Challenge Pasio's Trainers: Part 1

And boom!

Thank you!

It looks like our shouting resonated with everyone's souls!

The crowd's going wild!

Yeah! I can feel their cheers echoing!

I know. I feel the heat coming off them.

Though, I can see a few are gettin' a bit too heated up...

No way!

I keep telling you that Ryuki's passionate shouting is the best!

*sigh* You don't get it.

The melancholy Piers obviously captured the audience's hearts more than anyone else!

No, neither of you get it!

The song reached a new level of perfection because of Roxie's poison on the stage!

It's nice to get compliments, but you all are heating up...and not in a great way.

It's a bit annoyin'...

But I do think a competition to decide who's the best musician might be interesting!

Righto, then...

Attention everyone!

This is sudden, but the three of us are gonna do another live concert!

But it's not just gonna be a jam session...

It's gonna be a showdown to determine who's number one!

We're calling it a "Special Concert Battle"!

It's gonna be an exciting concert that's slightly different from usual!

All right... We can't back out now!

The three of us all have our own style of music. I think it's gonna be difficult to decide who's the best among us...

But I'm excited for the possibility of new music being made through competing instead of collaborating!

The only problem is the rules of the battle...

If we don't set some rules, even as a formality, it'll just be us singin' onstage.

It's a competition AND a concert! We have to entertain everyone listening as well!

Hmm...that's true.

Then, how about this?

Let's all form a band with two other people!

They can be pros or amateurs, doesn't matter.

Then my team, Piers' team, and Ryuki's team can battle it out!

Sure, that sounds good.

I'm OK with that too!

All right! Let's go with that, then!

Starting now until the concert is over, we're all rivals!

I'll be lookin' forward to seein' who you two decide to invite.

(Someone who'd work the best with my shouting...)

(I remember! The burning soul I heard that day!)

So Lyra! Let's belt out everything inside of us together!

You haven't forgotten that hot day when you sang your burning soul out with Jigglypuff, have you?

Of course not! And sure, I'd be more than happy to join you!

Thanks! I was hoping you'd say that!

Lisia! Could you help me out as well?

Ahhh... I'd love to, but...

I'm gonna be filming for a TV show about Pokémon battles with Steven and Scottie that day...

I see... Shame...

All right, no worries! Do your best at work!

Thanks! I will!

Although...Steven and Scottie are off the table too, huh...

I heard everything!

You're...

You need a teammate, right? Let me help!

I'm not much of a singer, but I do know of someone with a passionate shout!

Really?!

Yeah! Though I don't know if they'll go along with this...

Let's hurry up before Volkner beats us there!

Wow! What a powerful cry!

See! Great shouting, right?

Hey, star from Sinnoh! Let's belt it all out together!

Hmm?

OK, let me explain the details...

I see. That sounds interesting.

I may not look it, but I do enjoy the piano, among other things, so I think my ears are well trained!

So then...

Yes, Kommo-o and I will join you!

Very generous! I'd expect nothing less, Champion!

All right!

Now we've got the members with the best shouts!

Hmm, that's tough...

I was planning to ask Lyra and the rest too, but I didn't expect Ryuki to get to them first...

It seems like you're in a predicament, Roxie.

Huh? You're...

I heard about the battle concert.

Would you allow me to find your team members?

These are the two. What do you think?

I chose them because their voices match the style of your music, and because they are partnered with Poison-type Pokémon.

I believe that you can make up for their lack of experience in music with lessons.

I see... This could be an interesting team!

Yeah! I bet a concert with Roxie is gonna be so much fun!

Honestly, I'm not that interested.

But...

Since I was asked to do a job, I'll do it right.

Hehe...how reliable!

Now then, before we start practicing, let me talk about my music...

If we're gonna sing together, we should get our hearts in sync before we work on our technique.

What I'm trying to express with my music is "stick with the things that you like!"

But it's hard to balance the things you have to do and the things you want to do, so...

I want to rock people right outta their seats with my songs...and make them feel positive!

And I want to say, no matter how difficult it gets, or how many times I fail, I'm gonna keep sticking with the things I like!

Huh...

What do you think? Can you identify with my music?

I understand how you feel, Roxie!

