Profile
Ras carries the title "Heir of the Covenant".
Background
The main protagonist of Epic Seven, Ras is the Heir of the Covenant, a being created by the Goddess of Life, Diche, to protect the world of Orbis from the Archdemon, and his Acolytes.
Created to protect the world and all life within it, he is admired as the leader of the Heirs and the alter ego of the Goddess.
He has a good personality and is very understanding, though he lacks some understanding of Humans.

Lore
Arena Story
In the Arena Story, Ras investigates the Pyramid after hearing rumors that its winner will receive the Monolith, a power said to rival that of the gods, because the claim feels impossible and the Pyramid itself gives off an ominous aura.
Inside, he meets Notos and is immediately caught up in Zeno’s attack, after which Ventus rescues him and pushes him to enter the tournament.
Although Ras remains wary of Ventus and the Pyramid’s many hidden rules, he continues forward because Zeno obtaining the Monolith would endanger Orbis, because he wants to uncover the Monolith’s secret, and because the Pyramid gives him a chance to meet companions who had already died.
As he advances, Ras reunites with Mercedes, encounters recreated allies such as Judge Kise, notices irregularities like a false Crozet and altered memories, and gradually suspects that Notos has another purpose for the Monolith because its power seems too great to be handed over so simply.
Near the end of the tournament, he temporarily works with Zeno to gather strength, opposes Ventus when Ventus tries to seize the Monolith, and moves to stop either rival from taking it as the Pyramid collapses; although the immediate aftermath is unclear within the story itself, later events confirm that the Monolith acknowledged Ras as its owner.
Epic Seven X Frieren - Beyond Journey’s End
In Epic Seven X Frieren - Beyond Journey’s End, Ras takes on a quieter and more reflective role after meeting Frieren, Fern, and Stark when they emerge from a Chaos Gate into Ritania.
He welcomes them without suspicion, offers to help them understand why they came to his world, and travels with them while introducing them to its people and history.
Although he remains dependable and practical throughout the journey—taking them to Krau, helping them earn shelter, exploring the mysterious dungeon with them, and guiding them toward Dun Blyraia—the story places particular emphasis on his relationship with memory and loss.
Early on, he admits that now that the war is over, he is only beginning to understand what it means to live in peace, and later, when the Hilag Lance in Taranor’s royal storage reminds him of the fallen Heirs, he confesses how empty he feels whenever he thinks about comrades erased from the world because he could not protect them.
That reflection leads Ras to two of the story’s most important actions.
The first comes through Victorika Hilag.
After recognizing the significance of the Hilag Lance, Ras chooses to tell Krau and Zieg about Victorika, an Heir from the previous world whom no one now remembers.
In doing so, he helps Krau understand that even forgotten people may still leave behind a will worth inheriting, and he himself begins to accept that remembering the dead still has meaning even when the world has lost every trace of them.
The second comes through Robin and Rinak.
When Robin appears as an enemy inside the dungeon, Ras stops the conflict not merely by defeating her, but by telling her about Rinak, the precious person she once cherished and no longer remembers.
By trusting that something of Rinak still remains in Robin’s heart, he persuades her to abandon a course that would have harmed many people, showing that he has begun to see memory not only as a source of pain, but also as a way to guide the living.
That same idea reaches its clearest form during the journey to Dun Blyraia.
There, Ras helps Iseria and Frieren’s party confront the lingering scars of Nilgal’s attack and the grief surrounding Saria and the other fallen elves.
When Iseria asks about the previous era, Ras tells her that Saria believed she and Iseria would meet again in some form, and that Iseria had once sacrificed herself to protect Dun Blyraia in an earlier world.
These scenes show Ras acting as a bearer of memory for people whose history has otherwise vanished, preserving not only names and deeds, but also the emotions and wills they entrusted to the future.
By the end of the crossover, after Frieren helps him put words to what he has been feeling, Ras understands that he does not need to deny or bury those old bonds.
Instead, he can say goodbye with a smile and carry his comrades with him into the future.
He even wonders whether the long-buried sadness and yearning in his own heart may have been what summoned Frieren to his world in the first place.
Welcome to Oasis Land
In Welcome to Oasis Land, Ras plays only a brief but still supportive role.
Early in the story, Mercedes explains that Ras is away on a dessert tour with Arky in Lefundos, which is why he is absent while Eda, Arunka, Hwayoung, Choux, and the others first visit the ruined Oasis Land.
When the park finally reopens, however, Ras arrives with Arky as soon as they hear the news, is introduced to Frida as one of Mercedes’s companions, and warmly congratulates her on the reopening, acknowledging how difficult it must have been to bring everything together.
