28 lines......
That must be pretty hard on you, but...
Let me finish. Mom spends practically all day in bed. We want to do something to make her feel a little better.
We figured her favorite soup'd put a smile on her face, and it's real healthy, too. Making it, not so safe, though.
So that's why you wanted a weapon.
Yeah...
All in all, we need an Ursa Mooli, Seriola Truffles, and Wedgebird Thighs.
I've never heard of any of those... What makes getting them so risky?
It's the thighs that are the problem. The birds have been dying out lately, so they're getting more expensive. We made a deal to get some from one of the merchants in Gamma District. But he wants a Conductive Magnet Part from a Durable Agateram in return...
That ain't the kinda enemy you can take down with your bare hands, know what I'm sayin'?
That's not the kind of enemy someone your age should be taking on at all! Can't you ask a grown-up for help?
No way! We promised Pop that we'd take care of Mom, this is our problem!
That, and... We don't really trust grown-ups anymore.
Yeah! It was adults who took our Pop away to fight in their dumb war. Mom got so worried about him she made herself sick!
You guys...
Okay, I have an idea. I'll go beat the Agateram and get you the Wedgebird Thighs. You trust me, right?
Hmmm... You have helped us out before, I guess you're all right. I've heard you can find Durable Agaterams at the end of Route 99.
Let me handle them. You guys can get the other ingredients while I'm gone. That way you'll have done most of the work and kept your promise.
Yeah!
Be careful. But don't take too long!
...Hey, mister?
Huh? What's that?
Our mom is asleep in the next room. She really needs her rest...
Oh, so that's what all that "no access" stuff was about. Okay, I won't disturb her.
Thanks!
Better get right to it. Our next target's the Durable Agateram on Route 99. Game on!
2. Scene 2
3 linesThis looks like a Durable Agateram. Begin the battle now?
No
Yes
3. Scene 3
1 linesYou promised Pirica not to go into this room.
4. Scene 4
5 linesIn the market for some Wedgebird meat, are you? You came to the right place, my friend. It's fast becoming a luxury product, what with the decrease in their population and everything. I'd love to sell you some, I really would, but plain old cash isn't gonna cut it. Maybe if you had something to trade...
You handed over the Conductive Magnet Part.
Whoa! If I'm not mistaken, that's a Conductive Magnet Part you got there! You're telling me you defeated a Durable Agateram? Well, ain't that something...
Gyah hah hah! I didn't think anyone 'round here was strong enough to beat one of those. I can barely believe it... I've been trying to get ahold of one of these for years. Take your Wedgebird Thighs! Help yourself to wings too, if you want. 'S the least I can do.
You got Wedgebird Thighs.
5. Scene 5
50 linesDang, this sucks...
Hey, guys. I got you the Wedgebird Thighs. Who's in the mood for soup?
Oh, uh... Thanks...
This blows...
Hey, what's up with you two? You're both looking really down.
We got the Ursa Mooli no probs, but Seriola Truffles are totally sold out. All the merchants we've hit up say they're off-the-charts expensive.
......
......
It's too early to give up now.
Geez, Aldo. I asked you to look in on the little squirt, not become his life coach slash gofer.
Old man!
Kid, you shoulda been straight with me about all this from the start. I got a regular, grows mushrooms in her greenhouse as a hobby. I called in a favor, and bam! One Seriola Truffle. G'on, take it.
Wow! A real-live truffle!
Mister Za'ol... Why would ya go through all that trouble for us, after I ticked you off like that?
I couldn't exactly ignore it, the way you two were running around from store to store. Giving you a weapon is still out of the question, but a mushroom, that's a different story.
Mister...
My bad... I said some real harsh stuff to you before...
Trust me, I've had a lot worse yelled at me in my time. Life's about give-and-take, kid. There's no shame in asking for help. If you keep everything to yourself, how's anyone supposed to know what you need? Having a quick conversation's a lot easier than sulking in the middle of a store for hours.
I...I'm sorry about that.
Ha! Don't let it bother you. I understand it wasn't just some passing fancy now, anyway. I'm heading back to my store. I think you guys should get to work in the kitchen. I bet your mom'll love this soup.
Thanks, Mister!
Yeah! We'll make this the best soup Mom's ever tasted!
You helped Pirica and Noya with the soup. A short time later...
All done! One steaming hot bowl of soup, packed with love!
Yeah boooi! Couldn't've done this without Aldo or Za'ol. Come to think of it, pretty much everyone in town pitched in, in their own way...
Nice work, kids. Come on, let's get your mom to try it before it gets cold.
Yeah!
Mom... Are you awake?
Oh, hello Pirica, Noya... Yes, I'm feeling well enough to get up. Did you need something?
Mom! We wanted to do something to help you feel better...
So we made you your favorite soup!
Pirica handed over the soup.
Wow! For me? It must have been hard making it all on your own...
It was, but we weren't totally alone. We got help from some people in town, and this guy right here.
I see...
Young man, thank you for helping my children. I feel so bad that I haven't been there for them lately... I hope you'll be friends. They may need to count on you again in the future.
I'm glad to lend a hand whenever.
Well now, I suppose I'll dig in. This sure looks tasty...
This is seasoned just right, Pirica. When did you get so good at cooking?
You watch over the three of them for a while.
You guys did a great job! Your mom looked really happy.
Yeah! Say, Aldo? I realized somethin'...
Askin' folks for help, workin' together... It ain't so bad as I thought.
There are some grown-ups we can trust after all.
Glad to hear it. The two of you are still young, so it's only natural you'll need some help now and then.
Yeah!
Well, I've got to get going. I hope your mom gets better soon. I'll drop in again when I'm nearby.
Thanks, Mister Aldo!
