The Sokyoku's seal is broken only for an execution. In that one blade lies the destructive power of a million Zanpakuto. It possesses the defensive ability to block Zanpakuto of equal power.
More importantly, when a Soul Reaper is crucified and then stabbed with the Sokyoku, the blade's power grows exponentially, dozens of times over.
The one who plotted this execution plans to use this power to destroy the Seireitei. Once that's done, they intend to obliterate the entire Soul Society as well.
