Mark of Bravery

There you are, Glenn. What's up? Is something bothering you?

Ah, Aldo. Cyrus. Not at all.

I've just been thinking... I wonder if my father...if Garai's soul will ever be saved.

I hope a day will come where the Einlanzer and I can free him, but... I do not know if I am capable of saving my father's soul. Can I truly become the person I wish to be?

I can never seem to figure out what I ought to do...

I think you worry needlessly, Glenn. I know you are more than capable. Just believe in yourself and keep moving forward, and the day you wish for will come.

I truly hope so. Thank you, Cyrus.

Woah! A dragonfolk envoy?

O Glenn the dragoon... Successor of the holy sword Einlanzer. You have done well to obtain the Mark of Bravery.

So allow me to offer you a Guiding Light instead.

That would be most welcome.

But first, you must defeat Grim Cassies and bring me six Cassie Tears. Then I shall bestow it to you, who bears our holy sword.

O Glenn the dragoon... Successor of the holy sword Einlanzer. It seems you have missed your chance to obtain something of import.

I have?

Indeed. It is a legendary item known as the Hero's Medal, and only a chosen few are permitted to wear it.

The Hero's Medal?!

In reverence to the holy sword, I shall lend you my power once more. But first I will test whether you are truly worthy of the medal or not.

Alright. What do we need to do?

Defeat Grim Cassies and bring me six Cassie Tears. Then I shall bestow you, who bears our holy sword, with the Mark of Bravery.

However, you must undertake a curse before you begin.

A curse?

Aye. And with it, you must overcome the trial.

Very well then. I accept your terms. A curse doesn't scare me.

Then so shall it be done. This is now your burden to bear.

Gck... Ahhh!

Glenn!

Are you alright, Glenn?

Y-Yes... I am fine. Please do not worry. Now then, the trial awaits...

So all I need to do is bring you six Cassie Tears. I accept.

Then let's go find ourselves some Grim Cassies!

That should be enough.

Then let us return to the dragonfolk envoy.

Right. Let's move.

As promised, we come bearing six Cassie Tears.

Very well. I shall uphold my end of the bargain. Take it with pride.

I shall now dispel the curse upon you.

Ah, much better. I feel like myself again.

Listen well, young dragoon.

The road is perilous for those who waver. Take the will of us dragons in your hand and tread your path without fear of losing your way.

Thank you for your wisdom, ancient dragon. I promise the Einlanzer is in good hands.

As the one who now bears this sword, I swear to become a warrior worthy of its grandeur. Of that you have my word!

Glenn. With both the Einlanzer and Masamune, I am certain you will become a true hero. And I look forward to that day with my whole heart.

I promise you, Cyrus.

I shall become a swordsman worthy of both blades.

I have no doubt about that, Glenn. We'll all be rooting for you.

Should we be heading back now? Our journey's not over yet.
