She knew her mother liked fireworks, when she was a child, her mother had held Lian in her arms as they enjoyed the spectacle together.

Under the night sky, as the last firework faded into darkness, Lian mustered the courage to open up to her mother, sharing that she had resolved to study in Hazlitt.

Her mother's response was icy and detached, she just handed Lian a package.
