Batgirl

Batgirl is a Mythic character in DC: Dark Legion. Batgirl's weapon type is ranged and role is Supporter. Faction: Bat Family.

On our DC: Dark Legion tier list Batgirl is C tier, 25th of the 36 characters ranked, from where 8 current tier lists put Batgirl.

Batgirl does something no other Champion does: a big Crit Rate buff, over 50% combined at max star level, plus a Crit AMP effect early on, all while healing whoever's lowest on HP.

The problem is that only a handful of Champions actually scale off Crit Rate the way she needs, mainly Nightwing and, to a lesser degree, Red Robin and Robin, so outside a Bat Family squad her buff usually loses out to flat ATK buffs or damage-vulnerability debuffs from other supports. We rate her C. She's too fragile to take hits, so she has to sit in the backline, ideally Position 3 behind Red Robin and Batman in a full Bat Family lineup.

Pairs well with: Bat Family: Red Robin and Batman in front, Nightwing, Robin, and Batgirl in back; Birds of Prey (weaker fit): Hawkgirl and Harley Quinn in front, Poison Ivy, Nurse Harley, and Batgirl in back.

The daughter of Gotham police commissioner James Gordon, Barbara Gordon began studying to be like him from an early age.

She was inspired by Batman as well and took up martial arts training.

A skill she developed on her own was a remarkable familiarity with computers.

Gifted with a photographic memory, she graduated early and tried to enter the police academy, but her protective father forbade it.

She took a job at the library, her dreams of crime-fighting confined to a Batgirl costume she made for a masquerade party.

But when the criminal Killer Moth raided the party, taking Bruce Wayne hostage, Batgirl intervened.

While she helped Bruce escape, her debut was mixed.

Killer Moth got away, and Batman warned her not to pursue such a dangerous life.

But Barbara refused to give up!

Barbara continued pursuing Killer Moth and finally located and apprehended the criminal.

Impressed by her skill and tenacity, and with Dick Grayson strongly advocating for her, Batman accepted Batgirl as an ally and even revealed his identity to her.

She began a career as a solo crime-fighter and part of the Bat-Family.

While there were romantic sparks between her and Dick Grayson, they didn't act on them.

Then, unexpectedly, The Joker showed up at her father's home when Barbara was there and shot her, damaging her spine and leaving her in a wheelchair.

It remains unclear if The Joker knew she was Batgirl or was just after Commissioner Gordon, who he kidnapped to set a trap for Batman.

Regardless, unable to walk, Barbara's career as Batgirl was over.

Although Barbara couldn't walk, she wasn't about to give up her crime fighting career.

Adopting the identity of Oracle, she set up an intricate, wide-ranging computer network, and infiltrated most of the world's systems.

Serving as an information broker and master planner to various heroes, she founded the Birds of Prey, a team of female superheroes anchored by herself, Black Canary, and Huntress.

During this period, she also began a relationship with Dick Grayson, now Nightwing, and they even got engaged.

But Barbara ended the engagement when she realized Dick's loyalties were torn between her and Batman, and they were not ready to settle down.

They promised to return to each other some day.
