Background

Union Report=Animus Gray, Identity Code E09-051317, Re-A Chip Status: Normal, No Abnormal Fluctuations.A former mercenary who later joined Union.

Calm, composed, and highly dependable, Gray consistently earns top ratings for every assignment he undertakes, making him one of Union's finest Animus investigators.Compared to his past self, the transformation Gray has undergone is remarkable he is now, without a doubt, a trustworthy companion.

|-| Memory FragmentI="Alright, everyone, it's lunchtime."As the oldest child in the orphanage, Gray had long since taken up the responsibility of helping the caretakers."Bruma, make sure to put the toys back in the box properly.

Natalie, Lorne, stop arguing over that fallen baked apple—you can have mine instead.

And you three, don't be sad. I know your good friend left the orphanage a few days ago, but she was adopted into a better life.

One day, you'll have the chance to visit her."Like a little adult, he skillfully reassured and guided each child toward the dining hall.Gray was content with this life.Though no family had chosen to adopt him due to his unremarkable talents, he didn't mind.Living peacefully in the orphanage, helping the younger children—this was a good enough life.

|-| Memory FragmentII=The news of the orphanage's closure came without warning.Gray and the other children had no time to prepare before they were driven out by the people reclaiming the orphanage property.

They wandered the streets for days, until they were eventually separated—leaving Gray alone, with nowhere to call home.

To survive, he had no choice but to find a way forward.

In the end, he became a mercenary, taking on various assignments to earn his keep. Not long after, he stumbled upon an abandoned newspaper, where he learned the grim truth-most of the children who had been "adopted" from the orphanage had actually been taken to Leiboz Life and used as test subjects.

Shocked and furious, Gray quickly realized something else—the orphanage director had likely closed the facility and dispersed the children and staff to protect them from becoming the next targets of Leiboz Life. But an unease settled in his heart—just because the orphanage was gone didn't mean Leiboz Life's grasp had loosened.

Their reach would still extend toward the scattered children, toward those he once called family...At that moment, Gray made up his mind.

If the director could no longer protect them-then he would do it himself.

|-| Memory FragmentIII=Gray pushed open the heavy wooden door and stepped into a near-empty bar with only the bartender inside.

He placed a commission slip on the counter, sliding it toward the bartender."Job's done.""That fast?

No surprise there. Still, hard to believe my most reliable mercenary is just a kid.

Sit tight—the payment will be in your account as soon as the client confirms."The bartender was about to take the slip when Gray pressed it down."Any news on the orphans I asked you to keep an eye on?""Hmph...

Nothing. Honestly, it's a miracle we even found the few we did.

The rest, including your old director? It's like they vanished into thin air.

My advice? Let it go. Stop throwing your money away.

With all the chaos in Sivirion, they probably got caught up in the mess.

Odds are, they didn't make it."Gray released the paper, letting the bartender take it."Keep looking.

I don't care how much it costs or how long it takes-l won't stop until I find them.”
