Thillelille

Earth to Misty! Did you lose your ears or something?!

Mistrare

Huh?!

Oh s-sorry...! I guess I spaced out for a second.

Thillelille

Are you alright? You're looking a bit flushed in the face.

Mistrare

Thank you for your concern. I feel just fine. In fact, you could say I'm feeling strangely energetic.

Thillelille

Well, if you say so...

So, what are you doing here anyway?

Mistrare

Well... Have you had a chance to look at the historical documents here, Thilly?

Thillelille

(I haven't, actually... But I break out in hives just holding a book!)

Of...Of course Thillelille has! Start to finish! Cover to cover!

Mistrare

I thought as much! So I'm sure you understand already...

Thillelille

(I break out in hives just holding a book!)

Thillelille hasn't pored over it yet, but was on my way here to do just that!

Mistrare

I could've guessed as much, considering your passion for studies! Now that you're here, shall we read them together?

Thillelille

(Darn it! I was trying to get out of this, not deeper into it!)

"Paradise Plan"

After the development of the wormhole, a plan was devised to use the wingless beings inhabiting the blue planet in a war against other nations. ยฅ^ In the beginning, the spirits of the underworld were discarded in a harsh land in need of faith. They were made to look like saviors and the old myths were propagated. ยฅ^ The plan called for the mass production of soldiers that would then follow the Winged Beings under the guise of leading them to paradise. ยฅ^ They selected thirteen people to perform the procedures to adapt the atmosphere of the blue planet. Howlo, a member of the royal family, would take charge of the operation. However, later research discovered that this plan was a scheme by another party. ยฅ^ It's true that the purpose of the plan was to conscript people from the blue planet, but the underlying purpose was to indirectly exile Howlo. ยฅ^ Howlo's hole keeper, Shigils, was confirmed to intentionally have a defect... ยฅ^ It is believed that the wormhole was specifically set up to allow Howlo to go through it, but not return. ยฅ^ Judith, the daughter of one of the plotters, was also prevented from learning of deeper purpose of the plan. Of course, there was no defect embedded into Judith's hole keeper, Brunhild... ยฅ^ She was supposed to slip away under Howlo's eyes once the conscription mission was on track. ยฅ^ However, this plan, which appeared to be going well at first, broke down due to some trouble on the blue planet. ยฅ^ Due to an interruption in communication with Judith, the plan was abandoned and instead moves were made to expel Howlo.

"Weapon History"

The origins of science can be traced back to the observation of a single stick being able to stop the lightning coming from a thunder spirit. ยฅ^ During the process, the spirit transformed into a potential enemy, which led to the eventual invention of the "Stifling Song" that could control spirits. ยฅ^ However, the Stifling Song was not purely science since it could only be used by specific singers. Thus, it didn't take long for the Stifling Chain to be developed. The chain could be wielded by anyone, and it was not long before the minions of the spirits were eliminated. It appeared that the reign of chaos brought about by the spirits of the underworld was finally over. ยฅ^ However, the Stifling Chain was a double-edged sword in that it could be used on the Winged People themselves. It was not long before this led to war. ยฅ^ Various types of anti-personnel weapons were developed, and the conflict intensified. Perhaps the chaos was not caused by the spirits of the underworld, but by the will of the planet. Eventually, inspired by the wingless people on the blue planet, scientists discovered a weapon that could neutralize the flight of the Winged People. ยฅ^ While the wings affected by this weapon will return to normal over time, there are rare cases of permanent damage reported... ยฅ^ The cause remains unknown to this day. It is believed that its origin has to do with the wingless people on the planet. ยฅ^ The wingless people were discriminated against, and eventually became a group that did not belong in any country. The greatest irony was that this was the supreme weapon for the wingless people.

Mistrare

I'll leave out the other one, but as you can see now...

These documents have details about the Paradise Plan and the history of armaments.

But something is still unclear. Why did our ancestors feel the need to create the Paradise Plan in the first place? From reading the historical records, I cannot fathom the urgency for such a thing. Or it's just not expressly written.

Thillelille

Misty... Thillelille knows you've been charged with recording history, truly

But Thillelille doesn't think you should be obligated to learn of histories that are too painful to face.

Mistrare

Thank you for your kind words, Thilly.

But as a descendent, I want to know. And even without the obligation, I have a right to know.