Although he does not take part in the story’s central conflict, his small appearance reinforces one of his recurring traits across other stories: when something important is happening for others, he shows up, offers sincere support, and helps turn the moment into one of shared encouragement rather than celebration alone.
7th Anniversary Festivities: Bloomtide's Special Courier
In 7th Anniversary Festivities: Bloomtide's Special Courier, Ras takes on a much lighter but still character-revealing role when he is asked to fill in as a courier after Merurin collapses from overwork just before Bloomtide.
Pressured by Curator Aerin, Merchant Purin, and especially Arky—whose unpaid snack debt is used against him—Ras reluctantly accepts the job of helping deliver letters, flowers, and gifts across the continent.
Even in this festive setting, the story highlights one of Ras’s most consistent traits: when others are in need, he cannot easily turn away from helping them.
Traveling with Yufine and Arky, Ras spends the story moving from one delivery to the next, often serving as the straight man to their more chaotic behavior.
He worries about running late, complains about mixed-up letters and wrong turns, and tries to keep the group focused on the work, but he still continues pushing forward so that everyone’s gifts and heartfelt messages can reach their destinations.
This makes the story a useful contrast to his more serious appearances elsewhere: here, he is not confronting cosmic power or forgotten histories, but the everyday labor of making sure people’s feelings are delivered properly during a festival of gratitude.
The route also lets Ras act as a link between different people and places in Orbis.
At the Larunda estate, he meets Byblis Larunda and later delivers not only her flowers to the Holy Order of the Blue Cross, but also a vase and letter intended for Achates.
At Reingar, he checks on the exhausted Yuna, receives the large magic balloon prepared for Bloomtide, and shows concern for whether she is overworking herself.
In Witchaven, his role becomes more emotional when he personally brings old, damaged letters to Vivian, explaining that they were messages that never crossed the barrier isolating Ritania and that one of the names on them is Kawerik.
In this section especially, Ras acts not merely as a courier of objects, but as someone entrusted with carrying old feelings, unfinished connections, and long-delayed words to their proper destination.
That final delivery to Vivian gives the story its strongest emotional note.
Ras understands that the letters matter because they hold more than written words, and he explicitly says that whoever wrote them poured much more than ink onto the paper.
By making sure they finally reach Vivian, he helps fulfill a long-delayed act of connection between her and Kawerik.
This moment echoes one of Ras’s broader traits in his other stories: whether he is preserving the memory of forgotten companions or delivering letters that should have reached their destination long ago, he repeatedly becomes someone who carries the feelings of others forward when they cannot do it themselves.
Orbis Gladiatorium
In Orbis Gladiatorium - Preliminaries and Call of the Heavens, Ras enters the second tournament after receiving Schniel’s request, both to inspire people and to help identify capable defenders for FIDELIS.
He participates with Mercedes and Arky, takes the competitors seriously, and repeatedly responds to them with encouragement and respect, carrying forward the hopes of fighters who want to protect their lands and their people.
At the same time, he becomes suspicious of the Axe of Heavenly Mandate, sensing foreign celestial energy in it and warning that it may contain dangers ordinary people cannot withstand.
He also notices a mysterious man watching him, feels an unexplained familiarity toward him, and continues investigating while advancing through the tournament.
After defeating the other challengers and winning the Gladiatorium, Ras is presented with the Axe at the awards ceremony, only for its power to react violently and transport him into a new crisis when Notos reveals himself again.
Monolith Showdown
In Monolith Showdown, Ras is pulled back into the Pyramid, this time retaining memories that should have been erased, while Zeno and Ventus accuse him of being an improper successor to the Monolith.
After defeating them with Tactical Archetype Coli’s support, Ras chooses to seek the truth directly from the Monolith instead of simply fighting over ownership.
As he moves through the Pyramid’s sectors, he battles Protectors such as Cerise, gathers the special powers they guard, and continues onward in order to save the people trapped there and confront Notos.
The Monolith then shows him Notos’s past, revealing that the tournaments and the Monolith itself were bait used to gather the power of the strong for Pames.
Ras ultimately defeats Notos, learns that the power he collected from the Protectors also restored Notos’s sealed body, and refuses to be tempted by the Monolith’s godlike power, saying that what matters most to him is not power but the people who wish to protect the world.
Working with Coli’s strategy, he gives up his own qualification and recognizes Notos as the legitimate owner instead, believing Notos will not use that power to destroy Orbis.
After Notos ascends and declares he will continue the battle-driven role of the Pyramid in his own way, Ras parts from him on good terms and later wakes up outside, immediately asking after everyone’s safety and learning that Coli protected the others from the blast.
Taken together, these stories show Ras not only as a protector who confronts threats to Orbis, but also as someone learning how to live with loss while continuing to serve the living.
