23. Retreat

What was that? Magic? Are you from the Empire or something?

I...

You control the mob differently than the one they call Nanook.

Has your bell been modified?

What do you know about the Great Relic?

Eriri.

Can you lift the spell on Snezhana?

Eriri!

Snezhana is under their control, Sova...

I know... but we still aren't out of danger.

If she knows the answers to these questions, you can ask her when we get back to headquarters.

Fine... I'm just very anxious right now.

Um... Eriri...

What?

Can I put Sui down now? It's very tiring.

Can I trust you, Sui?

...

Swear you will save Nanook and I promise I will not betray you.

Uh... Okay, you can put her down, Awakener.

Thank God.

Shush!

...!

Too quiet...

(Gurgle!)

Bad guys! How did you know?

Careful. Raspartans.

This is the escape route Fenriru organized? What a joke.

When we get back, I'll give her a piece of my mind.

Can we even get back?

The SUV's just up ahead. Once we're in, we should be able to shake them.

I knew it wouldn't be easy.

If Snezhana knew what happened to her wheels, she would snap out of it instantly.

Good old Bifrost. They know a thing or two about vandalizing private property.

We'll have to commandeer another vehicle.

You mean steal one?

You return commandeered vehicles.

Ah...

Sova?

Lieutenant Fenriru. I hope you've got good news for us.

Have you taken a hostage?

If you're talking about Sui, yes.

She has some unique insights into the Great Relic.

I see. That might also explain why Rasparta is so eager to stop you.

What are you going to do?

What choice do we have, besides smashing our way through?

Foolhardy.

Hesitate too long and you'll die.

Get in and let's get outta here.

Only 20 kilometers back to base. Hopefully no enemies from this point on.

Peace Keepers are moving into the city. Hopefully they'll be able to get the situation under control.

Snezhana... is still back there.

Hey... can you not talk about her like she's dead, please?

Yes!

I'll save her. I swear it.