Thillelille

Thillelille sees what you're saying. As long as it's curiosity and not some silly obligation you feel.

Mistrare

Heehee... You're much too kind, Thilly.

Then I'd like to know much more about these documents.

Thillelille

But how can you do that? There's no other source of information outside of what's available here.

Mistrare

That's what I thought as well. But in fact, the donor's name is written in the informational source column of these texts. And most of the texts appear to list the same source. So I thought, perhaps there are even more detailed documents the donor could be keeping in their own home.

Thillelille

Is that so?! And just where is this donor's home?

Mistrare

I don't know. Only the donor's name is listed, not their address.

Thillelille

Only the name? Hmm... It sounds like the only thing we can do is check nameplates outside the houses on each street.

And there's no time like the present! Let's get going and start searching!

Mistrare

Great! Thank you for your help!

Feeling this way just won't do. I've got to pull myself together... I can't cause anyone to worry over me anymore...

Your choice

Read them all

Not quite yet

2. Scene 2

30 lines
Thillelille

Now then...

We'll only make the task tougher if we stick together and search.

Mistrare

You're right. It wouldn't be very efficient.

Thillelille

So let's split up. But you'll have to race to beat Thillelille!

The first to find the house wins. And since that's the only rule...

Thillelille will take the starting sprint!

Mistrare

Oh! Wait, Thilly!

And there she goes... If the plan was to split up, I wish we could've decided on who's covering which areas.

Prai

Ah, Sister Mistrare. What might you be doing here?

Mistrare

Oh! It's Mr. Fiery Friar! Your timing is perfect.

You see, I'm looking for the donor of historical texts I read. They reside in the area, but I only know their name. I wrote it down here...

Prai

Let me see... Ah! I recognize this name! And I just happened to see them not moments ago. This must be the Light's will!

Mistrare

Really? I didn't expect to find them so quickly...

Prai

Hm? You don't seem happy about that. Is there something else going on?

Mistrare

The truth is...I'm in a race against Thilly to see who can find the donor first.

Prai

A race, you say...

I see... Our squad leader must be causing you some trouble. I apologize.

Mistrare

No, no! There's no need to apologize.

Thilly has been a real lifesaver. She's been looking out for me...

I wonder where she is now though. It'd be nice if she could find the donor quickly...

Thillelille

So that means...your turn is up, Moke!

Moke

Bli-bleep?

Thillelille

You're going to find the donor's home! And way faster than Misty can!

Moke

Blepple-blip...!

Thillelille

Let's see... This way then? I'm starting to feel pretty confident about this!

Heheheh... Misty will lose and victory will be mine!

Prai

You need to find Sister Thillelille? I see... Then I shall look for her after you've found the donor.

First I shall take you to the donor's home. Please follow me.

Mistrare

Agh...

My wings feel as if...they're on fire... It all started when I arrived here. What is happening to me?

3. Scene 3

8 lines
Prai

Here we are. The name of the person you're looking for is written on the nameplate right over there.

Mistrare

So this is the place?

Prai

Unfortunately, there are mechanical weapons patrolling the entrance. If you just wait here...

No! Sister Mistrare!

Mistrare

Huh?

I'm s-so sorry! I wasn't paying attention...

Prai

No need to apologize! We must prepare to fight!

Mistrare

R-Right! I've no intention of causing further trouble!

4. Scene 4

50 lines
Prai

Whew... That was close. But thankfully we pulled through.

Do you know what happened back there? That was unlike you, Sister Mistrare.

Mistrare

I'm sorry. It seems I'm constantly being rescued...

Prai

Oh no!

Hmph... That mechanical weapon called for backup then? It's only getting more dangerous here. We'd better try and seek shelter inside!

Your skin is practically burning... How could you feign such calm in this condition?

I'll just have you rest here for a bit. The mechanical weapons still seem to be hanging about outside anyway.

But I cannot sit still and wait. I might not know all the details, but I suppose I could try looking around for historical texts.

Hm. There doesn't seem to be any items of the like around here. But what could this note be?

No matter how I look at it, I haven't a single clue. Since the mechanical weapons don't seem to be backing off, I should probably reach out for some help...

Mistrare

Mr. Fiery Friar...

Prai

You should be resting, Mistrare! If you overdo it...

Mistrare

With my my wings burning so hot... I can't bear it longer...

Prai

Mistrare...?

