If Yhwach is the founder of the group known as the Quincies, that must mean that the Soul King is the very source of the Quincies' power itself.

The Soul King might have had a child before he was sealed away, or perhaps some of the "power" that was cut off of the Soul King manifested itself in the shape of a person.

That is none of my concern, though.

Don't you find it humorous? The Soul King that you so desperately tried to protect was propped up as the savior of humanity by my ancestor.

Yhwach was personally trying to save his own father, to save him from an isolated existence in which he wasn't even allowed to live or die for a million years!

Between returning the world to its original state or killing his father, I'm not sure which was his true goal.

But the result was that Yhwach devoured the Soul King's body and is now acting as the world's linchpin in his place.
