Is Ruele of Light good?

Ruele of Light's signature move, Miracle of Light, brings a downed ally back at full health while shielding them with invincibility, turning a full party wipe into a one-turn comeback; if everyone's still standing, the same skill switches to clearing debuffs and topping off a target's health instead, so the turn is never spent for nothing.

A separate passive lets her bring herself back once from half health along with a hefty action-gauge refund, keeping her around long enough to keep the team propped up. She's usually built around speed and counter stats, though a tankier version that drops speed for a huge HP pool works well against fast, aggressive opponents.

Strengths

  • Signature skill brings back a downed ally at full HP under invincibility
  • When no ally has fainted, the same skill cleanses debuffs and fully heals instead
  • Has a one-time self-revive at half HP that also refunds a big chunk of action gauge

Lore

In Arena Story, Ruele of Light appears as one of the powerful figures recreated inside the Pyramid.

Before she appears directly, Ventus explains that the Pyramid restores the strongest people from a world using the Monolith and the World Tree’s records, which is why Arky immediately wonders whether he and Ras might be able to see Ruele and Kise again.

When Ruele does appear, she is already traveling with Judge Kise, and Kise remarks that she worries when Ruele runs around on her own.

Ruele in turn says she has been keeping the group safe by taking “a little look-see into the future” with her rabbit fortune cookies.

Ruele quickly becomes part of the group trying to understand what the Pyramid really is.

After Judge Kise explains her suspicions, Ruele listens seriously, accepts that something is deeply wrong with the place, and points to the existence of an Archdemon-made being as evidence that Kise’s theory may be right.

She also admits that her own memories of the Sanctuary are incomplete and says that she cannot hear Zeaon’s voice inside the Pyramid, which reinforces her sense that the place is unnatural.

Even in tense moments, she helps ease the atmosphere, such as when she jokingly tells Kise that Hurado’s unfriendly expression is simply the friendliest face he can manage.

As Hurado shares a version of history that differs drastically from the one remembered by Ruele and Judge Kise, Ruele shows herself to be open-minded and thoughtful.

She asks whether his story is the same one he mentioned when they first met, urges Kise to hear him out fairly, and later struggles with the fact that they seem to remember the same events in completely different ways.

Rather than immediately rejecting the contradiction, Ruele proposes finding someone who exists in both versions of history so they can compare memories and determine what is true.

Ruele also plays an active role when the situation turns violent.

When Sven is attacked, she rushes in, checks whether he and Hurado are all right, and recognizes the assailant’s attack pattern before Judge Kise calls out to Vildred directly.

Soon after, when Vildred appears wounded and claims that an imposter Ras attacked him and the others, Ruele immediately moves to heal him.

Later, once Vildred begins cooperating with their group, Ruele confirms that he too feels as though parts of his memory were deliberately removed, further linking him to the Pyramid’s larger mystery.

Ruele’s concern for Ras also becomes clear later in the story.

When she and Judge Kise encounter Ras traveling with Zeno, Ruele is confused and hurt that he is with such an ominous figure and asks why he did not come to them, despite everything they had been through together.

Even after Ras vanishes again without fully explaining himself, Ruele immediately focuses on finding him and uncovering the truth behind his actions.

Overall, Arena Story portrays Ruele of Light as compassionate, perceptive, and quietly proactive: someone who protects others, listens carefully even in confusing circumstances, and works closely with Judge Kise to untangle the Pyramid’s falsehoods and fractured memories.