I have an important dream as a Champion too...

So I think I can sing with the same feelings as you!

Thought so! Thanks, Iris!

How about you, Plumeria?

Honestly, your feelings just come off to me as idealistic talk...

But...I don't hate it.

I guess it might not be so bad to motivate the grunts with your music.

So...?

Yeah, sure. I'll sing with the same feelings as you.

Yay! Looking forward to working with you, big sis!

Thanks for helping as well, Oleana!

Please, don't mention it. I just did what any fan would do.

I'll be looking forward to the best concert ever!

Of course, that's a promise!

Let's rock the audience right outta their seats together!

The reason I thought of introducing you to these two is because of Mightyena and Houndoom's howls.

These two Pokémon tend to operate in packs in the wild...

But by partnering with you, they exchanged the strength of being part of a pack for the strength of being independent.

Their howls have a hint of loneliness to them... I think they'd work well with your melancholy, Piers.

I see... Doesn't sound like a bad idea.

I hear you, but...I have no music knowledge at all, you know?

Neither do I...

Are you OK with that, Piers?

Yeah.

The two of you understand how tough the world of battling can be...

So you'll still be able to move the crowd, even without a strong grasp of music.

I see...then I'm all in.

It'll be interesting to take on a challenge and see whether we succeed or fail.

Hmm... That's how it is, huh?

Then yeah, I'll join you too, though I'll do it at my own pace. As long as I can have some fun, I don't mind.

I see. Thank you for acceptin'.

Maybe my songs don't make anyone happy. Maybe I can't help. ♪

Huh, I see...

It does add depth to the song...

This is good! It's coming together!

I need to think about what contraptions to set up for the staging, too!

I need more! You can heat up even more!

He's burning up the most, even more than the performers...

Haha... We have to work hard so we don't get left behind by Flint's energy.

That's right! We'll fire up our souls even more!

Let's amp it up even more!

O-OK!

Should have expected this from a professional. We're barely keeping up.

This is poison in your days...poison on the stage!

It's almost time for the concert!

How are your teams coming along?

Superb, I'd say.

We're all ready!

You must be feeling good as well since you're asking, Roxie!

I feel like Toxtricity's personality is refined even more!

It's so surprisin' that the Toxel I left to jam with you would grow up and evolve to be so strong.

So that Toxtricity was from Piers?

Yeah! Now she's my reliable partner!

Oh yeah! Since we're all here...

On the day of concert battle...

Let the show begin! I'm going all out!

We're gonna start it off with our spirited shouting!

They've added Jigglypuff and Kommo-o's singing to Ryuki's fiery shouting!

It's making exciting music that rocks the souls of the people listening!

It's our turn next!

Get ready! I'm gonna knock some sense outta everyone!

Powerful, beautiful...with a bit of a danger mixed in...

Adding the two of them to Roxie's poison on the stage...

is refining and elevating the music to the next level!

It's not the end yet! Here's a big surprise for the end!

Let's liven it up even more, Toxtricity!

We're the last team, huh.

We may not have the same energy as the other teams, but we'll sing our feelings.

We've got one last number for ya! Get ready to etch it into your ears and hearts!

Amazing as usual!

The melancholy from the music has the power to hit you right in the heart!

When Mightyena and Houndoom's howls overlap with Piers's singing...

don't all kinds of memories flash through your mind?

This is the end of all of the performances, but... we want to say something.

Thank you to everyone for listening until the end.

We got so much power from everyone's cheering!

Now then, it's time to announce the results from the vote.

What a nerve-racking moment.

The team who collected the most votes is...

I see... These are the results.

I kind of guessed this would happen.

Well?! Which team was the best?!

The votes...

were split evenly three ways.

Therefore! All of the teams are winners for this concert!

All the teams won... I guess that outcome works.

Each team's songs were wonderful.

Everyone's saying that they like each kind of music!

All we can do is thank them, really.

Should we do that thing we talked about before as a way of saying thank you?

That's a good idea. Let's put on a show.

Everyone! We actually have one song left for the end!

All three teams are going to perform this song together!

Let's fill this song with gratitude and gift it to everyone.

I guess the only thing us singers can do is sing...
