Tiye (Nut)

Tiye (Nut) is a Legendary Flow character in Dislyte. Tiye (Nut)'s role is Controller. Faction: Esper Union.

Tiye's whole game plan is messing with the enemy's action points, whether that's draining them on a hit or stunning the entire enemy side and pulling their AP away, as long as they aren't faster than her. Her ultimate goes even further, swapping AP between the enemy with the most and the ally with the least, then skimming extra AP off every enemy to share around her own team.

That much action point disruption is worth an A-tier rating.

This is how Tiye talks to herself...

Tiye has always been something of a mystery wrapped in an enigma to her fellow classmates and colleagues at the Esper Union in thought, word and deed.

Neither has Tiye helped her cause with her penchant for abstruse sayings at odd moments, an occasional “Vanity, vanity, all is vanity!” or “Our fates are written in the stars!” and unusual, even bizarre behaviors.

Tiye may have all the markings of a “star” student - literally and figuratively - in the Academy, and yet has never featured prominently on any official Union ads or releases.

On the contrary, the “Heart of the Universe” Esper Tiye has proved to be something of a loose cannon from the perspective of the Union leadership, which may perhaps explain her dearth of key assignments thus far.

Career 2: Tiye always believes that her family still awaits her in the ether of the universe.

The roots of Tiye’s apparent disconnect from reality has a deeply psychological cause, as may be expected given her past trauma.

Tiye’s life changed forever when her family was attacked suddenly by Miramon en route to their new home.

She saw her father die immediately, and mother sometime later on a hospital bed as she struggled for breath.

The alarming reality of the situation created a deep psychological need in Tiye for some kind of escapism.

Rather than face up to the reality of what had happened, Tiye constructed a complicated narrative in which her parents were true warriors who, upon passing their final test, had been escorted away into another universe by the “Emissaries of the Miracles”.

Tiye constructed an elaborate picture of the universe in the intervening years between the accident and her time at the Academy, a pleasant fantasy which endured surprisingly long until its interpretations proved untenable.

Career 3: Kaylee is the only person who truly understands Tiye.

Tiye found a friend at the Academy - a “hero” willing to partner with her on building a new bridge with their Esper powers.

Tiye had finally found someone willing to tolerate her oddball behaviors - the positively-minded, friendly and welcoming Kaylee.

Kaylee became known in the Academy as Tiye’s dutiful interpreter.

Whenever Tiye made odd remarks, such as, “Let the Stars guide you, oh poor, confused souls on your predestined path” then Kaylee would clarify to confused bystanders that Tiye meant, “You’re in trouble?

I’ll help you!”

Kaylee’s deepening friendship with Tiye combined with the pair’s excessive free time at the Academy led to the composition of two fantasy books drawn directly from Tiye’s strange ideas: “The Astral Chant” and “Daughter of Fate”, which the pair triumphantly organized into a couple of short novels for publication.

Unfortunately, Tiye’s insights appeared rather incomprehensible even to classmates in book form - with the exception of Kaylee.

Career 4: Tiye draws strength from her ability to tell stories and her understanding of the events in her life.

Tiye has been forced to confront her predilection for fantasy over reality in her later years.

Tiye’s ability to weave her own narrative has remained a powerful force in her life, however, and still remains a great source of strength when logic and reason would dictate otherwise.

Tiye remains extremely proud of the publication of The Astral Chant and Daughter of Fate, the former of which she still read obsessively for a fresh reminder of her past thoughts.

Kaylee may claim that the “Daughter of Fate” is far easier to understand, yet Tiye knows in her heart that this is only because the cruel reality of the world had truly begun to darken her idealistic dreams by that point.

What is the true value of the stories we tell ourselves?

Or harsh realities we might prefer not to admit?

For Tiye, the choice is obvious: she would rather live in a fairy world of her own making without sadness or pain.
