Lu Yi believes that chivalry simply means

protecting the weak and vulnerable.

Career 1: The legends of the continent of Grandis tell a tale of a maverick carrying a longbow.

The people of Grandis tell tales of a legendary but mysterious lone ranger who roams the plains of Grandis, helping those who cross his path.

With his giant bow he metes out justice to all bad guys, from common criminals to comic book supervillains.

You'd be hard-pressed to learn his name.

A few people know him only as Lu Yi.

He works as a mercenary and bounty hunter, but if it's for a good cause, he often refuses payment.

He even donates his earrings to the poor.

Many have tried to persuade him to join their faction, but he simply ignores them and scares them away with his ferocious mask.

Even his grateful clients find him a little intimidating.

As long as you don't appear to be wicked, he'll gladly assist you.

Career 2: Lu Yi has found his way of chivalrous conduct.

Lu Yi has enjoyed reading about comic book superheroes ever since he was a child.

The naive boy thought it would be super cool to become a hero and save the world.

As he grew up and pursued his dream, he had to face the true extent of human suffering as he learned of humanity's struggle for survival.

He quickly gave up on childish ideas of "looking cool", and he set out to become a true hero who helped others out of the goodness of his heart.

Lu Yi improved in both talent and maturity as he grew older and gained a better grasp of what it takes to be a hero.

His naivete ultimately gave way to confidence and perseverance.

Career 3: People should embrace the sunny side of things.

However, where there is no light, there usually is more darkness.

Lu Yi decided to join the Esper Union after speaking with his good friend Bardon.

But once the Union was embroiled in conflict with the Shadow Decree, he realized that the Union's definition of justice was crippled and limited by rules and regulations.

The Esper Union excelled at combating the Miramon threat.

But, when dealing with lawbreakers and criminals, it was hampered by its own self-imposed rules and procedures.

Crime and misconduct were often overlooked in these gray areas.

Although Lu Yi recognized that the Union needed to uphold regulations agreed upon with local authorities, he hated allowing criminals to escape due to technicalities.

He ultimately decided not to join the Esper Union and to forge his own path to uphold justice.

Career 4: Before he knew it, Lu Yi has become the chivalrous man he dreamed of becoming.

On the rare occasional that Lu Yi opens up about himself to someone, he talks about his dreams of becoming a wandering superhero.

He knows that he still has a long way to go.

He knows that this journey will be a lonely and arduous one.

Despite being injured and nearly killed in the line of duty, he still has no regrets.

As a powerful Esper, Lu Yi considers it his duty to protect the weak and the destitute.

Driven by his passion for aiding people in their time of need, he remains optimistic in the face of overwhelming danger.

Lu Yi may not have realized it, but he's already regarded as a hero by many.
