1. Before the battle
10 linesThis is a story from long ago. In a distant land, there once lived two brothers.
The older brother was a general, and the younger, an alchemist. They both lived very different lives.
The older brother would bring those defeated in battle to a workshop for his younger brother to use as subjects for his experiments. Over time, hundreds and thousands of lives were lost in that workshop.
When the raw flesh of the dead and the empty husks of those experimented upon had piled up enough to have filled the workshop, the two brothers suddenly died.
The souls of those who had experienced so much suffering and hatred were released from their chains, and the monsters known as Hollows were born.

So I'm just a copy, huh? Nothing more than an afterimage born from the knowledge of Szayelaporro Grantz.
In other words, there's no reason for me to be bound by Szayelaporro.
I never thought it'd be such a relief to learn that I'm not actually myself.
But, I wonder why "I" even tried to discard myself in the first place?
