Dick was so upset; on Tamaran, multiple spouses were not uncommon.

Then when she had second thoughts, Dick refused to disrupt the wedding and harm her homeworld.

In the end, a coup from Kori's sister Blackfire conquered Tamaran.

Dick returned to Earth, while Kori and Karras stayed to mount a resistance.

Kori and Karras' resistance ultimately defeated Blackfire, but by that time, she had proved to be an effective ruler.

Her parents agreed to share the throne with her, and Kori gave her blessing.

She also gave her blessing for Karras to be with woman he loved.

Then she returned to Earth and the Titans.

It took time, but eventually she and Nightwing got back together as well, and when they returned to Tamaran, it was on much better terms.

Tragically, on that trip Karras was killed saving Tamaran from a terrorist attack led by his long-lost sister.

Later, Nightwing and Starfire almost married, but their wedding was disrupted by Raven, possessed by her demonic side.

Afterward, shaken by the incident, they both realized they had things to figure out and went their separate ways.

Starfire, Blackfire, and several Titans (not including Nightwing) returned to Tamaran to fight an invasion by the Citadel, Psions, and Gordanians.

Tamaranean General Phy'zzon was captured and subjected to Psion experiments that gave him powers; Starfire rescued him.

They bonded over their similar ordeals and later feel in love and married.

When the war went badly, Phy'zzon ordered a planetary evacuation.

Starfire's parents remained on Tamaran and died when their planet was destroyed.

It turned out the enemies of Tamaran were allied with the demonic Raven.

When the Titans freed her from her father's influence, the alliance crumbled, and the Tamaraneans won the war, settling on a planet they called New Tamaran.

Sadly, New Tamaran was later consumed by a Sun-Eater, and Phy'zzon died defending it.
