Is Saria good?

Saria doubles as a healer thanks to Medicine Dispensing, which has a low enough SP cost to let her patch up allies about as efficiently as an actual Medical Medic. Calcification goes further, healing everyone in a 3-tile radius around her every second while also amplifying the Arts damage those same enemies take and slowing their movement speed by 60%, though it quietly disarms Saria herself while it's running.

That combination makes her especially strong against hordes, keeping her allies alive while Casters pile on damage to the slowed, more vulnerable enemies.
