Achates cleanses every debuff off the party with Skill 3 and turns each debuff removed into a random buff, which makes them a hard counter to enemies that lean on heavy debuffing. Skill 2 backs that up on a single ally, stripping a couple of debuffs, shielding them, and pushing their action gauge forward, handy for getting a slow attacker moving.

Since Skill 3's cooldown resets while it's already available, they can cycle it often, and a build leaning into Speed and Effect Resistance keeps them durable enough to keep supporting through a fight, mostly in PvP.

Second daughter of Rosvalt, an adviser to the former king of Ezera, Achates joined the Holy Order of the Blue Cross with the wish to save the world through the Goddess's mercy.

She has little to do with her older sister, heir to the family name, and seems to be holding some discontent within her heart.

Azure Sea: The timid Achates decided to treat herself and buy a new swimsuit.

It's more revealing than her usual clothes, so she feels a little embarrassed wearing it.

Welcome to Oasis Land

In Welcome to Oasis Land, Achates appears only briefly, and specifically in her Azure Sea suit, during the scenes showing Oasis Land after its successful restoration and reopening.

She does not take part in the central conflict involving Frida, the Pfalz family, or the restoration effort itself, but instead appears as part of the group accompanying Angelica during the park’s festive reopening.

Her short appearance comes right after Angelica slips away to rest and Angelic Montmorancy starts looking for the missing High Priestess.

Achates joins that search, asking whether anyone has seen a pink-haired, adorable woman about Angelica’s height.

When Festive Eda hesitates, Clarissa suggests checking another area first, and Achates leaves with the others to continue looking.

The scene is brief, but it presents Achates as part of Angelica’s familiar circle, attentive to her whereabouts even in a relaxed summer setting.

7th Anniversary Festivities: Bloomtide's Special Courier

In 7th Anniversary Festivities: Bloomtide's Special Courier, Achates appears at the Holy Order of the Blue Cross while Ras is making Bloomtide deliveries in place of Merurin.

Her role in this story is brief but warm: she has already finished moving the flowers from the Larunda estate inside and thanks Ras for bringing them, showing her as someone actively helping with the Order’s festival preparations.

Her more personal importance emerges when Ras hands her a vase and a letter from Byblis.

After learning that Byblis sent them, Achates listens as Ras relays Byblis’s message: that the flower is a new cultivar raised while thinking of her, and that Byblis wants Achates to give it a name and visit home when she has time.

Achates is visibly touched by both the flower’s scent and the sentiment behind it, and responds by saying she should prepare an invitation for her sister for that year’s festivities.

In this story, Achates’s role is more about quietly affirming that her bond with Byblis remains active and affectionate.

Portrait of a Lingering Fragrance

In Portrait of a Lingering Fragrance, Achates first appears as someone who sincerely wants to spend time with her sister Byblis again, even taking a day off to invite her on a picnic to the hill they used to visit as children, where Young Achates once gave Young Byblis a birthday bouquet.

When Byblis turns her down because she already has other plans, Achates is disappointed but does not press the issue.

Later, sensing that Byblis is strangely avoiding her, Achates resolves to keep reaching out and prepares pie and herbal tea so they can have dinner together instead.

When Byblis abruptly rushes out again, Achates is left wondering where she goes every evening, and her suspicions deepen after she notices Byblis’s usually tidy workbench is in disarray.

Achates then becomes directly involved in the kidnapping case when she leads an investigation team from the Holy Order of the Blue Cross to Belle Nuit after one of the shop’s perfumes is found at a crime scene.

Calm and methodical, she asks the veiled perfumer for a customer ledger to narrow down the suspects, and after the perfumer disappears, she notes that the woman seemed almost to have expected the investigation.

When she later confronts Byblis, Achates reveals that she had already discovered notes for a location-tracking perfume and a truth-telling perfume in Byblis’s workshop, recognized the perfumer’s identity despite the veil, and correctly deduced that Byblis was using the shop as a cover to track the kidnapper.

Rather than exposing her, Achates chooses to trust her, sends the investigation team away on a false lead, and promises to keep them off Byblis’s trail so she can finish the case herself.

After the case is resolved, Achates remains closely involved in its aftermath.

She informs Byblis that the rescued children will be taken in by the Holy Order and notes that Edelina continues to bring them meals, which convinces her that Edelina truly cared for them.

She also asks why Belle Nuit remains open now that the investigation is over, listens as Byblis explains what she has learned, and warmly encourages her by saying that, despite her cold exterior, her heart is warmer than anyone’s and that she will become a good perfumer.

In the final scene, Achates also reacts with affectionate exasperation when Jack the Rip returns Byblis’s missing ledger, showing that her trust and familiarity with Byblis remain intact even after the deception is uncovered.

Taken together, these stories present Achates as someone whose warmth and loyalty remain constant across very different contexts.

In Welcome to Oasis Land, she appears on a much smaller scale, but still as part of a dependable supporting circle, helping reinforce the lively, communal atmosphere of Oasis Land’s successful reopening.

In Portrait of a Lingering Fragrance and Bloomtide's Special Courier, she is closely tied to Byblis through trust, affection, and quiet emotional continuity.
