Luminous Ice

I don't need anything right now.

You must be wanting new treasure information by now. Right? Right?

I'm feeling extreme pressure from you, Jeeno!

Ah... What've you got to say then?

Did you find some good treasure?

I'm glad you asked! I just got some valuable information! A special material was found in the Xeno-Domain industrial sector!

A special material?

When cold, it easily breaks on impact...

When warm, the broken fragments come together again and solidify.

A material that changes its molecular structure through physical temperature change?

Well, precisely. But if too much time passes, they won't go back together again. When the fragments pull together, they resonate with each other and glow... Once the light goes out, they're gone.

Sounds like a difficult material to handle.

This is the first I've heard of such a material!

Haha! This is brand new information I heard from some old researcher.

He said you can use it to make weapons, and you'll get some mighty interesting things out of it.

I see...

So you wanna get your teeth stuck into it?

I brought this story to you, as Seekers I can trust.

Also, the researcher didn't return from Xeno-Domain. I wonder what happened...

He didn't come back?

I'll be careful then.

Leave it to me! I will do all I can to protect Aldo!

She's so reliable. Let's pray for good fortune.

You're back for the material from the Xeno-Domain Industrial Sector?

Yeah, that's right.

It's a hard material to handle. Do you remember the precautions to take?

Of course we do! Special material known as Luminous Ice breaks under impact when cold, and solidifies again when warm.

But once broken, it cannot be restored after a certain amount of time has passed. While still possible to restore, the pieces will resonate and glow. Once the light goes out, time's up!

Perfect. As I'd expect from the trusted companion of the man I trust!

Haha! Riica sure is reliable.

Then let's go!

The special material Jeeno was talking about... Is this it?

Database comparison complete. There is less than a 0.00000001% chance this material is a different substance... In other words, this is definitely the Luminous Ice!

Great. Then let's take this back...

Hey!

Hmm?

Hey, you two! Did you come for that material, too?!

Yeah, that's right. And you are...?

I'm a researcher from a certain institution. I came here looking for that material, too...

But I'm so lost! Hahaha!

So are you the researcher Jeeno was talking about?

You're okay after all...

Yes, somehow or other. Just when I thought about giving up, you two appeared!

Why don't we take this material and return to Elzion together?

Oh... Yeah, sure.

Then let's go!

Huh?! It's... It's so much colder than I thought!

Hey, are you okay? If it's cold, it'll break on impact. Be careful...

Dropping is prohibited!

Hahaha! I'm fine, I'm fine. I've got it!

Whoa! Wh-What the?

Aldo! Over there!

Wargh! Wargh! Get away from me!

Eep! I-It broke!

No!

Oh no! They're carrying away the broken pieces!

Darn! Hurry, we've got to retrieve them so we can stick them back together!

Riica! Do you know where they're heading?!

The route of the Guard Drones is divided into five. But I won't miss any of them!

When the light of this rock goes out, our time's up! Hurry and chase them!

You're coming, too!

O-Of course!

So we meet again! I thought I'd see you if I waited here!

Were you waiting for us?! What would you have done if we didn't come?

But you did come! Take the material and protect me from the enemies!

Take care not to drop it this time.

Darn it... They're here!

Mr. Researcher, please hurry this way!

Ahhhh! Ahhhhhh!

Not again!

Oh, I'm sorry. I thought I wouldn't drop it this time...

I've got hits for the pieces in five areas. Once the light goes out, they can't be restored. It is game over!

Aldo! Mr. Researcher! Hurry and chase after the Guard Drones!

Let's do it!

There's one!

I can confirm that it has a piece of the material in its possession!

All right, we've got no time! Let's fight!

The stolen material has been returned!

Great! We've found the second piece!

The battle is about to commence!

Let's do this!

Aldo! I have a hit for the Guard Drone in front!

All right! Let's fight!

Understood!

It's not here... Wasn't this the place?

It must be nearby...

Huh?!

Get back! It's not safe!

Let's go, Riica!

There it is! The last one!

The battle is about to commence!

Phew... I'm shocked you're that strong!

Now we should be able to get all the pieces back together in time!

But we don't have time to relax. Let's head to the next location!

Sounds good to me!

We've now got two back. We're cruising through this!

Unbelievable! We've already got the third one back!

How many more do we need to collect?

Five Guard Drones appeared with the alarm...

Which means there are two left.

Two more? Then let's hurry!

Phew, what a surprise. But that's the fourth one! Just a tiny bit left to go!

Yeah. Let's look for the last one!

Phew! That was the last one! The pieces are still glowing. We might just make it in time!

Yeah! Now we just stick them together and they'll return to normal...

Riica, can you do anything?

Yes, of course. I'll warm them up. Wait a minute.

Wow! This right here is the material I was looking for!

It was worth the trouble!

I'm so glad!

Hahaha. I'm incredibly grateful to you. I'll be asking for your help again!

Restoration complete without issue!

Uh huh. This is it, this is it!

We finally got it.

I'm so glad!

Hahaha. I'm incredibly grateful to you. I'll be asking for your help again!

Unfortunately, we're out of time.

Oh... It can't be helped. Let's stick what we have together and go back to the entrance for now...

We made it back.

Did you manage to repair the Luminous Ice, Riica?

I did! I warmed up the pieces we collected and successfully recombined them!

Hmm... It looks a bit misshapen without all the pieces.

But the material itself is precious enough that this will have a pretty high value.

You're right. It's a little damaged but it should be fine! Let's try to get a perfect material next time! The three of us!

You mean you want to come back here? In spite of the danger?

According to some statistics, 95% of researchers will disregard danger in order to reach their objectives.
