Lore
Welcome to Oasis Land
In Welcome to Oasis Land, Romann has a smaller but still character-consistent role tied to the royal side of the story.
Early on, Festive Eda says that both Schniel and Romann had said the palace continued allocating a generous yearly budget to Oasis Land, which makes Romann one of the officials associated with the belief that the park was still being maintained properly.
That detail later helps underline how serious the hidden embezzlement and neglect really are once the park is found in ruins.
Romann then appears directly near the time of Oasis Land’s reopening, when Schniel excitedly says he has received an invitation and wants to go see the restored park in person.
Romann immediately shuts the idea down, reminding him that he still has a great deal of royal work to finish and bluntly telling him to act like a king instead of wasting time arguing.
The exchange is brief and comedic, but it reinforces Romann’s familiar role as the stern, responsible aide who keeps Schniel anchored to his duties even when the king wants to act on impulse.
Later, when the park is successfully operating and visitors begin arriving, Mercedes notes that Schniel and Romann have both come, alongside Tywin.
Although Romann does not drive the final resolution himself, his presence places him among the royal witnesses to Oasis Land’s successful restoration and to the events surrounding Frida’s recognition.
In this story, then, Romann serves less as a front-line actor and more as a representative of royal order and oversight, consistent with the same seriousness and sense of duty that define him elsewhere.
Orbis Gladiatorium
Across Orbis Gladiatorium - Preliminaries and Call of the Heavens, Romann is portrayed as one of Lefundos’s principal military and administrative figures, serving as Knight Commander and working closely with Schniel in the creation and management of F.
I. D. E. L. I. S. . In the early F. I. D.
E. L. I. S. material, he questions Schniel’s decision to appoint Ruiza as Supreme Commander, worries about her background, and continues clashing with her after her appointment, making it clear that the two have a long and difficult history dating back to their youth.
Even so, Romann remains involved in practical matters, helping carry out Schniel’s will and acting as a serious, skeptical counterweight to the more aggressive decisions around him.
Romann also has an important role in the origin of the Orbis Gladiatorium itself.
When Ruiza decides that ordinary recruitment will not produce the kind of talent F.
I. D. E. L. I. S. needs, Romann is the one she turns to with her proposal, and he then reports that plan directly to Schniel.
Later, once Ras begins competing, Romann continues acting as Schniel’s informant, reporting Ras’s progress through the preliminaries and noting how dramatically participation has increased because of Ras’s presence.
Although Schniel sees this as a successful strategy, Romann remains doubtful about the scheming behind it and openly questions how far Schniel intends to go in using the tournament to build F.
I. D. E. L. I. S. .
As the official rounds progress, Romann becomes increasingly tied to the mystery of the Axe of Heavenly Mandate.
He explains to Ras how the Axe was obtained from an ancient Wintenberg excavation, reveals that the previous tournament’s winner broke into the room where it was stored, and confirms that the Axe’s hidden power seems to have been unleashed after that intrusion.
When Ras says he can sense foreign celestial energy from the weapon, Romann immediately takes the warning seriously.
Internally, he concludes that an ordinary human could never withstand that power and decides that Ras must be the one to win the tournament so the Axe does not fall into the wrong hands.
Romann’s personal role reaches its peak in the finals of Orbis Gladiatorium.
Before reaching that point, he defeats Hwayoung in the quarterfinals and Pavel in the semifinals, proving himself one of the tournament’s strongest contenders before ultimately facing Ras in the final.
He tells Ras plainly that he entered the tournament only because of Schniel’s scheming and has no desire whatsoever to become Ruiza’s subordinate in F.
I. D. E. L. I. S. , but as Knight Commander of Lefundos he cannot accept losing before his own people.
Monolith Showdown
In Monolith Showdown, Romann is among the people dragged into Notos’s Pyramid and forced into the struggle over the Monolith.
Notos presents him, along with the others, as one of the captives whose fate now depends on Ras’s progress.
Later, Romann appears as the Protector of the second sector, compelled to fight Ras under Notos’s control.
He occupies the Bastion of Hope on Ras’s side of the Pyramid’s mirrored bracket, following Cerise’s sector and preceding Ruiza and Schniel on the path to the final battle.
After Ras defeats him, Romann regains his senses, learns that Notos deceived everyone and forced them into battle, and immediately focuses on Schniel and Tywin’s safety.
Overall, these stories portray Romann as serious, dutiful, and deeply responsible.
He is skeptical of reckless plans, openly critical of people he does not trust, and rarely enthusiastic about the schemes unfolding around him, but he continues to serve Lefundos and Orbis with consistency.
Whether organizing the Gladiatorium, warning Ras about the Axe, acting as one of Notos’s unwilling Protectors, or keeping Schniel focused on his responsibilities while Oasis Land reopens, Romann is consistently shown as a man driven less by ambition than by duty and protective resolve.