Mistrare

Mr. Fiery Friar, you're the only one I can rely on for this... Just as you protected me so fiercely back then... Please...relieve the heat within me...

Thillelille

Thillelille was a fool to trust you, Moke! A big dummy, indeed!

In the end, we had to walk all around. And now you've got us searching all the way out here.

Moke

Bleeple! Blup!

Thillelille

Oh! This is the name that Misty told us about!

???

Friar, you're the only one...

Thillelille

Hm? Did you hear a voice coming from inside? It sounds like Misty...

Mistrare

Just as you protected me so fiercely back then... Please...relieve the heat within me...

Prai

I understand. And if you are satisfied with someone like me...

Thillelille

D-D-Do WHAT now?!

Huh...? No way... What could be going on in there?!

In any case...

Have some decency!

Huh? What's this? Prai! Misty! What are you two doing...?!

Then explain yourself, if you can... Why are...

The two of you are jumping from side to side?!

Et tu, Moke?!

Ahhh! Come on, now! You're making a mess of things!

This is out of control! All of you! Stop this at once!

Mistrare

*huff* *huff*

Thank you, Mr. Fiery Friar. The burning heat is finally quenched.

Thillelille

I think I get it now. So Misty's wings we getting too hot, and you were helping her release some of the heat. Right?

But why are they heating up in the first place? Do you have any idea, Misty?

Mistrare

I'm unsure myself. But ever since arriving here, they've slowly begun to warm up.

Prai

Could it be related to the magical elements in this place that Sister Melina spoke of?

Mistrare

Magical elements, you say? In fact, the magical powers of us winged people reside in our wings.

Thillelille

Hm... If that's the case, then it means that you've stored up too much magical power, and you can't hold back?

Mistrare

I cannot be certain, but it may be the case.

Prai

I was very surprised to find that you had such a fever. You seemed to hide it very well.

Mistrare

As for that, I'm very sorry to have startled you. I didn't mean to cause any worry, but here we are...

Thillelille

Thillelille knows what you're going to say! But now...we have more pressing matters to see to.

Prai

Oh? Do you mean tidying up the mess we've made?

Thillelille

Of course not! Well, that's also important. But look again!

Thanks to Moke's running around, we've found a hidden room!

Prai

What? Oh my...

Mistrare

It looks a bit sketchy. But let us check inside.

5. Scene 5

25 lines
Prai

This is...!

Mistrare

How could there be so many texts hidden in just one room?!

Look over here, you two! It's incredible! With histories about winged people and wingless peoples, this place is a treasure trove!

Thillelille

Heehee... You seem pretty excited, Misty!

But why would the person who lives here hide all these things away?

Prai

Actually, there was something I found while looking around the other room. It was a note with a drawing of imitation wings. It's likely that the child who lived here was wingless.

Mistrare

Wingless people? This world was prejudiced against them, yes? Perhaps this was a way of unraveling the winged histories, or rather, their way of opposing their fate.

Thillelille

This has has plenty more texts than than the other storage spot. I wonder why they only donated such a partial amount...

Mistrare

Perhaps it's simply because they had only just received it. Or perhaps...

They thought they if they presented all this, the child's standing would become even worse.

Prai

You might be right. But all we can do now is speculate on their intention.

Mistrare

Regardless, I can finally get my hands on the information I was looking for. And I thank you both for that.

Thillelille

You know, Thillelille never thought to ask. But why did you want to know the history of this place so badly, Misty?

Mistrare

Well...

I am the teller of the winged people's history. And this place must have their history told without exception.

And I believe that a history once lost does not mean it should be lost forever.

Thillelille

Heehee! Thillelille understands what you mean. And it would be much like you to feel that way.

Mistrare

And with more information than I could have imagined, I could quite literally cry for joy...

If someone...perhaps you two, could help me in the task, I would be ever so grateful.

Prai

Ha! Ha! Ha! You don't have to act so shy about asking for help! We live in the spirit of service, after all. In fact, you don't even have to ask!

Thillelille

S-Sorry, Misty! Just holding a book makes Thillelille break out in hives, you see...

Prai

Come now, Sister Thillelille! As a squad leader in the Service Corps, you must help Sister Mistrare!

Thillelille

N-No... No thanks! You aren't even listening to me!

Really sorry, Misty! But it's got to be anything but books!
